I am shocked that no one is talking about this HUGE match up tonight. One of the states best teams will be eliminated tonight. Thoughts? Predictions?

Game 1 Friday Night. Farragut 5 Dobyns Bennett 0 Looks like DB was a one hit wonder. Farragut completly dominated the game from the start and could have easily won by a wider margin! I am not sure if it is a situation of loosing to many players from last year or just bad coaching, but tonight they looked really out of sinc and were completly dominated for 80 minutes.

Surprising news out of Kingsport... Coach Calvert is leaving Dobyns-Bennett after this girls season.

I think that it is time to stop bashing Coach Norwood! Anyone who knows him knows that he is a great man. The reason people are so upset that he left Seymour is due to that fact, HE IS A GREAT MAN! People never complain when a coach they hate leaves. This is an opportunity for Coach Norwood to better himself with a new challenge. When a coach leaves one place to go to another, it is a chance for them to instill thier traditions and start over fresh. I think the World of the Seymour Girls and their parents. They are great people. I know that when the dust settles that everyone will look past their own agendas and realize that a man made him self better, and that is what any parent would want their child to do. I wish Seymour all the best and I wish Coach Norwood and Sevier County all the best. Lets stop the bashing of a great person who is making himself better, and start focusing on the season that is close.

Dobyns Bennett and Science Hill play tomorrow night! This is always a huge game in North East TN! Thoughts?

I feel that Coach Norwood at Seymour for the AA coach of the year and Coach Calvert at Dobyns Bennett for AAA coach of the year. Both coaches took programs to the state tournament when they were not even thought of by most. Both teams knocked off "POWER PROGRAMS" to get to State. For Norwood taking Seymour to Chattanooga was the first in school history. For Calvert taking Dobyns Bennett it was the first time in 10 years the school went and in only his 2nd year to make it to the State Semi Finals and set a school record for wins is impressive.

Which Coach deserves to be coach of the year in each of the divisions? And how is this award decided on the State Basis?

I feel that the voters are also playing the "BUDDY SYSTEM GAME"! Perfect example, Dobyns Bennett was ranked in a Tie for #11 last week. They beat a Tennessee High team that was 5-2 coming in. Three of the teams directly in front of them in the poll lost last week. Result??????? Dobyns Bennett not even ranked this week! What a great message to tell our kids. Work hard, win, and move down! Maybe Eurosport needs to not be run by a panel of coaches that care about the game more than about playing mind games with kids.

I am going to go with Seymour 3-1. I agree that both teams lost a lot last year, but I feel that Seymour has what it takes to win this game tonight. Good luck to Coach Norwood and the Seymour Girls!! Make my prediction come true!
