Jordan Damron IS the best shooter is East Tennessee.

I'd probably say Aaron Douglas, he was hardly challenged in the state tourney and he will only be stronger and better.

Maryville will be another strong contender this year and has a chance to win it all again. We only lost Maples and Basile, although they were good players, they did foul out of the State Championship game and the players returning this year were forced to carry the team and they did. Jordan Damron will be better. We still have Jay Renolds and Aaron Douglas. Ryan Click will play who hit the Game winning shot. Kyle Pickle will play and Wes Lambert. Our fan support will be much stronger this year and overall, I think they team will be much better. Coach Eldridge will know the team better too(last year was his first year).

Earl Boykins if 5-5, AI is 6-0, they seem to be doing fine in the NBA.

As most people know, Lee Humphrey was a Maryville star. I believe Lee will go pro and play the roll like Kyle Korver in Philly. With the Florida team winning back to back NC's for the first time since 91-92, I am guessing every starter of the team will be selected in the draft. Lee was also described as being the most prolific 3-point shooter in the tournament and his points and threes came up big in the national championship game. Lee had 14 points including the first bucket, I think, and 4 three pointers. Where do you all think he will end up in the future, try to name teams, like Lakers or whatnot even though it is hard. I think he will go to the Timberwolves (random guess)

Okay, look, Florida winning the National Championship was not a surprise. Maryville winning the Football State Championship is not a surprise. They are not surprises when people predict they will win early in the season. Did anybody pick Maryville to win the B-Ball State championship, not a single one at all. Their win was a huge awesome surprise and I am still waiting for coach west to finish the highlight video.

Why wasnt Tyler Maples there, he guarded Oglesby like he was a joke?

Well, I am a student at Maryville High school and I will say that is was quit a surprise. When the season started, I dont think 100 students in the school knew it. None of us, not even the basketball players expected to win the championship. I was surprised when we got into the state championship game, even surprised we beat science hill (who I believe is a good b-ball school) anyways, I thought we would get smashed in the first game against bradley, sort of like we did not belong there and we were jokers. Well, anyways, that first game gave us momentum I could feel. I though about the next game against whites creek and had a good feeling we could win. Unfortunately, so did the whites creek fans. Well, like usual, I was right and Maryville won. Now, the Maryville players before the tourney even started said they knew they were not going to win the state title. I am pretty sure after Oakland (the clear favorite) was beatin by Clarksville, the Maryville players knew they could win. They carried the momentum which appeared to be just enought to win. I am wainting now for the highlight video to come out, it will be sweet!

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Maryville just might win the 4A State Football Championship.

His name is kyle pickle, he is pretty good, I guess looks can be deceiving but he can school me.

Well, obviously Clarksville could not shoot in the first half, our Man to Man was to tough and douglas inside was getting in the way. Clarksville started to hurt us when they would drive inside and get to douglas then pass the ball under to another wide open guy for the easy layup.

I hope the gold ball will be in the office tomorrow.

did any of you see the two maryville students go to the clarksville student section and start cheering "Go Maryville." Another cheer I liked that was performed by Maryville was "You wear purple" to the clarksville section.

Yea, kind of dumb. In football, usually a player that is on a state championship contending team gets in like A-Doug, Maples, Warren, Lindsey, or someone like that. I think Chaisson could have gotten it or maybe even a maryville player. I guess that is something to look forward to next year.

Once again, thanks Powellfan for being behind the rebels through the tourney. I will always be behind the Panthers, except when we play each other.

For basketball, most of the guys played Parks and Rec I think, I know Lambert did when he was elementary and intermediate. Middle school came and they all played at Maryville Middle School and AAU. They were very successful, however, when maples was at MMS, the competition was higher and the team finished behind william blount. For football we have three levels most of the guys played for. There is the Little Rebs, the Southerners, and then the Rebs. Maples played for the Cubs and Bears (other Maryville little league teams.) He moved to Maryville in 8th grade and was the best Football and Basketball player at MMS. It is great to see these guys come such a long way.

Powellfan, you are a great guy. Thanks for being behind us through out this tournament and being a believer even though we were tha underdogs. I hope smack talkers like Bradletbearsguy, Maxus, and golfendude realize not to underestimate us. Once again, you are a real pal and a great person. It is unfortunate you guys lost. Yea, I agree, however, I thought that Maryville was getting tired at the end. The tired legs got to them in the beginning. I hope Golfendude sees how hard he was eating the crow and to never talk smack. Anyways, what a game and I am sure that that will be the best game I ever see, what a Cinderella story in TN. There was a poll earlier before the tourney started and Maryville I think was the biggest underdog, no one voted for them. WOW, what an excellent shot at the end. I went crazy.

Maryville is strongly representing East Tennessee. GO REBELS!!!
