I am so proud of the Whitehaven High School Football Team for winning the Tennessee 6A Football Championship this year. Congratulations - team members, coaches, teachers, students, administrators, support groups, community, and alumni! All represented well throughout the season, including the championship game. You are the Champions! Now catch up on that schoolwork! Congrats to Maryville too on a great season!

I am changing my 6A pick to Whitehaven. Go, Tigers!

Yes, KWC, it has been wonderful watching the coaches, players, and all required to build a first-rate program, figure it out. I actually like this Whitehaven team a little better than last year's team, due to the quarterback, and the continued improvement and maturation of the coaching staff. If the coaches and players have the right mindset and can maintain composure and make the necessary adjustments (which could be just sticking to a particular game plan), when needed, they have an excellent chance of winning this game. Last year's game was a great learning experience for Whitehaven. Keep an eye on this thread; I may change my pick to the "Whitehaven Tigers!" For me, this is a tough one to call.

Better late than never...here are mine: Webb Ensworth Huntingdon Milan Beech Adamsville Covington Maryville (boy, I hope I'm wrong; I will be rooting for Whitehaven)

Whitehaven is not as big along the lines as they were last year. In my opinion, this team isn't one of the "bigger" Whitehaven teams I have seen during the past few years. However, this team is very fast and very athletic. They are a well-coached group. I actually like this team more than last year's team, mainly due to the quarterback. Though the defense is very good, it appears that a power running game could be effective, with patience. MJ can be effective if they can run the ball, limit turnovers; speed the game up; and keep Whitehaven's offense on the sidelines. MJ will also have to create and capitalize on mistakes. We'll see what happens tonight! Oh, and by the way, Whitehaven does have a beautiful new artificial field. Also, the food at the game is very good. I had an awesome grilled tilapia sandwich from this vendor that was in the lot just outside the secondary gate. I attended one game there this season and may have to get to this one tonight.
