I was looking through the TSSAA online playoff program for this game. The history was listed for each team. Under state championship for D-B was "1960, 1959, 1949, 1948, 1947, 1945". However, under state championships for Maryville, the 1964 championship wasn't listed. Can someone explain why prior to the playoff system, D-B gets credit for its championships and Maryville does not? Is there a valid reason? (Yes I know they got beat in a bowl game after the regular season. I was there)

Both led to losses in the championship game. Hope it's not that cold again.

I've been to a bunch of high school football sites over years. I don't know of a more beautiful setting than this one!

We played one game on two separate days.

I know someone who lives in Maryville and works in Knoxville who had an appointment down McMinn County way. While down that way, he decided to go by the school and see about tickets. He says he bought three. I don't think he's an McMinn "elite" (he doesn't even live there), but maybe he knows someone who is.

Families, where both parents work and they have to find and pay for day care, not so much.

Because of the weather, this game being played on Thursday appears to have worked out good.....and no commercial timeouts!

Hate this. Troy was an ultimate gentleman. Always nice and kind. He was a heck of a football player 1970 - 1972 at FB and MLB. Troy will be missed! RIP Troy Bowman!

They are Selfish folks taking attention away from the kids, especially the seniors. This game should be about the kids not protestors selfish agenda!!

Never happen. The costs in $ to play at Neyland are way too high. MHS won't absorb those costs and neither will UT. Burning those lights and security are cost prohibited.
