  1. I thought Sequatchie would murder ER. What happened?
  2. 1.CCS 2.Howard 3.Sequatchie 4.Grundy 5.Marion 6.Hixson 7.East ridge 8.Notre Dame 9.Bledsoe That's how I think it will turn out. But it is too hard to tell as of now. Alot of teams especially numbers 3-9 will change throughout the season. I doubt the number 1 and 2 spot will change.
  3. I heard Zephen Guyer is returning to basketball this season for Marion County after quiting for baseball. Anyone heard about this?
  4. I'm looking for a huge upset in district this year. There are teams flying under the radar.
  5. Grundy has the ability to shock many teams this year. They have most of the starters returning and the have a transfer student from Smyrna High School. I am ready for the popcorn to start popping. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  6. How do you think the teams look? Where will each team sit in standings? What do you think?
  7. In an effort to change the tack of this thread. Read this article on Meeks from Smyrna. I think her attitude about the game and people in general is something several of you posters need to consider. Character counts. http://preps.dnj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...PREPSFACTORYDNJ
  8. No underestimating involved. Did I not post that this would be one of the better matchups in AAA? Relax blueraider75 just havin' fun with ya'.
  9. The sun is shining in middle tennessee so there are no shadow here. You seem to think I reside in Knoxville. Just very observant. Like I said-see ya.
  10. Oooh, now who's being defensive. Did I strike a nerve? You need to quit name calling, take a step back and get real. End of my posts on this thread.
  11. Ok, I've got this one. If this tnfan60 is who I think he is. He is one not a parent parent, two is a national level coach and three probably knows the capabilities of Johnson, Dupree, Goswitz and other players better than Collier on her best day.
  12. robpride if you are as close to the Webb sceen as you seem to be, can you confirm other "inside sources" that say Collier discouraged Glory Johnson from choosing any other school but Tennessee. I've been told that Collier failed to complete several questionaires (which I have actually seen in a nice blue three-ring binder) and return them to colleges and that she intentionally didn't return calls from other college coaches to discuss Glory? My "inside sources" suspects Collier intends to ride Glory's shirttail to a job with the Summit crew.
  13. Who needs an open shot to put it through the rim?
  14. HEE HEE I love your sense of humor gooddog. I bet Bud never suspected that plan of attack.
  15. Personally, I could care less if you pay attention because obviously you have not been "paying attention" to Webb games very much. And as far as qualifications---the last time I checked posters didn't have to play college ball or be a coach to post on CoachT or know the game of basketball. If so attendance on this site would be mighty slim.
  16. Meeks is a very versatile player for Smyrna. She is just as dangerous inside as at the three-point line, can pull down the rebounds and with other scorers on the team that can finish can add up the assists. She is a 4.0 honor student and you can see that intelligence on the basketball court as she is asked to play several positions and knows them all well.
  17. Experience has got to be in Wilson Central's favor in this first game. They have been to this point repeatedly. And they play in 9AAA which is not cake-walk. With district foes like Smyrna, Mt. Juliet, Lavergne and Beech they can't help but be prepared. WC will not have the depth to win over Oak Ridge or Shelbyville unless Christopher receives a "miracle cure" as Tierny Jenkins did before the championship game a couple of years ago. Jenkins had her cast sawn off for the game and put back on the next morning.
  18. Wilson Central can still start a strong five with little Hassell in the mix but they will certainly be weaker from there on down. Burrough's can handle the ball well enough but what remains to be seen is if playing point will cost her some threes. From what I have seen Bud doesn't have anyone else ready that can handle the ball well enough.
  19. My previous post was based on past observances of the way the Webb coach will have a game in hand (15-20 point lead) and will start playing subs until the score is tied again. At which time she will put the starters back in the game to get the lead again. Sometimes they can and sometimes they can't. This was not in one game but multiples over the four years I have watched Webb play. It's as if she has to satisfy a quota of minutes played to tuition paid. But when games like these have to be won to advance, common sense would tell you that some players should only see the floor from the sidelines or during warmups. In some instances it's not just who plays but where she plays them. Glory Johnson is a beast on the offensive boards and can score on put-backs. But I have seen this coach pull her out to play the three when she needed to be inside=losing a state championship game.
  20. You could be right. Smyrna starters Pollock, Williams, Adams, Meeks and Raynor are all capable of filling up the bucket.
  21. This should be one of the better matchups in AAA. Some of these players know each other from TN Team Pride AAU. Isom and Davis from Cleveland. Pollock, Raynor and Meeks from Smyrna.
  22. Yeah, it's great to have believers like you "swami".......aka 14Pioneers
  23. Ditto from 9AAA. Now maybe players will stop transferring to other schools.
  24. I don't think Bud set out the throw the Wilson Central/Smyrna game. He did however tell his team that a win was not necessary to advance. When I watch a game I don't just view the action on the court I watch coaches' and players' expressions on the bench. When Smyrna came out playing the way they were and got up early it was pretty evident to Bud they were in for it. He did what any wise coach would do--retreat to fight another day. With Christopher injured he could not afford another player getting hurt before playing McGavock. So far it has worked.
  25. Thanks MJAB. Come cheer us on in the 'Boro. 9AAA ALL THE WAY!
