  1. I like to see so many people fired up about this game. I hope everyone comes out. The fact is, its the quarterfinals and both teams are going to be prepared and wanting a win just as much as the other. There will be no lack of heart. Both teams are very good teams, but my opinion is that Indy brings a slightly better team to the table all around and their defensive play will make all the difference. Independence- 28 Franklin- 13 Pettigrew defines himself in this one, look for him to go big. It is gunna be a good one, I'm looking forward to it.
  2. Having you been hiding under a rock the past 7 weeks? Yes, the score week 4 was 41-16, I agree. But have you been following the Eagles since that game? I think you are the ignorant one. I don't know if you are a Franklin player, student, or parent, but believe it or not, there are other teams in this state than Franklin. If you've been paying attention at all, you would know that 41-16 doesn't reflect how Indy is playing now. No one can be that naive to think that Indy is the same as they were then. So please, send out your 2nd string tomorrow night, see what happens then. You're all talk.
  3. lax4life32... If Franklin is so much better, why then did they lose to two teams that Indy was able to beat? If they are that much better than Indy, so good that they shouldn't even play on the same field, then why didn't they blow out the likes of Ravenwood and Brentwood? Please explain your 12 athletes to every 3 athletes now, you're not making much sense...
  4. I agree, Franklin's athletes are in no way 4 times better than Indy's. Both teams have very good athletes but Indy has a better football team in my opinion and thats what matters. Our national champion Kathy Kroger is a better athlete than anyone taking the field Friday night, but that doesn't make her the best football player.
  5. One thing you're correct about is that Franklin's passing game is sub-par. The Indy defense is playing at a very different level than they were week 4 at FHS and they've shown consistanty at that level of play every week since the homecoming game week 5 vs. Memphis East. A sub-par passing game will not suffice this time around, so Coach Clayton is going to have to find a new approach if they intend on having a similar result at the end of the game.
  6. Yeah, Franklin will easily be Heckman's toughest test so far. In the previous game, Franklin knocked the air out of Indy early with a big run on the first play. With that blow, their offense turned on immediatly and they were able to score on the Indy D. The difference now is that the Indy D is playing a million times better now than they were then, playing just as good as the much talked about Franklin D. Indy offense can out play Franklin's, so a continued dominate defense is the key for the Eagles.
  7. I wish a game like this wasn't being played over Thanksgiving break. There will be a lot of loyal fans having to miss out b/c they will be out of town and that could effect the atmosphere of the game. I see a defensive battle in this one.
  8. The atmosphere at Independence High School right now is on another planet! The fans, the teachers, and most of all the players are absolutely estatic for the game tonight! The Bears better be ready to go at 7:00 because the Eagles are. Indy wins tonight, big Mo is going to be on their side on night. Indy- 41 Antioch- 20
  9. This is the first time all year I'll go for FHS. I'd like to see a rematch between IHS and FHS, that would be epic. Good luck to the Rebels.
  10. Packfan is right. With Fox being there in the morning, tomorrow is going to be a pure football day from the start at IHS and nothing gets players more excited than knowing their school and community is behind them. I'm sure the same excitement is going on at Antioch, but there's is no doubt that the Indy boys are gunna be ready to go at kickoff.
  11. Indy looked decent last night. Granted the big win was over Fairview, they were also playing without Robinson and Baugh, two players that will come in and instantly make the team better after football is over. The team looked good and some young players, Tyler King in particular, showed some promise for the season. High hopes for the Eagles this year.
  12. A lot of talk on here regarding AHS's athleticism. I've heard of the speed of the Bear's team, but IHS also contributes speed on both sides of the ball. I'm not saying to any degree that they have just as much speed as the Antioch boys, but there is no lack for Indy. Both teams are playing great, so it's hard to say anything bad about either on here, but I don't see Indy blowing this one. They are playing at a different level right now, and i think there are few teams that can keep up with the Eagles if they can continue at this rate.
  13. Indy is on an absolute role, but Antioch appears to be as well. I have never seen AHS play, but purely from a stats standpoint, it appears they have a dual threat QB, as does Indy in Heckman. I think Friday could be an offensive shootout, but I also think the Eagle defense is playing their best ball right now and that could easily be the difference in the game in Indy's favor.
  14. Indy by two touchdowns. This team is on a role, it would take a lot to stop them. Go Eagles!!
  15. I am 110% with tnsparty. A little luck and a lucky win are very different terms. IHS has worked their butts off to get where they are. No one can win without a little luck, thats life. But when you call a whole game, won by two TD's nonetheless, a lucky win, you are the fool. And Heckman wasn't lucky on the pump fake. Your boy Becker just happened to get beat on that play. It's playoffs now though, so if it takes a "lucky win" to get a win, you can call it whatever you want.
  16. Were you at the Ravenwood game? It was far from a lucky game. Becker bit on the pump by Heckman, which left Veres wide open for the scoore and the lead. No luck there, just pure football. Then Fowler made a great pick to finish it off. It was no luck, just good football and the better team came out on top. I find it hard to figure out why so many people can't give Indy credit for what they accomplished towards the end of the year this year by calling their wins lucky and acting like Indy didn't earn it.
  17. This is true. Elephant (Edington) and J-Rob (Robinson) will create a nice presence in the paint and shooters like Consiglio and Jeppeson will have good success from behind the arc. I know they aren't favored for anything, but watch for a surprise.
  18. This game is exciting for all of us here in Thompson's Station. I think Gallatin's rich tradition would have an effect on this game if it was at Gallatin, but the fact is that we're playing at Eagle Stadium. IHS is the better team and are at 100%, playing their best football of the year. Though Gallatin is also playing their best, I think that Indy's best is far superior to Gallatin's best. The dual-threat QB system will keep Gallatin in the game for the first half, but Indy wins by at least 10. The chance for an upset is always there, but not this Friday night. Get it done.
  19. This one won't be a contest my friends. Indy knows whats on the line. I'm around a lot of the football players everyday and these guys are ready to go. Indy wins by more than 2 TD's, and grabs homefield for the playoff run, which i will very much enjoy.
  20. Both of these teams are coming off victories, a 30-0 beating of CHS for B-Wood and a 28-14 nail-biter over Ravenwood for Indy. We all know that it's a huge game for both so there will be no lack of passion or energy in the game. It's going to come down to the weather conditions. Rain won't effect Brentwood as much, being a primairly running team, but for Indy, even though stud running back Scott Pettigrew has been huge, the passing game was a huge factor in last weeks win. If Pettigrew goes over 100 yards on the day, the Eagles will walk away with the victory. 27-21 Indy, in the rain.
  21. I like the prediction there, but I don't understand where you are coming from about the loss of the senior class from IHS. Yes, there were a few guys that are missed, but altogether, the seniors we lost is not the reason for the dropoff in play from last year. Our quarterback just recently dropped out of school, that had a large impact. Pettigrew has been battling injuries all year and has only gotten a chance to really blow up in one game, vs. Centennial. And the team is still adapting to the different style of Coach Eubanks. I think IHS is ready to make a run out of the district and into the playoffs with Dickson Co, Ravenwood, and Brentwood all coming up in a row after Northeast. The play will improve. They looked impressive in the homecoming game last week vs. Memphis East and are ready to step things up. Indy in a massacre, 49-6 Pettigrew gets over 200 on the ground
  22. This game won't live up to what last yeras game was, but it will be another good one. Franklin lacks offensive power, as did Indy until last week, when Pettigrew exploded for over 200 yards. This game will be a defensive battle, with the winner being whoever can get on the board first. Indy in a close one, 13-7
  23. Wow Mom... The overconfidence even runs through the parents.
  24. I didn't say anything about IHS and their confidence, I said that CHS will be overconfident. I think that coming off a large victory, a team such as CHS, which has lacked large victory in their recent past, will be overconfident and IHS, who I still believe has the better overall team head to head, will bring them back down to earth.
  25. The Eagles have looked very questionable in their first 2 games, but look at the opponents. BA has the top rusher in the state and MBA has a solid game on the ground as well. Though they looked very bad, those tests will prove to be helpful in the games at CHS. Though a big win, Centennial will be overconfident after their win over Page, who isn't much of a challenge early in the season with a new coach and a young team. With Indy hungary for their first win and the Cougars overconfident, I take the Eagles in a second half blow out, 35-14.
