salterjd, Thanks for the feedback. I would like for him to have some success, but we are both (he and I) realistic about goals for this year. I just didn't know if it was open to/if there would be some other kids there on his level. At the region, they were listed 1-5 with 5 being low skill level. He is a 5 and I was wondering if there would be only 4-5 skill level at the state.

I was at the tourney in Halls (North Region) and thought that Coach Sayne and his staff did an excellent job. Weigh-ins and matches were run smoothly and on time. We enjoyed it! Great job. Of the groups there, I was most impressed with the Stone Mountain group (bantams/middle is all I saw). The Gibbs team also had a big team and some good wrestlers.

I have a different problem. This is my son??™s first year wrestling and his skill level is LOW. He wants to go to the state, but he went to the Halls regional tourney and got man-handled. Is the state going to be just the best or will there be some lower level guys like my kid there?

Thank you for the reply. I followed the debacle last year with Seymour and the state tourney here on the message board. I hate to hear that Seymour has again faced adversity this time of the year. Hopefully, the young men were young and can compete next year. Again, thanks for bringing me up to speed on that situation.

I was wondering what happened to the young man from Seymour who was ranked in the top ten at 135 lbs. earlier in the year. I noticed he did not place in the region. Did he get injured?
