  1. Yup. Game is over for Northeast but they went toe to toe with a great White Station team.
  2. Purvis has been quiet in the second half insofar as scoring. Last two shots came up short so he may be tired. This one could go down to the last possession.
  3. White Station has gained a little momentum early in the 4th and is up by 3. Joe Jackson now has 20 points and just excited the crowd with an acrobatic move.
  4. End of 3rd Quarter: Northeast taking a 3 point lead into the 4th quarter. I wouldn't say that Northeast was dominating White Station inside but NE is getting a lot of putbacks and Farrakhan Hall has only 5 points thus far. Both teams have a ton of turnovers.
  5. Northeast leads White Station 20-18 at the half. It looked early on that White Station might run away with it ending the 1st quarter with a 10 point advantage 14-4. Northeast was turnover prone and could not hit their shots. In the 2nd quarter it was White Station which scored only four points and Northeast found a shooter in Purvis. Joe Jackson seems to be having a pretty good game thus far but Northeast seems to be matching up with White Station fairly well thus far.
  6. Hello TraderB, I used the word alleged because I was responding to a post which said Bearden had five DI players. It turns out that he said Bearden had five DI players as something of a jestful comment based upon a post from a Bearden fan that said Bearden had five DI players. I listened to the NE game and it certainly did not sound like Bearden was stocked with five DI players nor could I imagine anyone defeating a team that had such talent. Ergo, I used the word "alleged." If I recall correctly, the rebounding stats were 37-35 Northeast. I don't know a thing about Northeast other than I listened to the game on the radio today. It was one of the sloppiest games in which I have ever had the misfortune of listening although the last five minutes were very good. Northeast turned the ball over quite a bit (but so did Bearden and Bearden killed themselves with four consecutive turnovers late in the game - the whole game was a turnover and foul festival as well as a "brick" barbeque). Northeast fans were saying they would match up well with Bearden's size and athleticism and those comments seemed to be accurate. Northeast seems to be one of those teams that will never give up and also seems to thrive in the 4th quarter so watch out if the game is close going into the 4th - NE pretty much dominated Bearden in the 4th quarter. Again, a Northeast fan would be able to give you much more information about the Eagles. I just listened to one game and I think both teams played pretty sloppy. Based upon that very limited knowledge I would not pick either of them to win the next round against RE but I know nothing of RE either except the respect they have garnered on the Coach T forums.
  7. Why is a White Station/Raleigh Egypt matchup one that is most definite now that Bearden is out? If you feared Bearden with it's alleged "5 DI players" then how much moreso should you fear the team that sent them home by 9? Actually, I do think Northeast will lose the next game. I listened to the NE/Bearden game and neither one seemed very impressive at least over the airwaves in this one game. I will say this; Given all the talk about Bearden's size, Northeast outrebounded them.
  8. I agree but is it certain that Coach Cooper will be at NE next year? He had been contemplating retirement prior to this season. If he wins a Championship then he may decide to retire on top. If he has a lot of talent coming back next year then he may want to stay. Regardless of what happens to Northeast in the next day or two it seems that there will be quite a few "wait and see" type questions to be answered after the season.
  9. Thank you. I was under the impression and perhaps erroneously so that only next year's Seniors would have a choice to attend either school whereas the Freshmen and Sophomores this year would attend wherever they were zoned.
  10. Clarksville has always had some great ballers but has never procured a State Championship. It is amazing that the Clarksville High team with Shawn Marion and Trenton Hassel (both NBA players now) couldn't do it. I believe Clarksville Northwest was also in the State Tournament that year as they had Marques Maybin who became Louisville's PG.
  11. Is it next year that West Creek High School will open in Clarksville? If so, do you think this will have a negative impact on Northeast's basketball program since it will be in a district next to Northeast? I would imagine it would draw students from Northeast, Kenwood and possibly Northwest. Will some of the current players be going to West Creek? Also, what year is Malcolm Smith of Clarksville Academy? Is he a Senior?
  12. The radio announcer stated late in the game that NE leading scorer for the year only had 5 points in the game up to that point.
  13. 34-29 Bearden. I haven't seen either team play but tuned into the game. I'm sure they are both good but, quite frankly, both seem horrible listening to the broadcast.
