  1. That's great to hear about Cole...he really has had a miraculous recovery! Actually, I'm fairly new to the program, as I recently moved to the Blount Co. area three years ago...I've then made friends with people associated with William Blount, and they're now my team /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  2. It will be on Friday, right after spring practice...not sure if spring practice will be two weeks or stretched out to three, but it starts April 21st tpoole- You're right about the opportunities for younger players this season. I think they will do a very good job, because even though many of the faces we'll see next year will be new on the varsity level, we have a lot of seniors that have been waiting in the wings and getting much needed experience in JV and during practice on scout team over the last couple of years. I'm terribly excited and expect great things as well! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  3. William Blount beat Maryville 4-3 last night
  4. There won't be a scrimmage this spring against another team...but WB is bringing the Orange vs. Blue game back after spring practice
  5. Soddy Daisy in the playoffs?! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  6. Thanks for posting, tpoole! I don't know about you, but I can hardly wait for the season start. The first scrimmage in spring is always a very exciting time of year! I've heard that we're stronger physically than last year, I hope our young guys step up and are able to fill the holes left. What do you think about our chances in the post-season?
  7. Wingman- I believe you're talking about the softball game, which the Lady Govs won 1-0. Freshman Erica Tuck pitched a no-hitter. Our baseball team defeated Heritage 14-0 in five innings last week at Heritage
  8. William Blount beat Heritage 14-0 in 5 innings yesterday
  9. I'm always up for a little 2-5A chat! How are things shaping up for Ooltewah next season? If I had to call the Region right now, I'd say: 1. William Blount 2. Ooltewah 3. Farragut 4. Oak Ridge 5. McMinn County 6. Bradley Central 7. Heritage 8. Soddy Daisy
  10. I have absolutely no idea...it's the biggest problem right now, and a major concern to say the least
  11. Spring Practice starts April 21st I've heard...any news on the Govs?
  12. I'm not sure...I do know Marshall has a few punters, but I also know that Kase can compete with any of them. I haven't heard much yet, but when I do, I'll pass the word...
  13. Different kicker...he was a senior, but didn't play much after the Maryville game /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  14. Last season I had a bad taste in my mouth from the WB game...but, actually, this season, I want Maryville to win all of their games to set up another undefeated game with William Blount. The atmosphere last season was incredible, and I want us to have another shot to end the streak
  15. Our 2000-2006 teams couldn't compete...but that doesn't have anything to do with last year's game or teams.
  16. When Maryville's not playing William Blount, and it's any other sport but football, I'm gonna be pulling for them. Same goes for every school in Blount Co. And I think we all know that the scoreboard doesn't tell the whole story of the game...much less who the better team is (even though that's not the issue at hand).
  17. I've got nothing against your basketball team. They did a great job winning the state championship last year, and I was pulling for them throughout the tourney. And as for the last 8 years comment...that's debateable /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. All else hasn't failed...William Blount may not have any rings right now, but when we get one, we'll deserve it. Put the shoe on the other foot...I'm also sure Maryville would have wiped the floor with Riverdale, Oak Ridge, and all the other great 5A teams in the playoffs /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> It's about time we find out...
  19. One of the main things that I'm concerned about is the quarterback position. No one on the roster has any real experience at the position. If I were the coaching staff, I'd think about making some adjustments to fit the talent and abilities of this team.
  20. Aren't you aware that the TSSAA assigns refs in the playoff games? Enjoy next year, because it won't last...
  21. What's the outlook for the William Blount Govs this season? Any news concerning players who are going to step up and fill the postitions of graduating seniors? Does anyone see William Blount possibly making a deep playoff run this season? I hope we can continue to build on the successes of the last two seasons (last year particulary), but I am concerned with the number of players we have leaving. The last thing that I want to see happen is for the expectations of this program to be lowered, however. I'd hate for last season to be the only one where people are talking about going to the 'Boro!
  22. Maryville will do their fair share of whining when they have to play in the right class in 2009. William Blount wouldn't have any problems with the second, third, fourth, or fifth round if they had it like Maryville.
  23. Are they going to oufit Maryville's refs in Nike too?
  24. Maryville's not even the best team in the county! Better run your mouth while you can because WB is going to shut it Tuesday!
  25. It's hard to get a good feel for this team...last year was mediocre, and hopefully we can rebound and have a pretty good season. There are a lot of experienced players on this team, and the pitching should be at least as good as last year. The potential is there to make a serious run at the District Championship
