  1. OakRidgeCat, I know several dozen or so people who are in this group of former players and boosters. Catpack-great name, sorry you don't like it, got the t-shirt! and Catwatch just to name a few, have the players and program's best interest. There have been many behind the scene things happen with this group anonymously, and it is a much bigger group of people than I thought. Very well funded. Don't judge until you know all of the facts. It is only fair the fine players at FR know both sides of the field. GO WILDCATS!
  2. Former standout Jeff Miner will take the helm and replace Ronnie Gray as offensive coordinator dumping the wingT and putting in the spread. Last season when the offense was running on all cylinders Coach Miner had his hands on the controls. Another great move for new coach Stanton Stephens is adding John Spratling to the staff. With Speas running the big red D what will Coach Gray be doing? Congratulations Coach Miner!
  3. I can't believe I missed the show. Can't wait for the show with Clary. I will be so refreshing to see Stanton and David talk football. David and the audience has had to suffer since Gaddis left and Bruce would talk for eternity without making a point.
  4. Nobody knows or cares about your school. They've never been a top program in this state and never will. Oak Ridge is simply down right now, your school can't play with the big boys, and you Jethro, Billy Bob and your wife/sister down thar in ooootewah will never be on the Wildcats level, never. Even the sun shines on a dogs butt sometimes.
  5. If Booker gets it twenty five times the Smokey Bears can't win, everybody knows it, but does Norm Grey.
  6. Hey I don't live in East Tennessee anymore but is Larry Kerr still as crooked as he was in the early 90's?
  7. How about I don't know Gary Rankin who Jim Helton NEVER EVEN INTERVIEWED. A known winner and we don't even talk to the guy, daaaaaaaaa!
  8. Oak Ridge should be in the hunt for the title every year. There is no excuse for losing to a team like Heritage last year with Corey Booker in your backfield. If the cats would simply get in an offense and get Booker the ball 25 times a game like Summers, Williams, and Bohannon they would kill people. Instead he touches it 11 times and gets 110 yards as opposed to 25 times and 250. It's simple math boys!!!
  9. CATBOOSTER... You talk out of both sides of you mouth...You start as much "stuff" on these threads as anyone. Your prediction was what?
  10. Hey Coach Gray, what do Shawn Summers, Shawn Williams, Shaun Bohannon and Corey Booker have in common? Answer: They all average around 10 yards a carry. Hey Coach Gray, what do the Shawn's have that Booker doesn't? Answer: A heck of a lot more carries. Hey Norm, What did the Shawn's do that Booker hasn't? Answer: Go past the second round. Ron get in the I formation next year and run the counter, the sweep and isolation to this kid. Let Gulmire play defense and relieve Booker at TAILBACK. Hey Ron it's o.k. that Coach Gaddis ran the I, here's another clue, he won-- skinny. A coach on your staff use to make fun of the wing-T all the time he referred to it as the wing-ed T. Oh who was that coach let me Mull over it. Get in the I. Get in the I. Pssss coach you might actually beat some people that are decent.
  11. How did the JV do last night? QUOTE>Posted by peniroo: I to would like to see all three backs on the field. This coching staff will not do that because it makes sense. They like to do things the hard way. To many holding calls and personal foul penalties in the varsiy and jr varsity games against heritage. The coaches don't get after the boys when they have a penalty. If this team had some discipline they could make it to the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs. OR 27 Sevier County 17....No defense for OR again!!!
  12. I am told.... Coach Gaddis is doing great at Austin High School in Decatur, Alabama.. Coach Gaddis in contrast to the coach at Oak Ridge {who was given the job 'cause Helton thought he should have it}........... Could run for mayor and win... Bruce wants to do everything opposite of how Coach Gaddis did it...{and very successful... like winning}. Instead of players disappearing from the team, top athletes from other sports {baseball, basketball, ect.} who haven't played football in years are on the team, making big contributions on Friday nights! The players, parents, fans, boosters ALL love Coach Gaddis. Coach Gaddis is putting Austin [former basketball school with out it's own stadium] on the map! A win this week at Minor HS in Birmingham will put them in the top ten. [13 now] Can we get Coach Gaddis back up here?
  13. The 'cats shall play as if they had a real head coach against the dragons........ OR....28..........Clinton....0
  14. Oak Ridge can not lose in week 2. They have too much pride and tradition even if they have a coaching controversy. These players are winners and will find a way to win. Hard fought: 14-0 victory! Show 'em WILDCATS!
  15. jedave30, I know the scrimmage you saw must have been a difficult 2 hours. It was for most of us. You asked where are the players? Are you talking about the players that beat Maryville 8th, 9th, 10, 11th grade and somehow were able to remain unbeaten while running the easily stoppable wingT?? Until they get to the "VARSITY BLUES"? The answer to your question will vary from who you ask. Ask someone who knows the truth and you will find the "Powers at be" like smooches and if you ever get in the infamous DOG HOUSE your career is over. No matter who you are. No less than eight of the best players in the group who most everyone thought had a REAL chance to compete for the State Championship are not on the team anymore. The entire starting backfield and two best linebackers from the undefeated Robertsville and then Freshmen team are on that list. Only one player from that list that I know of is playing football in Alabama for former Coach Joe Gaddis. Can the blame be put on the shoulders of the head guy now? Not every one of them BUT in the 40 years I have been following Oak Ridge Football I have NEVER EVER seen such a drop off. Good luck to all of the players this year. You CAN WIN even though your coach bites. By the way rabidwildcatfan have you gotten your facts straight yet? Don't believe everything you hear from your helplessly bogus sources. If you believe what you posted earlier YOU are the head case.
  16. Not whinning..[whining] so don't feel like you want [won't] need to below me and owe me
  17. fbwizzer...just when I thought your posting was as lame as it could get........................
  18. For anyone who might like to know Sir Pettus: http://www.decaturdaily.com/decaturdaily/s...809/level.shtml I hear the player you mentioned has been doing great...battled for the QB position with stiff competition and won...He broke a bone in his hand at Miss. State camp but will get his cast off soon. I also hear they want him to start at outside linebacker and punter. So tell 'rabidwildcatfan' he needs to check his contacts for reliability. By the way, tell rabid for some odd reason they sure don't think those ugly things rabid said either. [Edited by catwatch on 8-9-02 11:37P] Way to go Jason Rowan!
  19. ......................................................................................................ohreally...I could not believe it either...this story was not made up. I heard it from six people who were there. They couldn't have made it up as they told the same story. [Edited by 2bear2 on 8-6-02 1:30P]
  20. Well said CATWATCH..........GO WILDCATS!
  21. This really makes me that a Coach would do this it reminds me of a Coach that Sequatchie had a few years ago that is now in Upper East Tennessee who had a terrible personality. He was hardly involved in QB Club Plannig and was hard to talk to it didn't matter if you were a fan, a parent, or player. I know some players who would have quit the team but they loved to play the game to much. Coaches like this I think give football coaches a bad name as being selfish and only careing about them selves and winning and not the player, his parents or the community in which they coach! Very good SEQUATCHIE..... Believe it or not this "Coach" does not really care about winning....he gets his watch wound by being able to say who plays on friday nights.
