  1. Glue Factory, maybe the Mud Bowl after this week?
  2. All Greeneville needs to worry about is the Trojans, I don't think they will look ahead one bit. Still nothing good to say about the Trojans, unless I want to get kicked off CoachT.
  3. GO DEVILS!!! Thats all I'm saying because I can't talk about Morristown West in a nice way.
  4. West Greene should stand good against Chuckey Doak this week, I look for the Buffs to win this one and continue on, in their quest for the County Championship.
  5. I wish we had Cody Baugh back at QB. He is a legend!
  6. One last thing about fan support. Somebody brought up a great point about the crowd being dead after halftime last week. That is a very true statement. When your team is beating one of the best teams in your area if not the best team, ALL the fans should be excited. Not just football parents, everybody. The fans should be there to cheer on Greeneville Football. Nobody says, "Hey lets go to the Band show" they say, "Lets go to the football game." Everybody should be excited when big plays are made, EVERYBODY! We've always had a great number of people at the games, but now lets get loud. Now for the student section, yes they can be inappropriate, but has anyone ever heard of a student section being goody goody. Back when the tree was around, it was kind of silly, but the students were into it. The student section when the tree was around was probably one of the loudest student sections I've ever heard in high school. This week when we score lets see a standing ovation for the football team. And who is calling some people jocks. Isn't this a football message board. Jocks play football! Lets talk about football now, no more complaining about the crowd. Greeneville should be getting some momentum after a much needed win last Friday.
  7. Since no one is really talking about football, I'm gonna talk about the band. The band is the reason that Greeneville's crowd is so quiet at games. They sit there until lil' Johnny or whoever toots their little horn. They get a standing ovation every time. Do something different every week and you'll deserve that standing ovation. They start at the first of the summer and do the same ten minute performance for the whole season. Change it up and you might deserve a ovation, probably not a standing one. Football parents support the band by eating from there concession stand. So the band parents should support the football team and give them a little love when something good happens, instead of sitting there on their butt.
  8. Why do people complain about referees? If someone will look at the penalty yardage from Friday, the stats will say they were about even on penalty yards if not Greeneville had more. I think South had one holding penalty and the block in the back on the last kick-off. Thats it.
  9. Steve Spurrier is the best, the only player from the state to win the Heisman (correct me if I'm wrong). His NFL career was not the best, 10 year career isn't too bad I guess, but the man is Football. Also could be known as a great athlete in his day. Three sport all-state. Drafted by Major Leagues out of high school. Many Tennessee fans hate to admit it, but the man was a great player. This is one Vol fan that gives big time credit to the Ol' Ball Coach. By the way how many people realize Spurrier is from Newport. Lived there before his family moved to Johnson City.
  10. The Ice is going to break for West Greene its just a matter of when. Good Luck Buffs!
  11. Can I bring up a 4A stadium, Tennessee High in Bristol has the Greatest Stadium in the state. I think there are some pictures are the Tennessee High website. If you have never seen it, you should check it out. The Stone Castle is awesome. They also have a great playing surface, well taken care of. Check it out at http://www.btcs.org/ths/football/Castle.htm
  12. I'm ready for tonight. The past won't matter when the ball is kicked off tonight. Thats what I love about game time. The only thing that matters is the 2 football teams on the field and their coaches.
  13. Less than 24 hours away so I decided I can predict now Greeneville 27 Daniel Boone 13. 27 because of a couple of made field goals, 13 because a missed or blocked EP.
  14. I did, I also saw every other team. At that time I was only paying attention to Jeff. County, because they were Greeneville's first opponent.
  15. Is Boone's line big? Are they tall and heavy or just heavy? Don't know?
  16. Barb, Greeneville fan i'm guessing? I played under coach Zeller (Greeneville's Old Coach). The team just seems to be more motivated and excited than what the last two seasons showed. I never played against Boone, and I never even saw Boone play until this years jamboree, so I'm excited to see how good Boone really is. The jamboree and the BIG WIN versus South Greene has me feeling really good about our chances tomorrow night.
  17. Well only one more day. I can't wait until the game. Does anyone else agree with me on this, Who loves to here all those wanna-be coaches in the stands at football games (I iknow a this is a little off topic). Would the game be the same if people just watched the games and didnt contradict the real coaches?
  18. This should be a good game, i'm not talking anymore details. The Devils had an awesome practice today, and I think they're going to talk plenty without ever saying a word on Friday.
  19. I agree, 400+ yards is way too many. But that is where practice comes into play. Talking to one of the assistants, the Buffs had one of their best practices of the year yestereday.
  20. I'm not saying the Devils have won by any means. I've played enough football to not pull out the "We're gonna win!" The Boone players I respect because of their style of play and their attitude. It's some of the posters on here that confuse me, many do not know football besides what they get by watching their beloved Vols and what the announcers tell them. When I do make a prediction, if I do, it will be an educated decision using football knowledge and awareness of the teams and players playing on Friday night. "you won't hear Boone whining. Those boys are trained to accept reponsibility and move on." I agree, I know the players and coaches will not be whining. No matter who wins or loses, there is a game next week. They have to move on.
  21. Yes I know it takes a while to turn a program around, but in West Greenes case or in Joe Case's (West Greene's New Head Coach) case the program has made a tremendous improvement. Yes I know they lost last week but things are changing at West Greene. I have spoke to some of the players, and the excitement is there. If they don't turn the ball over they will be in every game.
  22. Since when has Boone been known as athletic, yes they have the reputation to be hard nosed and to play really hard. I'm not sure how long it will be before people begin to give Greeneville some credit. I guess it will just take winning week by week to prove to people that McCurry and the boys are not the same Greene Devils that were seen the past two seasons. But i'm sure that even then some people will not give any credit, they will just say something like, "Well if we would have done this and done that we would have won," DUH! Anybody can second guess after a loss.
  23. Yes it is time for conference week. Greeneville will be looking to avenge 2 losses in a row to the TrailBlazers, that sholud be plenty of motivation to lift the Devils past the Blazers. After seeing Boone in the jamboree, I'm just not sure how Boone compares athletically. I know Boone will be hard nosed and won't give up. In East Tennessee that can go along way. I will make a prediction later in the week when I read more about the match up.
  24. West Greene has a very talented junior running back. Regardless of what his team has done the last two years, he has ran for at least 1000 in the last two seasons. Jordan Ward is a very solid runner he's 5'11" 205 and can run. The Buffs also have a very good football player in #8 Michael Edwards that will be at safety and receiver, maybe even some other positions
  25. I've witnessed practice first hand this week. The Devil D will be ready. McCurry is an unbelievable D coach, and the offensive coordinator is very smart. I expect to see the ball in the air alot on Friday in Bluegrass Country.
