  1. Just to add, looks like temperatures in the mid to high 30's at game time and rain if not some snow showers at those temps. Everybody needs to wrap up for this one.
  2. This is the first year in probably the last 4 that I dont think the Longhorns are the better team. Last year was a great game that I felt should have been won by the Horns but injuries and mistakes allowed Besty to pull it off in the end. This year it looks like Besty is more talented. I do believe that Besty will have their hands full. The weather is not looking good and a wet, muddy, rocky field will slow the game down. This one has been to close to call in recent years and this one is no different with the game time conditions looking pretty rough. Horns by 1 in a low scoring game.
  3. I thought East would have something for a lot of people when the season started but this hasnt happened. Johnson County is building in confidence and East is going the other way so I dont see this one being that close. JC-28 East-10.
  4. That is to funny Adam. And you are right, it is hard to believe it could be wet with the slope. You would think there would be a moat around it but that the field would be dry. If you start in the middle it is all down hill though right?? HA!!! Best of luck to both teams..
  5. The field is terrible I have to admit that. As people know that have been coming here for years, the system is to cheap to redo it. It has always been rough due to basically being a mowed cow pasture, but this rain has made it horrible. If it rains much at all on Friday it will be ankle deep mud. To much water already on it. With that said, it should work to Johnson Counties advantage. I think the horns pull this one out by a touchdown in a low scoring game. 13-6 JC. If it doesnt rain on Friday make it 21-14 JC. As always, this is anyones game. I would hate to wash the uniforms after this one!!
  6. I see Johnson County by 2 touchdowns only because we are struggling to score. We have got to find a way to put the ball in the air a little more. I complained for the last few years that we threw it around to much and now not enough. There has to be a happy middle ground somewhere.
  7. As usual this game is almost impossible to call. I remember one of these games in recent memory that was not close and that was in 07' I believe. In all the years I have been going to watch this matchup I am streching to remember a handful that were not right down to the wire. JC lost some fire power from last year with the Prudhomme kid so they are going to have to find a way to score some points. I believe JC pulls this one out with the typical one touchdown or less margin. Should be a good game and the best thing is we get to see it twice this year...
  8. I think East will take the title, North second, and then either Elizabethton or Johnson County. I am always amazed that Elizabethton thinks so highly of themselves. They have not been very good in a long time. They may surprise me but I just dont seem them being higher than third.
  9. Cart before the horse here but what will actually happen if Besty North and JC all have 3 conference losses and all have lost to each other. I realize JC must beat North and I am assuming a Besty loss tonight but what is the tie breaker????
  10. Well this will be my last post until the powers that be decide to make some changes in the staff. I have never in my life seen a group of coaches get so little out of their talent. Injuries happen but to be honest the last four years have been a loaded situation for this community. Totally out coached not only in this game but forever. If we stick with this group I can only say thank goodness we get to move down. The Phil Fulmer group of the MLC. It is time to move on. THS you played a great game and your coaches had a great plan. To the Longhorn players, keep your head up. We can still make the playoffs despite the disadvantage you guys have in coaching. I am out of here. I love the Longhorns and will support them to the end but obviously there isnt a lot of sense in talking about something you have no control of. Best of luck to the Horns the rest of the year!!! PS I am not singling out any coach by themselves. They all need to watch the game and not try to coach it. Every single one of them top to bottom.
  11. The field is actually better than it has been in a few years. It still doesnt compare to THS or South but it should hold up well. The issue up here is that they do not have any facility for the younger kids so every football game at every level is held on that field. We are talking flag all the way to varsity. When you get a little rain and play on it Thursday, Friday, and then all day Saturday with the younger kids any progress that has been made goes away. It will never get better until they limit the number of game they are trying to play on it. I am glad they allow this for the younger kids because they have no where else and they are the future but that is the real issue. A lot of money has been spent recently trying to get the surface better but as I said it never has a break to catch on. Good luck to both teams.
  12. I agree 100% and that is a great attitude to have. Everybody knows what you have done the last several weeks in stepping up and I know you will do it again. Take it to them tomorrow. I have confidence in you guys.
  13. Simple answer is they are kids trying to keep THS guessing. Fact is the story is out there and I agree that he deserves respect for what he done not only at JC but in the MLC. All-State as a junior is a big deal at any school in the MLC and he was well on pace to do it again. I realize what the JC fans/players are trying to do but it is out there in the press guys so it does need to be let go. Everybody else needs to do their part to step up and make up as best you can for this loss. You guys have done it all year so this will be no different. Go Horns!!
  14. First of all Prudhomme is a huge loss and I am sure this is tough on him. I hope that he makes a full recovery and can show off that leg to many colleges this spring. With that said he is out and we must move on. Defensively, we have looked better lately although we were not playing a running attack like THS. I believe if we can get two guys back that should be ready to go this week it will help the D even more. Offensively, we still have some firepower. It is one of those times where we are getting people hurt and some that have been hurt should be returning healthy. From what I have read the Vikings are in the same boat. The key to this game will be who has the most healthy players still standing at the end. I think we have something for the Vikes this year but I was even more confident before the Prudhomme injury. I think this motivates more than it hurts for this game and the Horns finally pull it off.
  15. This one should be interesting to say the least. At the start of the year I felt like these two would compete for the conference because of their talent. Going into this game it comes down to who can get enough healthy people on the field to win. This has been the worst year I can ever remember for injuries for JC. From what I have read it is the same for TN High. I do take my hat off to our guys that have stepped up. We are continuing to win because of some young guys who are showing us the future of Longhorn football. Also, Nate is running the ball great. Congrats man for making the most of your opportunity. We didnt get everyone back on the field at Unicoi that I had expected so hopefully we will this week but we are all holding our breath until we see what is wrong with Prudhomme. He would leave a huge gap to fill. Phipps is playing unbelivable football also. He played the best individual game last night that I may have ever seen. He may not be the best QB, linebacker, and now kicker or punter in this area but he is the best football player. My prediction is we finally pull it off. JC-35 THS-21. Good luck to both teams
