  1. Who was a tougher team, Coffee County Or Riverdale? Should be like playing one of them. Anything can happen! Good Luck
  2. So Swann IS your dtr (we thought so!!) Gave yourself away some posts back) CC will be the team to beat and has been for some years. Good Luck to both teams and all of District 7AAA & 8AAA in the future
  3. Coffee County has been using 2 pitchers the freshman seems to get the job done better and a heck of a hitter! Both throw a lot of outside pitches. Seems to be CC's "thing". Good Luck to both 8AAA teams at State!! Should be fun to watch
  4. Hey, I'm with ya! I think that the eaglettes have just as much a chance as anyone in this district!!! The season is still very young, most teams still have at least 6 - 7 games to play. I love a good game!!! PLAY BALL /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  5. Looks like mustangsally, robotman, luckynumber3, big_joe, softballmom3 and 13mom are all from Shelbyville and need to get on the same page. Some are for the team and some are for individuals. Is there conflict amongst the parents?? 13mom is correct in saying it is TEAM sport and not an individual sport. If one position is weak that day you have to make up for them in other positions. Good Luck to all the teams in district 8AAA
  6. I as well don't know you Cat, but I have seen you pitch and was very impressed. I'm very glad your surgery went well!!! Good Luck with helping your team from the sidelines, the fat lady hasn't sung just yet!!! Look forward to wathcing you play for UT Knoxville.
  7. We know about Shelbyville and Columbia, what went wrong in CC? Have they ever lost 3 out of 4 district games?
  8. This district is apparently up for grabs right now!!!! It's waaaaaaay to early to tell!!!! Looks like everyone still has lots of games left to play. Everyone is on a more even playing field since teams don't get to play as many games before district play with the changes this year. I guess Shelbyville has just as good a chance as Tullahoma, Coffee County, Columbia and Lawrenceburg. It just depends on who wants it more. I'm sure all of the teams are wanting it just as bad as Shelbyville and deserve it just as much in their minds. Hasn't Coffee County or Lincoln Cty won this district the last 3-4 years? Or did Columbia win last year? EVERY pitcher is "hittable"!!!! Seems like the scores in this district have been pretty high. Some 10-0, 7-0, 6-1 and some have been very close. Is that bad pitching or just better hitting!!?? I don't think it is all about the pitcher. A pitcher can have a perfect game and still not have pitched good. It also means she has some great defense working behind her. Guess we will all have to just wait and see what happens. Good Luck to all the teams in this district. If all the teams play hard they will be much more fun to watch!!!
  9. Can we not let this thread die and start a new one about 2 other apparent rivalries!!!???? We all agree that District 8AAA has some awesome teams and players. Nobody knows who mrnoitall is, but he seems to be a Tullahoma Fan. (He or She is apparently not from there) But call it like it is, they are the Lady Cats, NOT KITTENS!!! Good Luck to ALL
  10. MRNOITALL:Obviously no one on coacht cares about your predictions!!!! If you ARE from Tullahoma, they are all probably embarrased about how you are carryng on about them. All it does it put un-needed pressure on the girls. They too have a young team and hitting is weak for them according to the low scores they have posted. No matter if they win or lose, GIVE IT A REST!!!!!!! I think everyone will be surprised by 8AAA this year. It could go any way. The comments in your posts about teams, coaches and predictions are mean and biased and everyone who reads these posts obviously feels the same way about them. You do know the girls read these also and I'm sure they don't appreciate them either. Do you want another person talking about your child or team the way you do!!!??? GOOD LUCK TO EVERY TEAM AND ALL THE DISTRICTS!!! (see how positive this comment is)
  11. This is where the old saying "If you can't say anything nice" comes into play. If something positive can come out of negativecomments that's one thing, but yours and 'chewinthefat' are just plan mean and ugly. If you were my parent, relative, friend or whatever, I would be embarrased to know you wrote all of that stuff about another parent, team or players. I'm sure all of us who read Coach T can't wait intil your child, friend, niece or whatever gets OUT of softball so we don't have to see your threads on here anymore!!!!!!! All the games I watched were great this year!!! Whether they were teams as good as Riverdale or Mt. Juliet to Tullahoma and Franklin Cty. I enjoyed watching the teams play, not bashing them. Good Luck to ALL teams next year!!!
  12. I have no cry in this either, but why are you so harsh against Riverdale!? All of the teams have some great and some not so great players on them. You get what your town has to offer and un-fortunately some towns like small ones don't have that much to choose from. Bigger towns have a better advantage. I would be proud of any team that made it to State!!! Do you say the same thing about your good players as you are about Cat? Yes, Cat is an awesome pitcher, but someone has to score the points to win games!!! Instead of 'justchewinfat', chew you tongue and stop being mean!!! GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS AT STATE!!!!
  13. So I'm to presume that you think Columbia has no chance against Soddy Daisy? They have done good so far.
  14. Everyone said that this would be an exciting end for 8AAA!!! Great job Lady Lions and Lady Wildcats. Great job Wildcats for holding on for 20 innings in a row. I heard Chelsey Jones pitched ALL 20 innings for the Wildcats and there were no sub outs for any other positions. Way to show everyone you could do it ladies. WOW!! Good Luck to both teams at regionals. Go get 'em.
  15. Tack that to the new thread that has just started about umpires, they can't be expected to see everything, like I said, it goes BOTH ways. Wish I had a solution, maybe spectators should try to ump one time and see how hard it is to watch everything!
  16. I wasn't blaming the umps either, read my later post! I well understood her post and her comments and I agree that it would be easier with more umps. There would be less errors if there were more.
  17. Pardon my LOUDNESS, I seem to make less mistakes typing if I type all caps.!!! I agree with the strike zone problem. Not just with our area, but ALL areas. One time the pitch will be a strike and the very next pitch will be at the same place and will be called a ball. Go figure??!! I have never seen a very consistent ump with the strike zone. The good thing is, that is usually works the same for both sides.
  18. YES I READ THE POST RIGHT!!! I WASN'T SAYING THIS FOR ANY PARTICULAR GAME!!! I HAVE READ SEVERAL OTHER THREADS THAT BLAME THE UMPS ALSO. THE BAD CALLS GO BOTH WAYS, I'M DEFINATELY NOT DENYING THAT!!!! I ALSO AGREE THAT THERE SHOULD BE 3 UMPS IN THE FIELD. ONE UMP CAN'T SEE 1ST BASE WHEN HE IS AT SHORTSTOP AND THE HOME UMP ISN'T USUALLY WATCHING LIKE THEY SHOULD BE. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING FOR EVERYONE (INCLUDING THE UMPS). YOU COUNLD'NT PAY ME ENOUGH MONEY TO UMP A GIRLS SOFTBALL GAME. AS SPECTATORS WE CAN BE VERY BAD. THE UMPS TAKE A LOT OF GRIEF, THEY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO MAKE BOTH TEAMS HAPPY.
  19. WHY IS IT WHEN TEAMS LOSE THEY ALWAYS BLAME THE UMPS!!!? THEY WAY I HEARD IT TULLAHOMA PLAYED JUST AS HARD AS COFFEE COUNTY PLAYED AND DESERVED TO WIN JUST AS MUCH!!!!! AND THE UMP WAS CALLING LOW PITCHES FOR ONE TEAM AND NOT THE OTHER. THE CALLS SEEM TO GO BOTH WAYS EITHER IN THE PITCHING OR BASES. IT'S A WASH EITHER WAY. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF THE TEAMS.
  20. TULLAHOMA 5 VS LINCOLN CTY 2 WHAT AN EXCITING GAME! LADY CATS CAME ALIVE IN THE 5TH AND 6TH INNINGS. MADE SOME ERRORS IN THE 4TH TO ALLOW LC TO GET 2 RUNS. CATS CAME BACK AND GOT THE LEAD BACK THOUGH. TULLAHOMAS OFFENSE IS GETTING THEIR "SWING" BACK. LC PLAYED WELL ALSO FOR LOSING SO MANY SENIORS THIS YEAR. JONES AND DUKE DID A VERY GOOD JOB ALSO. DISTRICT 8AAA IS SHOWING TO BE VERY COMPETITIVE AND A LOT MORE EVEN THAN YEARS PAST. GOOD LUCK TEAMS!
  21. THEY ARE THE NUMBER 1 & 2 TEAMS RIGHT NOW, SHOULD BE A VERY EXCITING GAME TO WATCH. I THINK IT WILL COME DOWN TO A PITCHERS DUEL. BOTH DEFENSES ARE GOING TO HAVE TO BE TOUGH SINCE THEY BOTH HAVE A STRONG LINE-UP. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH. I THINK IT WILL BE A VERY LOW SCORING BALL GAME.
  22. I DON'T KNOW, LAWRENCE CTY HAS GREAT PITCHING AND A GREAT LINE-UP AND DEFENSE EQUALED IF NOT BETTER. SOME TEAMS HAVEN'T PLAYED AS MUCH AS CC HAS PLAYED THIS YEAR ALREADY, SOME TEAMS ARE JUST GETTING WARMED UP. I GUESS ONLY TIME WILL TELL. AGAIN, GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS!!!
  23. WOW!!!! THIS DISTRICT IS GOING TO BE VERY UN-PREDICTABLE. SO FAR, NOBODY HAS IT PICKED RIGHT!!!!!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT LAWRENCE CTY WOULD BE UN-DEFEATED AFTER 2 YEARS AGO WINNING NO DISTRICT GAMES!!? WAY TO GO. THE PITCHING IS VERY COMPETITIVE THIS YEAR, SOME TEAMS SEEM TO HAVE STARTED OUT SLOW BUT ARE OBVIOUSLY PICKING IT UP. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF DISTRICT 8AAA. MOST OF THE GAMES I'VE BEEN TO HAVE BEEN VERY EXCITING TO WATCH.
