yes, they have deserved every win. They play with heart and aggression every game. And besides, reffing is a part of the game. To be the best, you have to beat the best. Not only is this Wilson Central team beating the best (Riverdale, which was a great victory at the time, Glencliff, and Hendersonville) but they are doing it in impressive fashion, despite the opinions of any naysayers.

yes, but there is a certain degree of professionalism that goes along with being a coach. There's a difference between being an "intense competitor" and just plain being rude. He crossed the line telling an injured player's father to "get the f*** off the field, Grampa" and "take out the black kid like you took out the other one!" If Don Imus can get fired for saying "nappy headed ho's", Ali should get fired for those comments.

Yeah, those Brazilians may not have shown up, but I will tell you who did: A Brit A Guatemalan A Mexican A Korean A Sierra Leoneon A Cambodian And a few Caucasians. Yes, Hendersonville will complain that they got absolutely no calls, which is for the most part true. I believe they Wilson Central only had one foul called on them. However, this was due to a lack of discipline. In crunch time, not only did they step up their intensity, they stepped up their animosity. The cursing, the fouling, the slide tackles when the ball was nowhere in sight. There's no place in soccer for that. Their coach, however, deserves to be respected: he is a humble and talented man, coaching that team. He, unlike the Riverdale coach, gets my respect.

first off, WCFan09, the word is "Thoughts", not "Thaughts". 2nd, Wilson Central is improved, but Hendersonville is a whole new test, just as an earlier poster said. They are a state powerhouse. Wilson Central is essentially a nobody in high school soccer. That being said, both schools will have an opportunity to win, and the game appears to be a good match up on paper. By the way, that "unless they have 11 Brazilians" remark was priceless.

Pretty much what happened was Wilson Central took Riverdale out of its game. This is not just an opinion-- Riverdale's coach screamed it during every phase of the game. "We're playing their game, not ours!" And some of the officiating was terrible, like when Riverdale's guy took down Wilson Central's guy. Looked like he was trying to break his ankle. They are not a respectful team in the least, as evidenced when the coach yelled "take out that black kid just like you took out the other one!". Pitiful. TSSAA should investigate his behavior.

Having played against Riverdale, I would have to say a lack of discipline and coaching are preventing this team from doing anything significant.

Gallatin and La Vergne seem poised to knock off Hendersonville this year. Wilson Central is undefeated so far, but has only played 2 region games in Smyrna (W, 1-0) and Mt. Juliet (W, 1-0).
