  1. Sorry for the mistake there Mexico. The only thing is Notre Dame has played some good teams and their district top three is in a dog fight for first and second just like Centrals and Polks. It should get interesting. Will you be at Central today or Castillo's? LOL!! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  2. I am not the least bit sensitive. I am a Polk fan but also a critic. I have ripped Polk on this board for not playing a stronger schedule and for getting on this board and talking trash but you a Central fan cannot say anything about having a weak schedule. If you really look at both schedules, you can't say that either schedule is really that much stronger than the other. Both are close to the bottom when it comes to strength of schedule. As for Florida I have played there alot and don't much care for it mostly a bunch of southern yankees and it's too hot. I quess that's why you enjoy it, it reminds you of home! BTW if you have so many friends in these places why don't you get Coach Hart to schedule some of these games, I am sure they would like to see that tampon box blue crawling off the bus as well but I quess their schedule was full when Coach Hart called them huh? LOL!! As for Single A, I am not leaving them out I would play anyone who has a strong team. Here is something for you to think about while choking down that burrito for lunch. No matter what happens, no team in this district will go to the state and it will be a safe bet that no one makes it out of the region!! If you believe otherwise you can have my appointment with the shrink!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  3. In this district going to the region does not mean anything! If you get past the region you can say you have done something and to the best of my knowledge none of you have done that so all of you are chokers. Until you have done something besides place 1 and 2 in this weak district close your mouth and play ball!!
  4. I have said all along that Polk's schedule was very very weak, but have watched them play and they have confidence. In baseball confidence is everything. As for Central you talk about your hard schedule, it may be just a little harder than Polk's but not much. So you played Powell, Loudon, McMinn and those Florida teams that no one seen but you guys and you lost all six of those non-district games. BTW Florida teams are no better talent wise than TN teams. Florida teams have better weather to practice year around, so when their season starts they are usually in top form where TN teams are not in top form until the end of the season this is the ONLY difference. So stop talking about those games in Florida we were not there they could have been terrible but I quess were suppose to take your word for it that they would have been state champs if they would have played in TN. As for Coach Hart do you think ol Travis would put together that hard of a schedule, he knows that he is expected to win and if you think he would jeopardize a winning season by putting together a hard schedule your kidding yourself!! If I wanted to put together a very tough schedule I would be playing all 3A schools outside of my district games which btw is terrible except for three teams. These 3A teams would be; Cleveland, Ooltewah, Red Bank, Soddy Daisy, Bradley, Maryville, Walker Valley, Baylor, McMinn etc.
  5. I can read but you do not make any sense as usual. Basically your saying Central can't hit good pitching and that they will lose to Meigs but beat Polk. I hate to tell you my friend but Polk's pitching is very comparable to Meigs and probably has more depth especially if Will Phillips is back. I have doubted Polk's pitching myself and I admit it but they have done a good job. The key to Polk is their starters have to go 5-6 innings so they don't have their relievers throwing 80-90 pitches. If they do this and keep producing runs you never know what might happen in this district! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I still say Central could split with Meigs but not sweep. I have more faith in Central than you do. Ahh yes! I forgot your a faithful fan, your throwing this bunk philosophy out there in case they do get swept so you won't have to eat crow!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  6. With Central's offensive powerhouse and the run production you have been talking about how could you say Meigs should win both games. Sounds like you have some doubts about that solid hitting 1-9 lineup you referred to in another post. LOL! Seriously, I think the Chargers are getting better as the season progresses which could be bad for Polk but I think the absolute best Central can do is split with Meigs and Polk. I just don't think they can sweep either of the two. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

That was a joke! Please if you have not seen it go rent the movie Bull Durham its one of the greatest baseball movie classics ever and you will understand the joke!! Very funny movie and gives you an idea of what goes on in minor league baseball. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  8. Sorry but I can't help but to reply to this! No one is making any excuses! I said in an earlier post Meigs won the game outright! You need to read all the post before showing your ignorance! BTW your comment "If you can't defend your on turf then quit complaining and making excuses" makes no sense whatsoever this is not a gang war its a BASEBALL game and Meigs lost AT HOME also and no one is saying Meigs cheated and no one is making excuses for Polk losing. I also like the fact that some of you that reply to these post just argue about irrelevant things. I should have learned by now that you can't argue with stupidity or ignorance!!
  9. I guess when you guys beat Polk in football you all just politely filed out of the bleachers and celebrated in your cars on the way home? I am not knocking Roberts but Memphis is not exactly a baseball powerhouse, so don't knock on Davis and Roane State! Speaking of CLASS you have none on here talking about one brother vs the other despite your opinion!! People like you is why its easy to prove the argument!! I am done with this posts you people are way off. If I had known this I would not have started it!!
  10. I have been to Meigs, Central and Polk games for along time and I can assure you Meigs and Central are just as guilty! I remember last year at the end of the basketball tourney at Cleveland State players and fans for Central were calling the manager for Polk who is a Special ED student "Radio" when Polk went out to accept their award and he was standing out on the floor with the team. This was totally innapropriate and started an even bigger problem between the two schools and it carried over to this past season. As with the situation with a couple of Polk player's in basketball this year, IMHO this should have been taken care of by the Polk's coach and the school aministration but it wasn't and that is a shame. I was told the players were warned by the principal and the school superintendent but they did not follow through with the discipline of one of the player's even after they had warned the whole team about starting anything. I later heard from a parent that they did discipline one particular player by suspending him then changed it to ISS but they ended up not making him serve either one and he never missed a game. IMO they dropped the ball big time and this will affect the schools athletic program for a while as far as problems at Central games with students and parents. Also students should not be allowed to sit in the opposing teams bleachers I know a student from Meigs got into it with some parents from Polk which is classless on both sides. So I will be consistent, I will not defend or make excuses when it comes to not making students and players act like respectful and responsible young adults. I am a firm believer that a schools students and athletes are a direct reflection on the school, community and the parents. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

    Is his real name Ebby Calvin 'Nuke' LaLoosh. Is that a new league record! LOL!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  12. As for a person I think Clint Baker is a good guy but how he handles his team is questionable. I have known lots of great guys but when coaching they lack some discipline and usually these coaches do not last long because without discipline most teams are not successful. However, Meigs has had alot of talent over the past 8-9 years and this is due to their good little league program getting the player's fundamentally ready before high school. As an example the previous coach did not have much discipline but his teams won because of the talent he had. If my posts implied that I was questioning Clint's morals or values I apologize to him and everyone that was bothered by my statements, but Roberts made a bad decision and even if the ump did not do anything I feel that Clint should have at least set him straight. As stated in a previous post it was unecessary for Roberts to shove Qualls he was not holding him down he was just blocking the plate and actually Qualls was raising up when the incident happened. I agree 100% about coaches and parents setting better examples. If you give your team rules and expectations to go by then you should be willing to enforce them no matter who the player is, it only takes one or two times of making examples and the rest of the team will conform because they know that you will not tolerate anything. I have found that most students/players will do what's expected of them if you are consistent with your discipline. However one time of not punishing a student or player because of who their parents are or if they are the best player then you lose all credibility with your team and parents! I am not saying this was the case with Tyler Roberts but my philosophy in general. I do think he is a good kid but good kids make some bad decisions sometimes and I feel this was one of them that could have cost his team the game if he had been ejected because he was doing a great job on the mound and at the plate. I am not biased if it was a Polk player he should have been tossed also and Coach Triplett should have been on him. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  13. If the shoe fits wear it and it fits!! BTW I am not talking about everyone from Meigs there are some good people over there but for a few of the others when it comes to sports they go way overboard and I know this is true at Polk and Central too but just not as many.
  14. I am sure you are much more mature and sophisticated than everyone else since your also on this message board reading and then posting your .02!! Has beens or never was; BTW I am willling to bet that some of those has beens that was there Tuesday has played more baseball than you have ever seen or played!!
  15. I'll remind you about wine if you drink too much it will give you the squirts and that's what you are filled with. If he's a wine then I guess April '07 was a good year!! Remember opinions are like buttholes everyone has one and most stink. That was just my evaluation of your team. So you guys got hot so what! I'ts like I told Crutchfield from Polk, hitting comes and goes in streaks you can go from feast to famine in a week or even a game. So enjoy the ride and quit drinking too much Hart flavored wine then getting on here and squirting off at the mouth!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  16. Pounder Cero Dos, Maybe you need to go back to Spanish class . encima de su extremo = upon its end.
  17. In my post I said Meigs beat Polk plain and simple. However the incident at the plate was not just a little push. Qualls left his feet and landed on the back of his shoulders, this is when Roberts should have been ejected! BTW there is a big difference in playing hard and flagrantly shoving another player off his feet. As for Coach Baker you cannot tell me that he has discipline on his team especially after watching him gleam with pride after Roberts pushed Qualls and then get his players together trying to motivate them even more. Some of your own people have said that as long as Meigs is winning Coach Baker does not care what his team does, sounds alot like Coach Webb. Oh yes Baker was Webbs assistant and I know you don't want to even go there. I will tell you one thing if I'm the coach and one of my players does something like that I'm in his butt I don't care if we are winning by 20 or down by 1. Another thing what if that escalated in a brawl which it very well could have then what? This is why the ump has to take control of the situation. If that had happened monday the Polk fans and umps would have had to fist fight to get out of Decatur. As for what some of Polk's players done while playing other sports I don't agree with that either they should also have been punished or even dismissed from the team. However, none of Polk's students ever went over to MCHS during school hours and tried to fight one of their students but I guess thats O.K. because he was provoked. I will say this if you have ever listened to a football game on the radio or there at the game while your beloved Tigers were playing, the broadcasters and the fans are the most classless people in the world talking about the other team and making comments over the P.A. So lets get off the righteous kick you guys are the pot calling the kettle black. Last thing; Roberts did not stick it down anyones throat it was a good game that either team could have won, Polk left several players stranded as did Meigs.
  18. Why admit I'm wrong when I am not. I guess your loving Hart as of right now but those grapes will sour if you don't go to the region tourney. As I said about other teams anyone can get hot, big deal. That does not mean you guys are world beaters by no means. I was not there, who knows 20 of those hits could have been texas leaguers or swinging bunts that Sweetwater could not field so telling me you had 32 HITS means absolutely nothing and another thing is I don't really care if you guys had 50 hits, your still front runners and you have not proved anything by beating Sweetwater and you sure have not proven anything to me! So keep on telling yourselves how good the mighty chargers are, the only ones believing you is your fans and over the recent years they have proven themselves to fall for anything! The only good competition you guys have faced has been losses for you so go figure! Where were those 16 HITS PER GAME against those 8 teams that shoved a hot burrito encima de su extremo!! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  19. Did you actually have 32 hits or did you count ROE's also? Speaking of errors how many did they have in your big offensive showing. As for someone calling Coach Hart to ask advise, you apparently killed alot of brain cells swimming the Rio Grande. What's bad is you Central players and fans get on here and blow your own horn and you guys have done nothing since Shamblin left so toot toot. One minute your talking about getting rid of Hart and the next your blowing him up. Love him or hate him make up your mind, Oh I forgot you guys are front runners!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  20. He was not showing him the ball he was trying to show him that Roberts had not made it to the plate and it lasted maybe 5 seconds! It does not matter how long it lasted, it was flagrant contact by Roberts no excuses and he should have been ejected!!
  21. Crutch your exactly right! That is exactly what I saw. Qualls was showing the umpire that Roberts never made it to the plate nothing more.
  22. First, congratulation's to Meigs on the win. I finally got to the game last night and what I saw was sad and disappointing. I know what I am about to say is going to ruffle some feathers and probably get me bashed by the Meig's faithful but I would say the same thing if it were anyone else. One of the most disappointing thing's to me was Coach Baker and the incident at the plate and how he reacted. I could not beleive he did not chew Roberts a new one after the shove of Qualls to the ground which was totally uncalled for and this was after he was called safe, also doing something stupid like that could have cost his team the game if he had been ejected which he should have been because it was intentional. Instead Coach Baker runs over throws a bat toward the dugout, gets his team together and encourages them after the third out. I was told after the game by a Meigs parent that there was a fist fight in the dugout between two of Meigs's players. This shows Meigs has no discipline whatsoever. I lost a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Baker, I have felt that he was a class act for a long time but I guess all these years of coaching has mellowed him. I was also disappointed in their play, they were not as good as I was expecting. On another note; I feel this in my heart, if your a coach you should expect as much out of your players as you would your own children. The players are a reflection of you as a coach and the school you both represent. Meigs beat Polk outright. I'm not saying that Polk got cheated. I think this is happening in alot of athletic programs all over the state with the coaches not having any discipline and this starts with the players parents being supportive of the coaches also. If you look at all the very successful programs the one thing they have in common is their coaches are strict disciplinarians there may be a few exeptions but not many.
  23. Well if I make out a schedule and get beat when the season has started those games count period!!! So count 'em and don't pad your won/loss record!! Playing Sequoyah twice back to back is a little different than spreading it out. As I have stated earlier this district is very very weak so it means nothing to me for you to brag about your offensive accomplishments. I have seen Sweetwater play and I feel they have streaky hitters and commit alot of errors on defense and basically not that good but they can sneek up on you if your not prepared. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  24. Don't worry about it, all is good with me. Sorry if it rubbed me wrong, I was just proud for you guys! Good luck today! Hope you guys break out the broom on the tigers. No can't make it to this one but I will be getting reports every inning. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
