Sir, Farragut did not make it out of District play.

What did Farragut do last year? That is what Ritz is doing this year. What ever it takes to get to the Fling using the one that will get him there. Joyce will pitch in reserve if needed.

Science Hill plans on starting Hoilman (according to the press) against WB. He has not pitched since last week in districts. The Toppers still have a few innings left in Byrne, Anderson and Howell (if his ankle is better). I am hoping WB can win this one. My advice is hit them early and play good defense. LOL to WB.

It will be a close game. Joyce did not pitch because Ritz gave # 3, # 4 and # 5 pitchers a little more pitching time. Lots of Luck Friday night to both teams.

I talked to several Morristown West fans, in fact, I have family in that area. Morristown West fans and players showed a lot of class in that game. Morristown West had nothing to hang their heads about. They played a great game and fought hard. They had a good pitcher and I wish all their Seniors luck on playing at the next level. Science Hill may see a pitcher they have not seen or faced before. Hope that his game is on and the defense is behind him. Hope that offense will start early and hold for the game so DB can win. You ar absolutely right! It is TOURNAMENT TIME and anything can happen in any given game. It seems that best come out in teams at tournament time. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

The pitcher that Farragut saw the first 4 1/3 innings was not the "ACE" for DB. That was the # 3 pitcher. DB was ahead of Farragut when the first pitcher started having pain in his shoulder. That same pitcher has pitched against Knoxville All-Star teams for a long time and he helped his team beat those All-Stars. Yes DB did bring their # 1 pitcher when # 3 was taken out. Now you have to take in consideration that it was in March, on a cold night and the season had just started. NOW it is MAY, regular season is over and it is TOURNAMENT time. Here is a little inside info for ALL the Knoxville teams. The Senior bunch from DB has played in Knoxville Tournaments since they were "little squirts" and have come home with 1st Place trophy's! They played against ALL-STAR teams from Knoxville. Against some of the players from Halls, Karns, South Doyle, Farragut, Bearden, Maryville, etc. The players on the ALL-STAR teams are all separated now BUT the BOYS from DB are TOGETHER and are having a fantastic year! Knoxville beware, the boys from the "other" K-Town is rolling like a steam-engine and clicking on all clinders now. Good Luck to All in the Playoffs! GOING WITH THE VIBES! ROLLING WITH THE TRIBE!

If I remember correctly Farragut pitched another pitcher against Karns and lost. Farragut did save Catapano for DB and did not use him against Karns. Halls did the same thing in 2004. This is the year for DB. DB and Science Hill beat South Doyle respectively. Farragut won that game in March by a slim margin ( 1 RUN) in nine innings. I AM GOING WITH THE VIBES AND ROLLING WITH THE TRIBE!

Have they been named to have the winningest program in the state? I don't think so! Take a look at the schools that have had very few loses over the last few years. This is what get you the rankings.

Well, it sounds like some people think they have it in the bag! South Doyle, Barlett, Oakland and maybe Farragut are all GOOD teams, but there is a NEW DOG in the house that plans on upsetting everyone. This NEW DOG has a few tricks that no one has seen and is coming from the East. So, fellas don't count those chickens that you're HATCHIN' , cause you could end up getting CHOPPED. LOL in the playoffs!

I look at who plays who and when they play them. I would place South Doyle and Oakland in the top rankings but you have other "dark horses" in the race that can pull an upset by losing a game to advance in another. It is like playing cards knowing when to hold 'em and knowing when to fold 'em. Using pitchers at the right time. LOL in the playoffs.

It seems to me everyone is forgetting....it is tournament time and anything/everything can happen. Even the winning teams lose to a team that could not have won a game all year. It does not matter who is polled/ranked higher than anyone else........it is the team that is ahead that wins. Whether it be Oakland, Barlett, South Doyle or a team that everyone expects to choke in the playoffs....the team that finishes ahead make it all the way. I like seeing the rivalry between the schools/players/fans. So good luck to everyone in the playoffs.

State poll rankings are not only based on this years standings alone but wins / loses over the last several years. You have to look at past records as well as current ones. How many games they have won overall not just for the current year. How many times a team has ranked nationally or on the state level. All this plays into your rankings.

It sounds like Dirty Chuck is counting chickens before they hatch!!!!! It may have a nice ring to it but don't count 2 other East TN teams out. I do have to agree on one thing, SD is tough but it will all come down to who has more pitching left. To go all the way you need more than 3 pitchers. A team that is 6 pitchers deep (I mean good pitchers) with 2-3 good relievers can go the distance. I know a team now that is clicking on all clinders and they proved it today with a win. LOL to the Cherokees----hope to see you in the playoffs.

Well, Science Hill and DB played the Cherokees today. Seems that the Toppers took the tops off the Cherokees and Indians gave them a chopping. The Cherokees lost both games with the score: Science Hill 3......South Doyle 2 / DB 3.......South Doyle 2. Both games was good close games. Got to give SD a hand because they are a tough bunch. To add to the SD "dream team", DB has its own "dream team" with 12 Seniors that have been playing together since the age of 8/9 yr. olds. Kind of have to agree with you on these choices. I do feel that if Science Hill or DB come out against Oakland it will be a good game. Oakland is playing good ball right now but you have DB ranked #2 behind them at this point. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

DB has a left fielder that has not only a cannon for an arm but has the wheels to cover a lot of ground fast and can dive to come up with the ball in his glove. I have seen him rob several of over-the-fence HRs easily. He also plays center field along with pitching. This one is one of the best that I have seen in a long time. DB also has 2 other outfielders that are fast in the outfield as well. Not many balls hit the ground when they are playing.
