I agree! I think this game will be close. Don't think Boyd's Lb'ers or secondary are quite as fast as SP'S. This played a big part in stopping the option most of the time. When SP'S lost some starters due to cramps Jasper was able to make some plays running their option. If Jasper can get the option game going they will score. Boyd is always well coached but I don't think there will be a huge difference in the talent level. Jasper needs to improve their line play, really thought they were whipped up front on both sides of the ball against Sp. If they can get pressure on Boyd's QB and illiminate mistakes this game will be close. Same goes for Jasper's O line they need to give their Qb time. I always pull for the SVC when playing out of the valley. Also have some friends who have kids playing and wish them luck and an injury free game for both sides.

The fumbles last night.... I saw some things that really impressed me about David. Both of his fumbles occured when he was streched out fighting for extra yards. He will correct that. I promise he made a lot of his yards on shear effort. Jasper was doing a lot of spying last night with their lber's. He is a classy guy watched him after the game and he hung around shaking hands even when a lot of the Jasper kids were leaving. And for the record so did the Muir kid.

He was on the side line with cramps....The cramp issue... The less body fat you have the more you are going to cramp. Drinking fluids the day of the game dosen't help they need to start downing a lot of fluids 3 to 4 days before hand. But with guys like Dj and KB they have very little body fat and it's just going to happen. Didn't see many in the first half and going in at half I'm sure played a big role.

I don't look at the numbers much.... I also meant 62 instead of 63 don't even think we got a 63 lol The o line is coming together and they deserve to be recognized. Set with the ole line coach and he was proud of them. Vic is doing a great job coaching.... wonder how many High Schools with the enrollment of Sp platoons. The future looks bright.... I think our players are keeping their egos in-check and as Pirate fans lets all try to do the same... I think the D-line might be the best I have seen since 19??

Be easy on them OP!! I thought the Muir kid played a good game, And Ms. Squaw and Mchs are good sports they did what they said they would do. The one I want to here from is ole Mudhole the rain provided the mudholes but didn't see any pirate tracks in them. We still have a lot of work if we want to excell like last years team. We need to work on our consistancy. We do have some talent don't we?

Had the pleasure of setting between two retired coachs tonite. One a legend in Tenn. and the other a legend in Ga. Would like to give my take on the game. 1st half played with a lot of passion. Sp has some playmakers and I think it showed starting early in the game. They overcame numerous penilties and had two sustained drives with the other scores coming from the playmakers. A word of caution if you key on Jones SP will burn you in a hurry. Seen some fine play out of the QB he is going to be special in my opinion. He Had just one mistake that we saw in the 1st half that resulted in his only sack. Jasper was mixing in some blitz stuff that I thought the offensive line picked up pretty well. #63 for SP played a heck of a game as was noted by my retired coach buddies. I love watching the lineman! He Had a least two pancakes. After Sp went up two scores I think it took a little out of Jasper but they played extremely hard and I didn't see any quit. 2nd half well what can I say.... there seem to be a little let down from both teams I quess you can blame it the heat. A lot of cramps on the SP side... You need to start them fluids a least 3 to four days before game time. Too many turnovers from both sides, I'm thinking Sp had 4 maybe 5. All in all thought they looked good just need to work out some kinks. My game balls goes to #63 #24 #21 and # 40 for Sp and especially those D- tackles. For Jasper #24, #20 and the Wells kid can't remember his #. Thank God that there wasn't any major injuries. Keep your head up Jasper you will win plenty of games this year.

Did I say they played Ball.... Embarrassed ? Hardly Pocahontas didn't notice you giving to many names out. This thread is about a football game and I'm not the one who brought up the education remark which was out of line. I'm proud to have graduated from SP and I'm also proud of being a pirate.

I'm kind of partial to it ,heck; we even beat the mighty Jasper with it when they had what I consider the best player the best player to ever come out of that town. I am very calm and my cage is intact with no visable vibration. With that said, I will inform the ''Pirate Police to keep an eye out for these jawing fans from SP. If you get the chance will you please film the fans of Jasper and I will try to set some classes up for our jawing fans and show them the proper way to act. As for the game, and thats what it is a game it will be decided 8/29. When it's over and if Jasper wins I will be one of the first to come on here to congradulate you. If they lose you want here one peep out of me degrading any player or the school. For the most part the people who have played the game gives respect when its due. These are kids with a lot of passion and when the ball is set in play I doupt any of this internet chatter will be on their minds. What I saw down here at SP. MC will be tough to handle this year. Maybe at the the end of the season the band wagon will have a little room left for them.
