  4. With the starters, 27-14 (4-2 scrimmage score) in favor of OC. JV 13-0 (2-0) in favor of Dyer Co. Final 27-27.
  5. Here is a link to a Youtube highlight film put together by someone at Dyer County. And yes, he can catch a ball!
  6. You asked why? Getting players college scholarships, plain and simple. A break down looks like this: 2008 - Austin Hopper to UTM 2009 - Patrick Haskins to Austin Peay, Aaron Cary to Tennessee Tech (then to Kilgore Jr. College in TX after Aaron didn't qualify academically) 2010 - Jaquis Williams to Western Iowa Community College (then to D-1 Wyoming), Steven Patton to Carson-Newman 2011 - ????? If you are a parent of a player who has the talent to possibly play at the next level, where do you want your kids going? To a program that may win, but the coach(es) never get anyone signed to the next level OR to a program that has started winning AND the coach(es) are getting players to the next level? Right now with this Obion Central team, players to be considered for the next level would be LaDevin Fair, Marcus Parr, Trey Phipps, Mason McGrew, Josh Quinton, and Tanner Cary, with the possibility of a few more. Behind them are some young guys who have the potential to great things also.
  7. The game field is having some work done to it, so right now on the home side near the entrance gate is a large trench that was dug because of some drainage issues.
  8. Correction on the Obion County-Henry County scrimmage. It will be held at Henry County at 6:30.

  15. I was thinking about Patrick Haskins at Obion County, an athlete who had just under 1500 yards rushing, 900 yards passing, and 100 yards receiving. He totaled over 2500 total yards and there is not even a hint of being on an all-star team?!? Like an earlier poster said, who put the roster together based on what criteria???
  16. Wow.....and all this cancelling of a freshmen game has a bearing on Friday night in what way bro? If you want to pursue this line of thought, give Coach Jackson a call and ask him how many games (Varsity, JV, or Freshmen) he has cancelled in his two years at OC. There are probably several answers he could give you, but the correct answer would be one, against your beloved Henry County Patriots. The JV played five games this year (out of 8 scheduled) and the freshmen played 5 games (out of 9 scheduled). So go ahead and keep your panties in a wad because they cancelled out on you. As far as "whining rebel fans", I haven't seen any yet posting. We can't wait till Friday, which we'll be down there in Memphis to cheer them on! And unlike you, I've got nothing but respect for Henry County...good luck to them! Peace!!
  17. Did Obion County cancell a freshman game two weeks ago on Henry Co. or not?...again..just know what you are talking about before you post! Wow, maybe you ought to know what you are talking about before posting bro....according to the freshmen coach (who I happen to talk to), they had to cancel because their freshmen had not played a game in 3 weeks due to other teams cancelling. Add to that it was the next to last week of the regular season. If the game had been earlier OR the other teams had not cancelled so that the freshmen Rebels could play, there probably would have been a game. Like I said earlier, do you honestly deep down in your heart that Coach Jackson would cancel a playoff game? That he, the staff, and the players would work to this point to do something like that? Get real pal!
  18. Well Advisor, it would certainly be nice to know who cancelled out or who you are calling out? I do know that Coach Jackson won't be backing out of a playoff game, even if it is in Memphis. They'll be there ready to play!
  19. Patrick Haskins out of Obion County Central. Don't have the stats in front of me (try to get those soon) but he is lighting things up for the Rebels here in W. Tennessee!
  20. After tonight, the last thing Dyersburg wants to think about is Milan!
  21. i jus dont think oc can stop dburgs exsplosive back.......if they can itll be a game!!! good luck to both!! Only 93 yards for Mr. Taylor!
  22. So a lack of posting on here by OC fans indicates a lack of confidence in the team? Wow, you must a awesome mind reader to know what ALL OC fans think! Using your own logic, you and Purple and Gold Standard must be the only fans of UC since you and him are mostly the only posters on here as fans of UC. Does that mean all the people who sit in the stands on Friday night (and that's a lot of them, having been to some games) have a lack of confidence in the Tornadoes? Obviously not, but apparently what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Also, if the players need postings on this site to get motivated, then there is something seriously wrong!
  23. Westview lost 34 35, Going for 2 point conversion with a few ticks left. They should have gone for the tie because they most likely would have pulled away in overtime. Bad call by WV coaching IMO. Westview doesn't seem to be able to stop anyone. Maybe a long season,. I didn't attend the games and was wondering why you would say Westview doesn't seem to be able to stop anyone, with a 1pt game and had Westview completed the 2pt conversion would that statement been in reverse? Just by looking at the score and not attending the game I would think that I missed a heck of a game on both sides of the ball. Two of Westview's TD's came off kickoff returns, not because of the offense. The Westview D had a hard time stopping Holder. On 95% of the plays where he had the ball, he got anywhere from 5 to 7 yards a pop, if not more. I can't fault Coach Coady for going to for two, because in an OT setting and only having to go 10 yards, it would have been perfect for Huntingdon. It was a very good game!
  24. As mentioned before, now with some new info. Patrick Haskins - 6'0, 195 lbs WR/QB At the NUC in Memphis in rainy/wet conditions: 4.54 40 yd, 4.17 shuttle, 20 reps of 185 lbs Named MVP at combine and invited to the Rivals 100 in Atlanta Featured on Tennessee Rivals site.
