  1. WHEN IS THE FINAL? What time? At Creek Wood??
  2. Agree that some officials will target teams and players. Also, many fouls that get people carded in soccer don't end in ejections in other sports. My earlier posts were in regards to the downright 'ugly' stuff that I read about in some of the games discussed here. The story of the goal keeper 'going after the official'. The story of the parents and fans ' throwing things and cussing' at the visitors. Those are the things that the TSSAA needs to step up on and put an end to otherwise there will be outside forces (lawyers, school boards) setting policy
  3. What is happening in District 10? Will White House Heritage repeat?? Will Montgomery Central continue its dominance?? When and where is the championship??
  4. great points turbocab. The best place for these problems to be solved is by the coaches, parents and players. Whether or not it is possible for the coaches to do this remains to be seen. However, my main point is if things don't improve the TSSAA will step in or worse - lawyers and or the school boards.
  5. Great points. While some of the defense of the high number of cards a few posts back is dead on some of the problems in the high school game a very concerning. I think the TSSAA should look at rules for players who end up with 2 or more red cards in a season. Either the TSSAA will have to start policing the game tighter or the lawyers and school boards will. That will be much worse.
  6. Hume Fogg has 2 great GK. They split the playing time and are only Sophmores. They should get joint membership on the all-district team.
  7. Very sad to hear about these and several other incidences on this webpage. I think the TSSAA will have to start making some more changes- increasing red-card penalties, etc. as it appears that if the coaches, players, officials and administrators don't start policing the game the higher authorities will. The Lawsuit in Williamson County is just a sign of things to come.
  8. Top 3 seeds will roll. I like Merrol Hyde in the 4/5 game. Overall- Station Camp wins district over Portland
  9. Sorry about the error. CPA's defense is fantastic. I knew that CPA was loaded with great Seniors- I just assumed that Dean was one of them.
  10. The entire District 9 of A-AA will be losing some amazing players. CPA- Dean M, and others FRA- VanEyess, Adams. Ezell- Chang, DL- Elrod and #11. HF- Devault, Baltuth, Jenkins DCA- loses 3 starters and their star CMF.
  11. I predict Station Camp 2 Livingston 1
  12. Agreed. Should make for a fantastic tournament. The quarters and semis should be fantastic. I can't believe that CPA, FRA, HF are 7,8,9 in the Eurosport ranking. No love for Middle tennessee. Several other teams in District 9 would have amazing records if they were in other A-AA districts.
  13. CPA- FRA; CPA- MLK; DLipscomb- HF
  14. Hume Fogg won its division but could not play in the final due to a conflict with prom. Hillwood won its division as well. The are considered "co-champions" of 1/2 of the tourney. The other 1/2 of the tourney was a round robin format. Overton cruised through and won it.
  15. Hillwood is a good team. They play in the best district in TN (Williamson Co. AAA and Hillsboro, Overton). For some reason the eurosport page does not have several Metro Schools teams schedules (Stratford, Hillsboro, Hillwood) come to mind. I have seen USJ and they are good. USJ dominated MLK. Yet MLK beat Hillwood who then beat USJ. Hume Fogg was much better than them. I imagine that there are a few other teams in the state that are as well. I think west TN is still behind in A-AA. Look at what CPA did to Haywood and Shefield.
  16. USJ has dominated the western Tennessee teams- they are very good. Shouldn't the result prop up Hume Fogg more than it harms USJ??
  17. Congrats to FRA. Their district is looking even tougher. CPA still undefeated and will crush the opposition in the "Tomcat Cup". HFA has 1 loss and 1 tie (both in district play). even the 7th place team DCA is tough. Name one district in A-AA who can say that their 7th place team beat Franklin.
  18. USJ is a great team. They are deserving of their high ranking. Should be a great tournament in Murfreesboro this year.
  19. Just another tight game in the best A-AA distirct. The 8th place team teid CPA. CPA dominated Ezell. Ezell beat MLK. MLK crushed Lipscomb. Lipscomb tied CPA. Its going to be a very close race for all of the positions. There are distiricts that have 2 or 3 good teams in A-AA. But no A-AA has a 8th place team as good as DCA and Goodpasture.
  20. Congrats to Tullahoma. Coach Chadwick is a great guy.
  21. Seems like every Saturday in Mid-April it rains or there is a threat of strong-storms.
  22. Several games are being played at some Middle School fields in the Donelson area. 3 brackets. 2 brackets have 3 teams. Bracket A- HF, McGavock, Oakland Bracket B- USJ, MLK, Hillwood. Round robin with 1 crossover game. The third bracket has 5 teams. Round robin. Overton will crush each of the other 4 teams. I hope that next year the Tournament of Champions will be as great as it used to be in the late 1990s. It used to be the top A-AA teams (Ridgeway, Chatt. Christian, DCA, White House, CPA- used to be like a preview of the A-AA state playoffs).
  23. The Nashville A-AA district (CPA, HF, FRA) should always have at least 2-3 teams in the top 10.
  24. No. There are no joint open dates. The distance demands a weekend game. Unfortunately, proms, tournaments and the overall end of the season prevent a rescheduling.
  25. Its not the recruiting - Its the demographics First off, Hume Fogg, Portland, Westview, Northside are all Public schools but your point is well taken. The reason for this is not exactly recruiting (although in theory all private schools have to recruit students to their school in general. The reason is demographics. Soccer has been dominated in America by Upper-middle class players. Just look at who is at state public schools with high SES (Franklin, Germantown, Farragut, Brentwoon, Hendersonville) and private. For A-AA most public schools are small towns/ rural areas and private schools. It will take a generation or two for things to equal out. (then again the high costs of travel might always be an advantage for the upper income students.
