  1. I would say that Patrick Cashman, #3 for Wilson Central, and Jackson Reddick (sp?), #17 for Wilson Central.
  2. The TSSAA is afraid that soccer is going to quickly overtake the other sports as popular. It is much cheaper to bring into a school, the game is more popular worldwide, and it is one of the more interesting games to watch. They continue to change the rules of a game so that they can "mommy-nize" it. What would they do if people urged them to make a facemask in football a two game suspension? They would have a cow. What is with the "must go out right after you get a yellow card to 'cool off'?" I mean, come on, how can you tell a player he needs to sit out when most of the offenses which justify a yellow card are professional fouls--the players aren't even angry. The TSSAA needs to rewrite their rules to say this: "Exactly what F.I.F.A says" The end.
  3. For such a young squad Wilson Central has a good start to a great future program. Coach Hoffman has really done a lot for the team. The varsity only has 1 senior on it--Chase Matheson. He was All-Region his Freshman year as a Goal Keeper, sophomore year he was unable to play due to TSSAA rules regarding transfer students, and last year made All-District as a field player. The Juniors on the team seldom got any playing time last year because Central had such an old team. Jarod Prawl (sp?) is back on the team after some reluctancy. Some major Freshmen include Joey Patterson, Ryan Clariday (sp?), and the big man in the back, Jackson Reddick. I only remember Antioch from Freshman year when Friendship Christian played them and tied 0-0. Friendship had almost 40 saves that game and over 20 Goal Kicks. Antioch will be a challenge for Central. Good luck to both squads.
  4. The kicker brought that song to them. He started it on WC's soccer team last year and when they were about to play Franklin Co. he explained the words, every win they sing it.
  5. We're only losing 8 or 9 Seniors. One's a kicker. Wilson Central should have another great year next year.
  6. Central has the special teams to stop Smyrna, as long as the defense steps up and plays like it has all season, it'll be in the hands of the offense to put points on the board.
  7. I like the thought of winning by a field goal. =]
  8. What about 85? He's 6'5ish last time I checked.
  9. I'm not a big follower of either team but I know that we (Wilson Central) played MJ earlier in the season and their special teams was not up to par. Lebanon on the other hand has won games with a last second field goal, and is fairly consistent on special teams. If these two teams are as evenly matched as I am hearing then I say Lebanon takes it because of their 3rd dimension.
  10. Yes, he has helped a lot this year. However, he has admitted that he needs to work on some things, he's been working pretty hard all week. Hopefully we'll see him help the Wildcats improve to 4-0 this week.
  11. I say Central wins it. At least I hope we do. Everyone is on here talking about offense and defense and whereas that is a crucial part for both teams, something everyone is forgetting is Special Teams. That's the major difference between this year and last year, a sure-handed special teams for Central. It's given the rest of the team a little more confidence and has allowed them to play without the block on their shoulder that was "we have to get into the end zone." Now, anywhere inside the 40 should be a scoring opportunity for the Wildcats. Central 27-21
  12. I don't know much about the kickers in the area, but I would have to say that I am fairly high up there. Chase Matheson for Wilson Central. Long this season is 43 but consistent from 50 easy.
  13. I would just like to say that yes, the team did lose. But had the keeper done his job, seeing as it is the most important job on the field and all, we would have won. Yes, other players made mistakes, myself among them. But I tried. That keeper didn't. How about you ask another player on the team instead of abusing me for stating the team's (for the most part) opinion. Virtually everyone blames him. It would be different had he tried, I've preached that since the beginning, but he didn't even attempt. Same for the first part. If you watched the game and couldn't see that, I pity you. His heart was not in it. Ask any member of the team. Yes I'm upset that we lost, I resent the fact we did, but I resent even more that the season of 11 seniors was ended because of another. How would you feel, you play your butt off every game and then, in the best season of your school's history, the season which you have the greatest chance, someone just stops trying? That is how the team feels.
  14. Their keeper was not the reason, it was their defense, when their defense screwed up, it was most likely a miss from the opposition. That is how it played out--ask any team member. And it does sadden me that our offense couldn't score against FCS--that is my old school and I hate that place. I never said our offense wasn't flawed, I simply said they tried. Our keeper, however, didn't. Hence the "lack of effort" I have mentioned. I understand that people look at stats, and at the previous record of the school, but in all actuality, it was not the keeper, it was maturity and heart which declared us the victors in the games we won. Heart which was missing by one of the starting eleven since the defeat of Hendersonville.
