  1. Either way--these two teams are sure to please the fans with some really good soccer. Good luck to both teams as they both have great athletes! I agree with secoverated the team that plays like they want it the most will probably win regardless of rankings.
  2. Your reputation Preceeds You on this Forum and in the community! Somethings never change.
  3. Thanks so much for clearing this up. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  4. Can some of you big posters out there explain the TSSAA rule of not competing/playing/practicing in club sports while playing in high school? My understanding is that an athlete who does so risks forfeiting games for his/her high school. As you can see, I have only a few posts and don't know much. Maybe MustCoach can help me clear this up as he appears to coach a club team? Wouldn't doing this along with playing high school be against regulations?
  5. I'll come to the rescue of "woodeng" to at least offer that it is nice to see smaller teams from areas not completely stocked with "club players" do well and play soccer "the right way". I'll also bet the right way he was refering to doens't include "Boom Ball/Long Ball Soccer''. A team that isn't executing small sided triangle "brazialian style play" is generally just playing long ball with a couple of cherry pickers up top. Just tune into any good soccer and it's not long ball. Now, is Chuckey Doak playing a true flatback 4--I do not know because I haven't seen them play, but at least this guy "woodeng" knows what he is talking about. Teams such as Farragut, Bearden,Collierville, and Brentwood will always be the powerhouses because of the number of club players. For the most part these girls have known how to play soccer for years before they even get to high school. It says a lot for this Chuckey Doak coach that he actually is teaching the girls the "right way".
  6. OJ should be ashamed that he didn't make adjustments earlier, but of course he isn't about that. The News-Sentinel picks Ms. Howell as a player to watch? A little couth could certainly go a long ways in these situations. Hey, though---got to make those numbers look good. Great players are the ones who make weaker players look great without even trying.
  7. If you will notice the name of the Heading is Best freshman and newcomers for '07!!! NOT Predictions for '07 based on a few good players. No intent was made to making predictions. My comment along with others pertained to some good athletes that could make a difference in their school programs no matter how good or bad the high school program might be. I am simply not qualified to name any West Tennessee players that are Freshman that are up and coming. Yes , I saw some at D1 and D2 TSSA State Tournaments, but do not know their names or schools. Additionaly, I am fully aware of how great St. Agnes Academy did last year, and yes, one player comes to mind of handling defense very well (Carolyn Capocaccia). Naming 5 players from 5 different schools (4 of which never will even make it to districts let along Regionals or State----No kudos to sling just observation of my knowledge of "Best Freshman and Newcomers '07.
  8. Freshman: East Tennessee: Brianna Holmes playing for Oak Ridge--Great Athlete! Tessa Johnson ---Knoxville Halls and ODP standout. She is very creative and unpredictable! Look for great things from this young lady! Greta Johnson---Karns. Solid and dependable! Middle Tennessee: Alissa Curtis (not sure who she is playing for- small Private Christian school??), Kathyrn Nigro---Livingston Academy. She made the Regional 93 ODP team! One of the top players in the state. Period!!! West Tennessee: ???
