  1. O...I'm fine. Its been cool talking to most of ya'll. C11 is like the king of CoachT lol. I really thought the game the other night was too close and too exciting for either team to talk any trash. I have been a reader on CoachT for years. Have been a member for awhile as well. I don't post much because I am a coach on baseball team and I don't like tor ruffle any feathers during the season. So I get on here for entertainment. But, during football season I am not a coach lol, so I like to take part in the conversation. Don't let the 23-24 posts mislead you. I have been a part of MTC for a good while.
  2. Wow...so we do nothing aside from respect Cascade for winning the game, and you obviously on the team, want to get on here and talk trash like ya'll blew the game out. Let me remind you that you were losing for a large portion of the game. And I know you will come back with it so i will beat you to it, you did lead when it mattered most. But, jeez dude are you serious. Learn to play the game on the field and let fans diagnose how YOU play. Because one day (Maybe Friday) that big mouth is gonna catch up with you. I wish I could change my vote...I dislike the disrespectful. For this Friday...Go Rockets!!! Sounds like Cascade needs a humbling game.
  3. I agree that #32(Coats) and also #5(Miller) need the ball more. Sometimes we seem way to focused on the ball to 2 certain people. One in passing and only handing the ball off to one person. To stubborn at times. I mean yeah it was the last play of the game but Coats looked like a bullet on that handoff, plowed thru one tackle and hurt the final guy that tackled him. HE NEEDS MORE TOUCHES. Good game both teams and stay up MTC
  4. First off I'll give congrats to Cascade as hard as I find that to do. Lol. I get tired of seeing them on the W side of the column in our matchups. Second I give huge props to MTCS. Program has come a LONG way. Tonight we once again struggled in the red zone early. Wound up hurting as we knew it would. We were gonna have to play very good to perfect to give us a chance, and that just didn't happen. Unbelievable first half....but I think our numbers caught up with us in the late 3rd and then the 4th quarters. It was obvious we were getting tired, and seemed like Cascade was still fresh. Hints the fast fresh legs on the punt return TD which was a blow. Good job by both teams, and we will get there as numbers grow. Look forward to hearing from C11. Hope O'Charleys did ya'll right. BTW......Huge applause to the Cascade band. Very loud and impressive. Some may not have noticed this, but the band took a break after halftime for awhile. The first time they played in the 2nd half was while the punt (that was returned for TD) was in the air. Odd coincidence
  5. ??? Why so angry. People calm down. Let the boys take out the anger on Friday nights.
  6. I can promise you I was not at the soccer game...soccer in my eyes equals another form of conditioning, only with a ball and no scores, runs, points, or purpose. Ha Ha. I'll stick with baseball and football to occupy my interest. By the way, the vote is almost back to 50/50. Shaping up to be a great night!!!
  7. Awesome weather. Getting into true football season now. I love the fall nights.
  8. I think that could be likely finish yes. And I am just a believer in trying to stay under the radar as much as is possible. No need to add fuel to the fire. Its already going to be a hyped up enough game.
  9. I get off work at 6. I will be heading straight from there to the game. Friday night lights aren't on year round so I like to get as much of the atmosphere as I can. I am confident we can win, but calling 3-4 touchdowns ??? goodness
  10. Big game is tomorrow!!! And while I am confident in our team...I am honestly confused by some of our fans overconfidence. lol. I think people forget we were 2-8 last season. I think we need to do more than beat Perry County, a down Nash Chr team, and Eagleville in a monsoon by a pick 6 before we start bragging too much. Let's let the season play out and earn respect not demand it. Guess I'm the only logical fan.
  11. Ha Ha thats great. I found it odd myself. I thought it was weird the 1st time
  12. I can't till Friday...anticipation is killing me
  13. Ahh...sorry for the misunderstanding. Guess I wasn't around for that quote
  14. I wish I knew how anyone from MTCS thinks there is reason to trash talk. We are a returning 2-8 football team. Earn respect before you add fuel to the fire. By the way, I am an MTCS fan just so there is no confusion.
  15. I continue to hear the talk of the unbalanced offense...there has only been one game this year that the cougars have struggled to run. Jo Byrns made them one dimensional. I am an alumni of MTCS, and although I could not attend last Fridays game, word made it sound like simply passing was the better option. If there defense up front was as stout as it sounds, which obviously 6 redzone attempts and 1 TD speaks volumes on, then maybe passing was simply the working option. At some point its not that a team can't run the ball, its just that the team they are playing has an incredible defense against it. This week is a big game for the Cougars and I see it being an extremely exciting game. I know the coaches will have the boys ready, and for these 2 schools, I think it is safe to say this game is getting to the level of a rivalry. In all sports, especially on the diamond in the spring. I will not pick a winner in this one because I have not seen Cascade play, but as a fan I can say the improvement to Cougar football is night and day. You can find me in the MTC bleachers come Friday. I'll be hoping for a good one. See ya'll there. Good luck to both squads
  16. I'm fairly certain he is staying
  17. Rutherford Cty school systems is correct...but as has been stated MTCS is a private school so they create their own salary levels. To put this as nicely as I can, most teachers at MTCS are not driving around town in BMW's. It was a great opportunity for Bassham and his family. I consider it a pleasure to have played for him and coached with him. In no way is this reasoning to do with unhappiness, he just simply found a program that is pretty comparable to where he is leaving with more financial comfort. He will be missed and we wish him the best(except for 3-4 games a year in our rivalry lol)
  18. AGREED!!! Stop crying and play ball. Congrats to JCS. Beat a good team in Huntingdon.
  19. I agree that it is 1 team not 9 players...but you can't honestly say that Smyrna has a ligit shot at state without Sonny. I hate it for him, but he still has a very bright future. Yes it takes 9 players and not one, but without him on the hill through the tourney they are not state championship hopeful. Not to mention the HUGE bat that is being taken out of the lineup. But thats just my $.02. Either way, stinks for Sonny but keep your head up. Injuries heal, and yes I agree REST will be good. Good luck to SHS.
  20. I was at this game and yes Forrest hands down controlled the game. MTCS never really had a shot. Forrest has set up a great program and is probably going to have a chance to add another ring to the trophy case this year. However, I was very shocked at the end of the game for the adult fans....NOT the student section to begin chanting over rated. 1st off how are we over rated if we were the 2 seed and we were beat by the 1 seed??? Aren't you supposed to lose...hints what an upset is??? Thats just a side thought though. 2nd why are adults(30-60) yr old parents standing up and pumping their fists at our girls as they walk back to the benches for the awards ceremony. What an embarassment to not only Forrest but to how serious some people take these games. At the end of the day... a game is just a game. I really do apologize to our girls for how they were treated and wish it would not have happened. It truly is a shame. Grow up
  21. LOL How great would that be. Well i guess we could i don't know and guess at how teams will fill holes all day long. But we'll just leave it alone i guess. I will keep up with you guys throughout the year. Practice starts tomorrow and i'm ready to see how my kids are looking. This is not the head MTC coach either. Just so no misunderstanding comes up. I probably won't say much else on here. I dont like starting anything of "fueling fires" during the season. I feel i have been positive in my thoughts and dont want any hard feelings to serve as momentum in a key game this year. LOL. Hope for a great year!!! And looking forward to reading you guys thoughts, See ya on the field
  22. Yeah Blackwell can shut down anybody on his good days. I forgot about Levi Bain, as bad as i hate to admit it. He was a good ball player. I know the eligible kid for Cascade should serve an immediate impact on that already solid lineup. As for Francis, I'll leave that up to you to find out. Just have to wait and see. We have holes to fill, but I don't think they are impossible to fill. We'll see when practice gets going where people fall into place. Beckham, Hendrix, Kuhn, and Colvin will need to really step it up a notch this year and become big leaders. Looking forward to a fun season guys!!!
  23. Not sure exactly who else Cascade loss other than Bowman. He will be missed the most regardless. MTCS catcher was a senior yes. He is gone as well as is Siler. Returning a good crew, however I am telling you Forest will be right there. They have got great sticks. They were solid hitting the ball last year in the front of the order. They were short on pitching and their defense was easily rattled but that was because of their youth. Now that they have experience they will be in the mix. My guess would be that any of these 3 have a shot. Too close to flat out call a set winner. Dependent on what pitching Eagleville has this year, they could hang in there as well
  24. Only time will tell on how things will turn out. Obviously Cascade should be solid...being lead by a good defense and good fundamentals. Forest is never a pushover and were a solid team last year. MTCS is tough to tell...lost some big talent, but senior class this year should provide great leadership. If we can find help from some underclassmen and find some quality arms then we should hang in there. I agree that Eagleville has got to find some help for Blackwell...normally pitching is their downfall, so if they can get some arms to back him up they will be right in the mix as well. As said not sure what Van Buren or Boyd have this year. Should be a very fun season as they always are. Looking forward to it. Right now looks like too close to tell who will win anything.
