    11-AAA

What? Was at the Franklin v. Indy game on Friday and Franklin looked pretty strong. No major injuries on the soccer field that night and looked like the team was playing with all their starters....please elaborate!
  2. The play was clean. Ther Independence player stopped and the Columbia goalie came out on a full sprint and couldn't stop. It was a bad call that gave Independence a PK on the back-up goalkeeper. Putting them up 2-1 and Columbia went on full attack and Independence got another, taking advantage of the pressure. Even if it wasn't a straight red card...everyone is forgetting to mention that the goalkeeper had already had a yellow card for kicking the ball away in the first half. It was not a malicious foul, but a hard foul in the penalty area none the less....it would've drawn a card in any match...too bad the goalie was on a yellow. As we all know, many matches have been won and lost in stoppage time. Players play hard, fouls happen, cards are given and teams score goals......Indy won.....MOVE ON!!!!!

    Best In Mid TN

Franklin v. Indy 1-1 Tough fought battle by both teams. Franklin had clearly more shots on goal, but as with most of the games in the 11-AAA it was played with alot of emotion by both teams. I would say Franklin has one of the best defensive units in 11-AAA with 3 seniors (Caleb Steen, Chad Leake, Ty Rust) and one junior (Omar Djabi) - all of which are quality Division 1 Club players in the area. Good match....I expect the whole season to be very similar when the 11-AAA teams play each other.
  4. Interesting selection by the Tennessean....what happened to some of the other notables from key schools around the area?? Looks like some schools and players got snubbed! Father Ryan: John Rohlings (Mid/Def) - Univ of Southern Indiana signee Kyle Stoney (Mid) Franklin: Caleb Steen (Def) - Trevecca signee Garrett Daniels (Mid) Omar Djabi (Def) Conner Inman (Mid) Hendersonville: Bryce Childers (F/Mid) - 92 ODP Ryan Odum (F/Mid)- 93 ODP Independence: Nick Dykes (Def) - ETSU signee, 92 ODP Regional Team (travelling internationally this Spring), 09 All-State Blake Farmer (Mid/Def) - Carson Newman signee, 92 ODP Landon Foster (GK) - 94 ODP Regional Team (travelled internationally) Brentwood: Alex Blanton (GK) - 92 ODP Regional Pool Kenny Ra (F) - 93 ODP Centennial: Tyson Adkinson (Mid) - 91 ODP Regional Pool Blackman: Ryan Zeeck (F) Clarksville: Zack Caracillio (F) CPA: Will Cross (F) - 94 ODP Regional Team (travelled internationally 2 times) Can't name everybody, but it would've been nice if the Tennessean would've done this as they have in the past and gone school to school in the MidState area and named a couple of notables because there are some great players (as mentioned above) that didn't get a mention. No wonder soccer is so strong in the Middle Tennessee area....we have some great players around us!
  5. Only one player???? Haven't seen Farragut play yet, but what about all the juniors that play on FC Alliance 92 club team - 92 D1 State Champs & Disney Champs - Matlock, Stinton, Muth, Jordan, Petersen, Eddy, and possibly one or two more. Not to mention any possible players from the '91 Liverpool team. Looks to me like there is easily more than one "really good" player on Farragut's team. I'm sure it will be a great game!
  6. Will be interesting to see when they play Brentwood, IHS, and the others from 11 AAA.....does anyone know when those games will occur? Although Brentwood might have lost quite a few players from last year, they still have alot of club and odp players also...should be a good match up!
  7. Cool! Who's looking at Saunders....it's always great when guys from TN get to go to big schools.

    7AAA

what did you think of Indy?
  9. I agree with Max Herrera. Very good player. Haven't heard of Luke Mishu. Is he ODP? I know that IU usually only looks at Regional or National Pool players. Good luck to him.
  10. Yes. Both teams are strong. Brentwood lost a couple of key players in the championship game due to injury, but FC Alliance was the much stronger team that day. They are good and the Knoxville High School teams should be strong again this year because of the boys coming from this team.
  11. TNFC 92 blue, 93 blue, 95 blue and 97 blue from last year have all gone to Brentwood.
  12. Any score in tonight's game?
  13. I know this will be a very close game. I disagree that Hendersonville has had a stronger schedule. Don't forget...Indy has had to make it out of the 11AAA which is a very hard district and have played Centennial 2 times and Brentwood 3 times in the past 3 weeks (each time getting stronger and narrowing the gap). Independence is peaking at the right time......they will win 2-0.
  14. Brentwood beats Independence in 2nd period of Golden Goal with 2 mins to go. Brentwood scored on a Corner Kick. Both teams played hard and with a lot of heart. After 107 mins of soccer, I think both teams left the field looking forward to Saturday's Sectional games.
  15. Indy beats McGavock 2-0 IHS dominated possession and McGavock never really had a shot. Nick Dykes #20 Central Defender carried ball the length of the field and scored Indy's first goal mid first half. Ben Gaines #21 scored again in second half. Eagles will be playing the winner of BHS v. Glencliff on Thursday for the Regional Championship.
  16. Regarding the Indy/Centennial game and as it goes for most close fought battles on the field, the team with the fewest mistakes often win.....Indy captialized when they needed to and didn't make too many mistakes of their own. As I said in my earlier post, it was a great game with both teams showing a ton of heart and playing hard. Indy's playing tough right now.....could be the upset of the century in the making for tonight's final!
  17. Centennial was not better tonight ..... IHS beats CHS 2-0 Tough fought game on both sides. Both teams played with alot of heart....IHS rotated players which kept them from ever getting one dimensional. IHS goalie came up with a couple of great saves and their midfield worked very hard all night. Any predictions for the final? Brentwood v. IHS?
  18. My predictions..... IHS beats CHS 2-0 IHS has been beaten up about not having a general on the field and not being able to take command when times get tough. When Hillsboro tied it up 1-1 in the second half of last nights game ...several of the team rose to the occasion to put Hillsboro away and clinch the 4-1 victory. It will be a nail biter against Centennial, but IHS' "team" effort will prevail. Brentwood beats Franklin 3-0 Brentwood has a very talented group on the field that have played in high level games both in club and in high school. Franklin will not be able to contend with the constant pressure Brentwood will apply.
  19. Moses Sixtos for Independence has 19 goals.
  20. Independence 2 - 1 Collierville Anybody know who Independence play in the final?

    Rankings Week 6

It has never been about the number of students in one area or county.... The original post was that because 6 of the top 12 teams ranked were "West Knoxville" teams that it meant West Knoxville has the most talented concentration of players. My reply was only to show that Williamson County will never have the concentration of players per school, i.e. 2300+ (Farragut), 2100+(Bearden) because Williamson has so many schools that the talent gets distributed amongst them very equally. The private schools in both Nashville (MBA, BGA, CPA, Father Ryan, etc) and Knoxville (Webb, CAK, Catholic, etc) are very equivalent, so you can even take them out of the mix. Imagine if Brentwood and Ravenwood were combined rather than split...Franklin and Independence also...the fact is that the strong teams in AAA Region 11 have to play each other and by beating and tying one another, I believe it hurts these teams in overall rankings.....but rankings will change from ranker to ranker....what matters is that we give every area of the State respect for the soccer talent it holds!

    Rankings Week 6

Thanks for the figures. I'm not going to continue to debate the matter. Obviously both areas have very talented players. I think it shows in the rankings. But my vote still goes to Williamson County. We've divided up alot of our talent amongst the different high schools, but even with this division, we have some very good teams.
