With middle/east combined this year how does this work. Baylor hosts Webb next week. If Baylor wins and are tied with McCallie in the region because of the 0-0 tie....who would be awarded top seed.

That would be interesting for sure. And I do realize that Webb is in the thick of it too....by beating one or both teams. Just interesting if it is a tie. Thanks for the info.

I just read about CAK's injury to one of their players. Real sorry to hear about him. Sounds like he will be out for the season. I know it must really have shaken up the team and you Big G. I find it amazing that you guys were able to play as well as you did the rest of the way. Sorry for the player and your team.

Question that I hope someone has information on. East and Middle is combined this year....how is it set up and how many advance. Also with Baylor and McCallie tying Friday night both play Webb in the next couple of weeks. If both Baylor and McCallie beat Webb would the red and blue play again for top seed? If so where would the game be played. Believe me I am not assuming victories for both teams over Webb...just curious of what would take place. How are the middle teams doing?

A couple of things on this. Danny did not make a spectacular save....because he didn't have to. That is what a great defense will do for you. But Danny would have made it if he had to. Baylor's goalie and defense I believe are the best and has been for several years. Last year allowing only 5 goals all year....this year just 1 goal thru 8 games so far. I agree with you on this.....goalies get the credit for a shutout score while the defense rarely gets credit....not fair but when you see stats in the paper and goals allowed are there...the goalie gets the glory with no mention of defense. Goalies do not get shutouts by themselves. But that is not the goalie's fault either....just the way it is set up I guess. I feel defenders are the unsung heros for sure. McCallie's goalie did make a great save or Baylor would have won the game. But back to goalies as that was your comment. I would take Danny V over any goalie in the state. Hope the red and blue meet again this year....but hope it is at Baylor.

Baylor did a great job in the 2nd half of creating scoring opportunities. Seemed they were right there and tried to take that extra step to get closer and that gave the defense time to get in position. I think you are talking about #12 because he did a great job of getting in position and several times had a chance to score. This was a very good soccer game with two outstanding teams. Baylor's great defense did a very good job of shutting down the blue offense with their best chance to score coming in the first half.

Baylor 2 Hixson 0 Baylor controlled the game and had shot after shot. Again just had trouble finishing. Typical defensive game though with the Red Raiders having another shut out. Have now allowed 1 goal in 7 games.

Did all starters including the keeper get pulled in the first half?

Was a good win but you are right it should have been by more. The first goal couldn't have been drawn up better. Perfect long ball by Andrew Roden for Estaban to head in. Defense as always stepped up for Baylor.

Totally agree. Baylor dominated....very solid game. Andrew Roden's long ball to Estaban for a header was a tremendous play. Next up is a region game against Webb at Baylor.

And I could not disagree with you more. How can you judge what you and others, myself included, when we don't have all the facts. And for that fact do not need the facts on. I don't have a dog in the hunt here...as I suspect you don't either. How do we know that Big G lost an opportunity to be a coach and teacher? Do you have the information and know everything that went into this? Not anymore than me I would suspect. I think it is highly insulting for anyone to say Big G lost credibility here.....when they don't have a clue as to what all went into this decision.

You've got the wrong person.....that was me. After a long ride to Murfreesboro....in very nice weather.....it all changed. The skies opened up and they cancelled due to heavy rain and field conditions. Will be rescheduled.

I would expect this to be a close game but will go with CCS....2-1. I think the difference with be the experienced CCS defense and keeper. I think CSAS lost their keeper and defense last year? If I was't going to the Baylor - Riverdale game....this would be a good game to see. Good luck to both.

Can't blame you for that. There is no excuse for a team to be annouced by the wrong school name in a championship game.

Does anyone know anything about Hixson this year. I looked at their schedule and so far it looks like they have just played Walker Valley and Central. Just have not seen or heard anything about them.

ERSOCCER...just when you had a few people think that was a great step for you to not win....but tie a game against a quality opponent....yes you got cocky. Yes you won some games last year....and again I mean no disrespect but I don't think you beat a power....if I am wrong please correct me. I do not have a dog in the hunt here for sure. But if CCS outshot you 25-5...it was not defense....it was maybe their aim was off? I realize this is new to you and I hope you have a great season...but maybe you are acting like this because......you have not been there before. CCSMAN's team has been there before....which is state tournaments....and knows soccer and what it is about. He seemed to be congratulating you on a fine effort. You tied a good team that must have outplayed you....but you found a way to tie it. Kudos to East Ridge.....but if you continue you give a bad reflection on your team for what.....a tie. Think about it.
