  1. They couldn't handle me.....It is one of the best jobs in the state though.
  2. SO THE KID HAS NOT SEEN A DOCTOR YET. HASNT HAD AN MRI YET. AND WE KNOW IT IS A SHORT TIME OR SIX WEEKS. NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT NATHAN YET COACH HASN'T EVEN ADDRESSED THE TEAM TO LET THEM KNOW BECAUSE NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING YET. I DO KNOW THE COACH IS GETTING THEM READY FOR LIFE WITHOUT NATHAN. NATHAN WAS THE DEFENSIVE LEADER ON THE TEAM HE WILL BE MISSED. ONE OF THE LOUDEST PLAYERS ON THE FIELD AND BEST PLAYERS ON SEYMOUR'S TEAM THIS YEAR.
  3. So what is your prediction tonights game Akula?
  4. "Coaches Turner and Culbreth both said this was a rebuilding year, and I think they are trying the quiet attack route. I still prefer Culbreth's coaching over Turners although who can argue they are two of the best, so I will take Farragut's rebuilding over Bearden's." Is it coaching or talent level? These coaches have the best talent on their JV and Varsity rosters every year in the Knoxville area. Most of their JV players would start at other schools in the area.
  5. Why are you so certain these teams (Oak Ridge and West) are better than Maryville? All 3 of the teams mentioned graduated alot, but did Maryville lose more than the others? I was under the impression maryville was one of the top teams in the Knoxville area is this not true?
  6. 5-1 Seymour in 45 minutes
  7. Gibbs was the unknown (not anymore).... Goalie is the best player on the team. Defense weakspot. Center Mids and Forwards are skilled, but will struggle with continuity. Outside wings very suspect. Formation a 3*5*2 defense tries to trap. I gave the Gibbs fans time to speak and got nothing from them so... I did some research on my own, and shared it with the Coacht world. In some of the scrimmages, they had a tendacy to get cheap (heard from other coaches not me) and even had a red card or two in scrimmages (which is scary, bc most of the time officials give the benefit of the doubt in scrimmages for sure). I just hope Dave can control them, because sometimes he struggles keeping his kids in check, and even himself.
  8. Seymour only graduated 4 starters. The whole defense returns in tact. They were the strongest part of the team last year.
  9. 4-1 Seymour Seymour boys better be ready Gibbs like to play roughborder line dirty. Hopefully Seymour graduated all the hotheads last year. Good luck to both teams!
  10. Is the Woods kid still around?

    Gibbs?

On here people are saying they expect good things from Gibbs. Their schedule is posted nowhere. I am just wondering if anyone knows any results from scrimmages or any games played thus far.

Are we talking about this year or last year? Seymour will be competitive in their district and maybe even region. Is this the case for S. Doyle? They will be lucky to finish in the top four of their district. Not a knock towards them, but they are in one of the toughest AAA districts in the state. When was the last time S. Doyle was even in district finals? Can you remember? Farragut is quality every year I am not trying to put S.Doyle down, but you never know what you will get very inconsistent from year to year. Always lack discipline as a team. Gabe is trying to change that though.
  13. Alcoa and Carter have like opponents in the preseason, but neither have any in common with Seymour. Seymour's was tough this year.

so the coach of carter says take them out of top ten Alcoa at 9 Seymour at 10 If i read this and was a parent i would be very frustrated with you. The recognition is good for your program, and you are saying you dont deserve it and you are the coach. What kind of message are you sending them?
  15. I know for a fact the Seymour coach called and was told by someone named GENE at TSSAA that the game could not be played as a pre-season scrimmage and would count toward regular season total number of games if played then. Can be played after season over though. If you can prove otherwise please let me know. I know our coach would prefer to do it that way.
  16. No, would be a conflict of interest. I have laid down the whistle. I cannot keep up with the game anymore physically. But yes I did use to ref highschool and college for about 12 years. Now my kids play and I watch. The Berean and Seymour game hasn't and never will be a rivalry( no one said it was just clarifying). New district and Seymour moves up. Only played one time. So I see no reason why Berean supporters have so much beef with Seymour. Alcoa and Carter maybe (beef with Seymour), but they are not on here complaining about the way the game is played. And have given Seymour on the field of play everything they wanted and more. Which Berean has not yet done (I am not saying they will not either just that they haven't). Close game in score last year, but not on the field. Seymour dominated possession and scoring opportunities. While Berean had less chances they did convert, so that is why the score was so close.
  17. Only Pre-season, MJUHB hasn't put a new one out. So to stimulate some conversation here we go. 1. Farragut- Lost alot, but always reload! Everyone look out last year fresh on their mind. 2. Catholic- Lost 2 or 3 key players. Will once again be very hard to beat 3. Morristown West- Solid squad. Senior heavy and play together year around. 4. CAK- G will have this senior heavy squad ready to go. No tarr, but who cares quality surrounds the program. 5. West- New coach, lost key players, but will no doubt will be one of the best in town. 6. Bearden- Lost more than most have ever had. Will take time but Turner will have them ready we all know. 7. Maryville- Might not be a dream season like last year, but could make some noise if this young team can figure it out. 8. Karns- Alot of individual talent, but can they play together as a team? A new coach too. (Who is it?) 9. Alcoa- Brodus and Mitchell up top good luck stopping that. Defense and goalkeeper are the questions this season. 10. Seymour- Lost 3 key players. Returns the nucleus, and they want to prove they can do it without bigshots! Honorable Mention (in no order) 11. Carter- Graduated 2 contributer. Stop Mark Sherrod (good luck with that). A hardworking team with a great leader on the field. 12.Oakridge- Diego gone now. Who is going to step up? Good team will take them a couple weeks to get going. OJ will have them ready. 13. Webb- Good team lacking the quality and depth they had 10 years ago. Thank CAK and Catholic's success on that. 14. South-Doyle- Young team last year rebuilding expect some noise out of them this year and more in their new district next year. 15. Lenior City- Gave some teams fits last year. Not sure they lost. Will be watching to see... I am sure I forgot some and will be watching thru out the season. Don't forget this is for fun and to get people talking about soccer in our area. Let me know about teams that could be flying under the radar right now.
  18. How many cards? Maybe your perception of dirty could be anothers example of working hard and not being educated? Was there a coach there? If not i am sure that has alot to do with it. Did the berean seymour game get physically out of control at any point last year. No! while i know i spoke of scores indoor is more irrelevant than scrimmages. Just so you know Seymour's core players were not on the indoor team if that makes you feel any better. Most players played on their club teams in indoor! Those that did not play club or not like club team they were on played indoor together ( some just don't have the money to afford to play). Some of those boys have already quit this year I hear. and some did not even play soccer for the highschool team. my son didnt play
  19. keep us up to date this is the last week for scrimmages and you get 4 surely they have had one by now also their schedule needs to be entered on the site it hasnt been
  20. i'm focused on the game baby.... not who is sitting around me that is my wifes job
  21. any results from scrimmages from berean lots of talk. no results from matches (scrimmages)
  22. Thats why the we (the refs) get payed the big bucks right...Typical private school talk no physical play we don't like it well whaaaa cry baby cry. you know one thing for sure going to ref a seymour game they will be one of the most physical teams on your schedule partly because of lack of club soccer. with no coach in a indoor match it could be worse. they play hard though dont they? did they win? so it worked. not on the same level for sure but..... like Germany (seymour) vs Brazil (berean) the game will be physical by the germans to slow the fast skill players down. the brazilians will flop and cry after every foul. If the germans succed the brazilians will be taken out of their game using speed, quick passing ability, and the flare( not likely but it is in highschool). some team has to be the most physical but it is no need to cry play harder. calling it no class not sure about that......? but then again i wasnt there. dont forget your pads when you come to the game...whichever kind you need
  23. pre-season scrimmages against alumni are prohibited by TSSAA regulations. Arent they I seem to remeber the Seymour coach trying to do do this and being told no by tssaa. so they play it post season other wise it would be regular season
  24. Central that good or is Carter down after lossing key senior leaders.
