Pretty sure Central is classy is sitting around laughing at the fact you're believing his posts. Central alwyas plays TN High tough. The rain will help Central, just because it makes TN High more one dimensional, but TN High eventually is too physical. Always were the hardest hitters. TH-28 CHS-7

Oh come on, don't be silly. I am not even a South fan, I played at Central, I got my fair share of butt whippings. I remember last year playing you guys when you all took a knee on our five when you could've made the game 35-0. However, you didn't, that was cool. We had a hard fought game and despite the score I hope we earned your respect, North was being ridiculous, and it riled up South. Hearing from people the kind of stuff the players were saying and the blatant disrespecting during a captain's meeting, and South had every right to be a little ticked off. Say what you will, but I feel there is no excuse to not shake hands after a game.

Sounds like North had a problem with their egos and South quickly shut them up. Its not a coach's job to stop his offense if he doesn't want to. Its the defense's job to stop them. All this cheesy sportsmanship talk is stupid, your coach did not shake hands. Gotta humble yourselves sometimes. North acted like fools before the game and paid for it.

I am with you. However, before confusion occurs, I think the 145-230 ratio was between Taylor Fletcher and Keenan Shepherd, the 2 top rushers in the conference who will be competing for the rushing title (and possibly conference POTY). Knowing the work Taylor has put into this season, I think he deserves extra carries into the second or third quarter. I understand that he will get recruited regardless, but anyone would like to win a personal award or two during their senior year, especially after all the work you put into it. That's not being selfish either, he will say all the right things but he has earned the chance to get a few extra carries and improved numbers.

Listen up, in order to win games in the mountain lakes conference FOOTBALL league you have to run the ball and STOP the run! Central had a run defense problem at first, and they had to FIX IT! Well once they started to FIX IT they started to compete a little better. Last week was the tip of the iceberg, I will not say the problem is totally FIXED but it is enough to give JoCo a scare they will never forget. Hide the children folks! Mcglauthlin! Phipps! This is not good times. As a Central fan, we are scheduling 4 losses every year before the season even begins (DB,SH,SS,TH). Maybe even Boone. We are going to have to schedule cupcakes for out of conference games, and hope East plays in the conference. For 2 games a year for most of this conference, every team that plays DB and SH will just be hoping their team doesn't get an injury. The only people in the state this plan really hurts is upper East Tn, we have 2 enormous schools that will beat up on everyone compared to other regions who will have 5 or 6 huge schools that will beat up on each other. It doesn't seem to make sense to me. I just hope Central will have kids still go out for the team.

Whats the cut off point for 5A? I thought it was 1300, Central only has 1069 according to the TSSAA website. I still think Elizabethton would be the favorite every year in 3A/4A. They seem to have a lot of talent coming up and it seems like that program is headed in the right direction.

I think Central will be in the 3A/4A league. So they might be able to provide a little bit of a challenge to Betsy, Betsy would be the class of that conference every year for sure though. They could still be successful in the playoffs, they would just have to schedule some tough non conference games.

Congratulations Central. You absolutely dominated tonight. I have not seen a Central team look this good in a long long time, so for one week. Can we please, support the boys and be positive, if they keep playing that well. Who knows what can happen. Unicoi did take Tn High to the edge ya know, and I think we picked off that qb 4 times. I am pretty sure this is a confusion among centrals. The one poster brings up Ooltewah, which makes me think he means Knox Central. Sullivan Central just doesn't know how to win, and when they don't win one of those first 2 winnable games they are hurting bad.

Gonna be an awesome game. Forbes makes the difference though. Why doesn't he get the bulk of the carries? He seems like one of the biggest playmakers in the conference.

I would think Off season workouts need to pick up with both participation and intensity. I would also say schedule easier teams, if you are a team who has been bad for a few years schedule a few gimmes, and get some wins under your belt and make that record look good so more athletes want to come out. Just my opinion.

You say we like you played for Johnson County, but you said you played for a 6A school. That doesn't make sense. I hope you're playing D1-A ball somewhere if you're all conference as a freshman. The way I always looked at it, players have respect for players, this is why I can't see you ever being much of a player. Besides, I thought you were gonna stop posting if JC lost to Betsy, which you did. So you lied there, so maybe you are hard to take seriously. Hey but its cool, if I am able to make the game I will give you my number and we can chat. College doesn't make it easy but I will see what I can do. I am not a fairweather fan, I am not gonna act like Central is a powerhouse, but I can say that they play hard every week and they have had some very poor luck with injuries. Longhorns if I had to bet I would guess you were horrible at football when you played. I bet you didn't even sniff the field. But hey its cool, you just "call it the way you see it" and you're so brutally honest. Regardless, your longhorns aren't as good as you think, and these teams still will play hard. If I remember correctly, which I do, we had 2 turnovers inside the red zone and a roughing the punter penalty that killed us against you all.We lost by 2 td's, but go ahead and give me a great quote about how it doesn't matter because we still lost, I am sure it will be very intelligent. There was respect among the players, and everyone was classy. In other words, I know you never saw the field. Hey, good luck Cougars. Keep working hard and good things will happen, you got 4 weeks left. They fly by! Enjoy them while you can.

It is very unfortunate this is how it works out at Central. As far as why Central is bad, I would have to look at the offseason workouts. I don't think they are hard enough personally, and they don't have coaches in there making the kids lift, it is basically lift on your own basis. Kids are forced to pick 1 sport, and when they see what happens with one, such as basketball, and what happens in football, they obviously go to basketball. The kids who play football love it, thats why it is heartbreaking to me to see how much work some put into it for nothing. As far as a full housecleaning goes, I think Coach Nelson deserves more time. There is an adjustment period for certain coaches, 2 years I do not feel is enough time to gauge how a coach will be for the long run. I hope everyday that good things happens for that program, and eventually it will. There are peaks and valleys at all schools, and the athletes are there to make special things happen, hopefully it happens sooner rather than later. P.S.-Look out for Taylor Winchell and his sophomore class, has the chance of turning the program around. He will only get better And I agree about the multiple sports thing. Coaches should encourage kids to play other sports unless it could affect college scholarships. A starter one year should be the starter next year even if he played another sport, unless there is a kid who is just flat out better than him, he shouldn't lose his starting spot because he is a great athlete and is good at other sports.
