England is a good 1A quarterback and he may be the best in 1A, but I'm sure there are plenty of other quarterbacks in higher classifications that are better.

I haven't seen them but I highly doubt this team is a state championship contender.

After further research I was one year off about Boyd being state runner-up. However, I was being sarcastic about being mistaken. I was on the team that won the 2001 region title. Who cares what the field conditions were? We beat Boyd on that given night and that's all that matters. You are also changing your tune about Whitwell not having good teams since 1990. Like I said, I wasn't claiming those were great teams or serious contenders. You are also leaving out the 1991 team who went to the state semifinals.

If I'm not mistaken Whitwell won a region championship in 2001 and beat 1A state runner-up Boyd-Buchanan during that season. This started a run of four or five consecutive playoff appearances. While I'm not claiming these were great teams, these teams were definitely competitive.

In a matchup of the remaining undefeateds, Whitwell knocks off Marion 54-52. The Lady Tigers (14-4) improve to 7-0 in District 6-A, while Marion falls to 5-1.

Does anyone have a final on this one?

With Whitwell (8-2, 2-0 District 6-A through 12/14) off to a hot start, could this be the year they finally top their neigbors up the road on Highway 28?

I saw the Holland kid averaged 16 a carry according to the TFP Players of the Week, but it's hard to gauge that performance in one week against what I've been told is a sub-par Copper Basin. Needless to say, it's always good to start the season off with a victory (especially after going 1-9) and avenge a loss from the previous season. Anyone know anything about Sunbright? All I know is that they defeated North Greene 38-18 in Week Zero.

Can anyone give some sort of analysis about these teams? I know both won their season openers, but don't know any details about the games. I get the Whitwell scores from my family as I'm now in Illinois, but since the Times Free-Press barely covers us my information is limited.

Anyone have any details? I live in Illinois now and only have access to the scores as reported to me by my family.

Does anyone know the seeds and schedule for the 6-A Tournament? Lookout Valley and SP are 1 and 2, but how do the rest of the seedings look? Also is Richard Hardy even going to play in the tournament?

Delete Whitwell's game on 3/16 against South Pittsburg. The game at Whitwell between the two was played on 3/17 and Whitwell lost 8-2. The game at South Pittsburg between the two was played on 3/18 and Whitwell lost 3-2. Both of these games are district games.

Signal Mountain needs to have their games from March 9 and March 10 marked as district games.

Whitwell's game on 3/15 was rained out and should be deleted.
