read back to what was said earlier..how many times has LA beat Upperman since Davis & Maynard were freshman and how many times has LA even been to state since then? And if im not mistaken there might be 1 old gold ball but i know for sure there are 2 silver in the case before you enter, check it out at region tournament..the past is behind us! And as for setting an example for kids, everyone should try a little harder

WELL.. it is true everyone uses coacht as their kleenex, which i find quite amusing. It's funny noone is posting anything on the girls because Upperman girls won. But anyways, There is no need to get on here and bash all the players from Upperman just because Upperman can actually play with LA this year. #10 had a great shooting night and it would have been uglier without him but thats how sports go if you know anything about sports? Different players step up at different times as Baxter & Hamlet did last night when a bucket or rebound was needed.And as West hit many needed trey's. And everyone has a bad game like Nash last night. He simply did not show up on the offensive end but contributed to other aspects of the game. If i remember correctly Dunn didn't have his best game at Upperman but noone bashed him for it and he was player of the year?.. Don't get me wrong he is a great player, but because he didn't show up you seen the outcome? Yes LA played a good game. But lets give Upperman a little credit as they did pull off the win!! Great job LADY BEES.Daivs played her heart out and Biles and Maynard had some shots when they needed them the most. Great job coming together at the end with a win!! A win is a win no matter if its by 2 or 20.I remember a college coach telling me at a game one time that a ugly win is better than a pretty loss?

The foul on Dunn should have been intentional. But Coach McWilliams nodding was not in approval it was yea thats right smart play put the best foul shooter they have on the line for a free 2 and a foul on yourself thats real smart playing. I ve known Bobby since he has been here and his biggest peav is doing stupid things that hurts the team. The undercut could have hurt both teams. The officials let this game get a well out of control on both sides. If we have the same officiating at LA the score might be different but the emotions could get out of control again. Hopefully the officials will quit looking at the crowd and pay attention to the game.

Good luck Megan with everything you set out to do. I'm sure you will accomplish them all. It has been great seeing you on the hardwood as an Upperman Lady Bee. You definitely had a big role in showing what this years team could accomplish.

You are totally wrong on Davis . Davis did score on Poston the difference was Coach Mcwilliams changed the plays. She wanted to work the post to keep Poston out of the paint for rebounds. If you noticed Davis stayed high the second half and tried to work ball in on a pass instead of doing what brought them. When Davis drove on Poston she scored and Poston picked up her fouls that she had when Davis drove. If we wanted to take Poston out of the rebound situation the answer was to drive on her and let her pick up fouls not take our scorer out of the game. This was the only way to get Poston in foul trouble as she plays a very clean game and is faster then most players. If she was faster than Davis it is not enough to make a difference she still was reaching to keep up. However no one on the Upperman team can jump with her. The phantom fouls you probably couldnt see Poston was grabbing her shirt as she went in. In front of our goal they were easier to see than from the otherside of the gym

It appears to me at the state tounament the TSSAA has let high school basketball become streetball. If I am heavier than you and can beat you down enough I win.

True the rebounding was a huge difference Poston did not have a high % of made shots but when you get 2 and 3 of your own rebounds for another shot you score and you win.

Tried to work post and another outlet during 2nd half, shots were not falling for post and many others. We also let Milan tempo the game they wanted it slow and it was. When we give defense time to set up while we walk ball down then the shots have to fall. Upperman kept pace untill the T which should not have been given. After that it seemed like the wind was out of the sails for coach and players. This was the same official we had trouble with in first game. This game he was watching Dana early on in the game then after the T he went to oppsite side and continued to give her terrible looks not sure why.

Many teams have done this she simply passes to the open player and they score anyway. Same points different name this is why they win. Earlier in the year they were getting adjusted to the new personel in the starting line-up and had some bad games. They are very young but also very willing to share the points for the win. Seems to me that all five starters have been(the games) high scorer sometime this year.

Looking at scoring by winners. Marshall Upperman Mcminn Central Milan

This was the best coaching I have ever seen from Coach McWilliams. Dyer got into foul trouble early keeping Dishman down, and nerves were hurting scoring. The right moves were made and made early she trusted her team to make the plays and they did. The defense kept them in it until offense settled down. Even with a lot of time on the bench from fouls Dyer still had 12 points. Stone had no answer for Davis she scored 30 points. Stone is a high scoring team but Uppermans defense was in tune from all players. Hopefully their nerves will settle down for the next game. Also Stone players do not hang your heads this was the highest scoring game of the day lots of action. Hope to have your support for the next game and see you here next year.

I do not think she was talking about this game only. The region games were terrible, at this point you would think the officals would get better. But even in the state games last year it was up and down. Sequatchie was a very well mannered team as well as their fans thank's.

Try to rember Upperman played york in finals for dist. and region. They were very sore and had a hard time shooting, especially as fast as sequatchie was. Just ask McMinn how sore they were after playing them It's more wrestling and boxing than basketball.

I understand Centrals excitement in the win. I understand Yorks dissapointment in the loss. But York fans need to realize York girls are very hit and miss. They beat Upperman at home then got blown out by 41 spread next meeting. Next at district they made it to finals and Upperman started pulling shooters in second quarter. They made it to region finals and played on of the best games ever. At sectionals they were again out of the zone. I agree you cannot be consistant with only 5 players there is no rest. This applies not only to the game at hand, but to the hoard of games at a quick pace day after day to get there. This type of play causes leggs to get weak quick and fouls to try to keep up.

When the game is over its over. Fans and players should always respect each other. York does have a very good team, but if you show no respect its hard to get it back sometimes. I'm just not like that. When Upperman is playing I can always set and say, that was a great shot or great play by the opposing team. There are alot of great players in the area so be proud of that.
