  1. well, JD Wallace has to be mentioned as one of the best catchers defensively in East Tennessee.
  2. Normally, I wouldn't do/say this, but I've narrowed it down: You're either a player on our team that gets no playing time probably due to lack of skill, OR you're a parent whose child is on the football team and gets no playing time: once again - lack of skill. So when you can "pad-up" and take a hit from Caleb Leonard, outrun James O'Laughlin, burn Garrett Gresham, or out-throw Tyler Turner - THEN throw your 2 cents in on how bad we stink. Until then...just stay on the internet reading posts, because you're worthless to the halls community. Have a nice day sir
  3. Not really how I pictured the football team to be my senior year (2-5). But, how many recently previous teams can say that they won the Battle of Black Oak Ridge? Powell will be a big momentum game (whether if it comes out to mean anything or not) Good Luck to the Red Devils next week
  4. What are your thoughts for this year's Halls/West game? As most of you know, last year's game was won by the devils 52-49 in double overtime. However, 3 of the biggest playmakers from last year's Halls team and 5 of the biggest playmakers from last year's West team are graduated. Therefore, eyes are on: Halls QB Tyler Turner WB Kevin Waggoner WB James O'Laughlin DL Caleb Leonard West QB Christian Francis LB Dylan Baylosis LB Sam Purkey Also, I believe that this is Halls' WR/DB Garrett Gresham's first game of his return (broken thumb)
  5. ALLEGEDLY- Ben McFalls (#79) has a case of mono and will miss until the Powell game
  6. I believe the last time Gibbs beat Halls was when Newly Wayland was Halls RB.. which was '91 or '92
  7. I am in no form/fashion just a fan of the devils when they are winning. We're 0-2 and the student section this week will be painting "WE OWN BLACK OAK RIDGE" Nothing but confidence for this Devils team who will go 13-2
  8. I'm not a parent. I'm actually a senior in high school, who hasn't missed a game my whole entire high school career. And yes, I "paint up" every game. And I have no similiarity to a typical halls parent. The reason I'm blaming coaches - sweep left, sweep right. fb dive (for no more than 8 yards [unless Fitzpatrick has the ball]). I'm calling it how it us, broski
  9. you know its a good day, when I agree with EVERYTHING ironman says lol
  10. I was told gates are opening at 5, and it will be SLAMMED! I was also told the game is "Standing Room Only". So if true, be prepared for that. On average, and on a reasonable average lol, how many people do u expect to be there?
  11. Hey Joe-Shmoes - if ya wanna talk you're Alcoa/Maryville trash, go ahead and be my guest...on another thread please. There's not one, excluding Ironman80, halls guy who cares about the Tornadoes. Back on topic. 60-0 3 more days away Be there fairly early Hard nosed running 60-1
  12. I think Maryville will start the season 1-2, with an opening loss to Halls, followed by and even BIGGER loss to Alcoa, which I believe will THEN be followed by a small (5-10 point) victory over Clinton.
  13. So I heard that CAK "took us to the woodshed" haha. True?
  14. NO WAY! Did Stinson really get kicked off?
  15. Very proud of the boys in red tonight! As I've (as well as others have) said before, tonight's mistakes was mostly mental and not physical. As far as being in shape, we look great! In my eyes, I see Waggoner & O'Laughlin starting at wing back this year. O'Laughlin is real tough and hard-nosed, lowering his shoulder on almost every rush. Gibson also is a good back. I agree with BtgoG, our QB's held on to the ball for FOREVER long resulting in monstrous sacks/tackle for losses. I can't wait until the next few scrimmages and the jamboree all leading up to the biggest night in Halls football in 12 years. KEEP IN MIND, COACHT POSTERS - IT'S A LOT EASIER TO PLAY THE GAME OF FOOTBALL FROM THE STANDS THAN IT IS THE GRIDIRON, ITSELF
  16. I didn't go to the scrimmage tonight, but from what I heard: We have one of the worst O-Line's available? True?
  17. Halls lost 4 starters, I believe? And Halls is to host
  18. Injury Updates -Taylor Babcock had surgery this morning, and all went well. For those who didn't know, he broke his lower femur. According to doctor, he MAY be able to play very late in the season (Really hope he can play for Senior Night). -As for WR Zabowski, I was told his knee injury will just put him out a week (which is the remainder of 2.a.days and the friday night scrimmage against Dobbyns-Bennett). However, I was told he intends to keep playing football, instead of throwing in the towel and just focusing on basketball Best of luck to both guys
  19. Did he even play before his injury? anyways, I talked to Taylor Babcock today and he broke the bone in his thigh (thickest bone in the body). So all prayers go out to Babcock. Furthermore, in todays AM practice Zach Zabowski hurt his knee. I was told it is "Blown Out"
  20. So as the 'difficult' week of 2.a.days arrive - how did we look on day 1? I was told that CB #8 Taylor Babcock may have torn his ACL today
  21. just hilarious! /sleep.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="-_-" border="0" alt="sleep.gif" />
  22. Jock Stinson is a premiere athlete who (like previously stated) was the Fulton QB who the led Fulton to the state championship a few years ago. Undoubtedly, he would be great for Central. In my opinion, much more of a contributor than C. McMillan was [though he was unreal]
  23. Red Bank was just our (Halls') most previous game. Red Bank was the team to take us out of the playoffs. And I was just stating that ever since the ride home from that game, I've highly anticipated the first game of the year
