It is not just about the kids missing school and that they have earned the right to get that atmosphere mentioned in a previous post. What about the parents who have earned the right to see their kid play in the state championship? Think of all the time they spent carting their kid back and forth to practice.... the years they spent on the sideline cheering their kid on while they move up through the ranks. Then come to find out that their son makes it to the state championship game only to find that it is in the middle of the day on a weekday. Some people can't afford to take the time off from work or don't have the days left to take off. I'm sure that it would mean as much to the student athlete to have their parents there cheering them on. Another poster mentioned that the game would be televised. Is that true? I know the semi-finals were not televised and they could not get a live feed to watch it while being played.

Yes, you are absolutely right... Cash would have made a huge difference in the results of BA's season had he been in all year.

We are all hoping for a dandy. BA will have to play as they did last Friday against Ensworth for this to be a close one. Given BA's consistent history of coming in second, and a powerful MUS team, I believe MUS will take this one.

Sorry, BA did not stay healthy all year.... Glen Searcy, Jackson Boyd, Phillip Henninger, DJ Luna, Cody Nelson were some of the key that were injured this year and out games. The majority of those are back now, but Boyd still remains off the list and Searcy and Henninger are seeing limited play.

Confused and amateurish are two very good words to describe that team of officials. It was a hard fought game and the officials acted like a third team out there. Crazy stuff to watch helpless on the sidelines! BA came out strong and played better than they have all year. Ensworth came from behind and was nearly able to keep their undefeated season. It was one of the better high school games I have seen in a while, particulary in inclement weather conditions. Ensworth should be proud of the season they have had, especially as this was their second year.

Not only is the game on a week night it is on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Most schools are off Wednesday with many traveling on Tuesday night. If that is not frustrating enough, my understanding is that the game will start at 6:00 pm. Good luck getting to the Boro during rush hour!

Congrats, again to Kathy Kroeger... named the Tennessee female finalist for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award! Kroeger has a chance of being named one of 12 national finalists. One male and female winner will be chosen December 14 and Wendy's will donate $10,000 to each winner's high school according to the Tennessean. Way to go, Kathy!

Thanks for the information on the game. I have to say that I'll agree with soccerfan in that this rivalry is too intense for this game to be meaningless. I don't believe that there is a player on either team that is okay with losing this game even though this was not a "do or die" game!

How were the refs for this game? I understand the last time these two teams met, the refs let things get out of hand and at least one girl was injured.

Thanks for clearing up all the injuries regarding Briarcrest. What about ECS... wasn't there some injuries with ECS? Maybe that is where I was getting the #16 from. LOL! Does anyone know the game time for the ECS vs Father Ryan game on Saturday?
