I can't believe this ridiculous conversation is going on when the Big 9 tourney officially starts tonight!!! Let's stick to what really matters please! BTW I think DB's pitching is being given too much credit, while Daniel Boone and THS aren't getting enough credit for their arms. these are my predictions for Round 1... Play-In game: Central 8, Volunteer 5 Round 1: Science Hill 12, Central 1 DB 3, South 2 Daniel Boone 8, East 3 THS 11, Crockett 2

Right now SH has 1 locked. Boone has 2 locked up, unless they lose to crockett. If they lose to crockett and Tenn high wins out, THS will b the 2 seed in the tourney. If THS wins out they are a lock at 3. right now crockett and south are tied for 4 and 5, but if south could get higher w/ a good week. DB is at 6 East is 7, Central and volunteer are 8 and 9. I think it'll be SH vs. Central/Vol, Boone vs. East, THS vs. Crockett and South vs. DB in the tourney...idk how the tie breakers are looking right now so that 4-6 could change.

I believe the Vikes could've played better as well...Their top 3 hitters going into that game did not have a hit. People stepped up and picked them up though. They battled and showed alot of character. Looking forward to a future rematch. Two very good and exciting teams.

ya i agree. There were 1 or 2 of them that didn't have the best of tryouts, but I believe that they are all in place to be in this showcase. They're all good ballplayers, and I believe the coaches knew that when they selected them.

All I know is the kids from the Big 9 conference that made Region 1 & 2 team: Science Hill HS- Lance Reed, Caleb Mancuso, Andrew Sims, Nat Patterson Tennessee HS- Jarrod Payne, Jon Krebs

I dont get this arguement it's useless DB was the better team in 06 and I with the rest of East Tennessee( besides Db fans)beleives that South was the better team in 07. Put all this behind and move on to 08. South can't waste time thinking about the What-if game. South's rising senior class is tough so is Besty's... anyone could have said this 3 years ago if they was at the frosh game between the two 14-7 Besty winning but VERY VERY hard hitting game for a bunch of Freshman....South,Eliz, and THS good luck to all...Each have a chance for the title and each have the talent but its all about how each one works in the off season.

1. Tennessee High- Way too much talent......Shepard in the back field will hurt opposing teams and they always have a good D. The only thing i see hurting this team is getting too over confident. 2.Elizabethton- Probably the best 1-2 punch of RB's around in Derek Carr and Cody Forbes. Defense wise i think they will have the best they have had in awhile cause of their speed. Coach Witten came in here for a reason and i think people will see why. Watch out for this team. 3. Sullivan South- No Curt= a couple of loses for the Rebels. Don't count them out though very well coached and have a couple of tough minded players returning. I see the defense carrying this team more for a change. 4. Johnson County- Still have Phipps and Prudhomme but i beleive they have finally ran out of RB's to help. They will miss Tyler Leonard more then ever. This team will be tough though because of something you can't coach and thats heart. 5. Sullivan East- They have the chance this year to show people that last year wasnt a fluke. Can they pull a upset or two??????? I think they fall short of playoffs this year but this team is on the rise. 6. Sullivan Central- This team will be the best they have had in awhile but not for this conference. 7. Unicoi- They improve..... but only one game. Can they prove people wrong like in 06??? 8. Sullivan North- No weapons no wins for the year. I heard from several people lately about how track doesnt get enough coverage. As a news writer for the Johnson City Press i made a trip to the two teams people are talking about for the up coming season to watch practice. I first made a trip to Brainerd( last years champion)of course like always they have speed but not much depth at all. O Harris looks as good as always doing the hurdels and looks like he has gained more muscle. Didnt know much about the other people but the rest looked pretty fast and was working hard. The next trip I made was to Elizabethton. All i have to say is these guys are loaded with sprinters. From covering football around the area i knew a few of the runners like Justin Fuqua, Derek Carr, and Preston Intaro. They tole me they had a chance to run a indoor meet at ETSU this year and did very well. I also looked around and they had two different shot putters this year and both was impressing coach Presnell by throwing 48 and 49 feet respectively. With the 7 people that has already been to state these guys should be ready to make a run as the states best along with the defending champions Brainerd /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Harmon isnt palying i dont think i have a close friend son that goes to THS and he said that he isnt playing but who knows.People have oppions but i think Carr was pretty god when he was healthy.The games he was healthy in he was pretty good HV-138 yards SS Rebels-144 yards SN-120 Unicoi-86 on 10 carries He got hurt and tore ligments in his foot over at Science Hill.I wished he would have got to play in the Johnson County Game i promise you it would have been a different story>Brooks Price ran all over them but never had the speed to break away.Ask ole coach Atwood if he was happy when he figured out that he wasnt playing haha /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> The East game limted carries cause of injury but ended up with 80 on 12 carries

I was putting Besty's Freshman scores up and i wasnt saying their junior class was weak,I was just proving that Besty has some upcoming Seniors that has been quit impresive over the years.When they was 8th graders they was expected to do nothing cause their previous 7th grade class went 1-7 but then came along Carr.They went 7-2 8th grade year beating the crap out of people.Carr had 4 200+ games and never had a game under 130.The Freshman season they took over where they left off going 6-1 and Carr only had one game under 100 yards and it was against South.The upcoming junior class is also loaded Only losing 3 games since 8th grade also.They have playmakers like Cody Forbes,Cody Anderson and Preston Intaro.This bunch will be overlooked again but i wouldnt overlook them to much this year i promise you the defense will give people heck. The junior class didnt win the MLC Freshman Title...If i recall Elizabethton beat them in Death Valley 14-7 buddy The only other games they lost was to DB They beat Science HIll, 7-6 Tennessee high 15-12, Johnson County got kicked out of the leauge cause they had they only had 2 Freshman that didnt play up,Sullivan East 42-14,Sullivan Central 35-20,and Unicoi 35 20 and well you all 14-7 6-1 MLC FRESHMAN CHAMPS /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
