Well from what I hear the new coach there is very controversial. Huge Ego! I've not talked to a coach yet that thought this guy did a good job at Brighton. You know Brighton, the team that beat up on a bad district only to get destroyed in the first round of the playoffs year in and year out. He's also bringing in a bunch of coaches that aren't certified teachers. I know thats who I want teaching my kid. He's ran a bunch of kids off the team from what I hear which may be a good thing. Some of the people around aren't too happy about it though. I'm just wondering how a team thats played smashmouth football with good athletes for the last 40+ years are now gonna throw the ball 40+ times a game. It may work beautifully, or it may be a total disaster. I can't help but believe this guy wasn't the first choice. If so, I'm afraid the search process was very flawed!

I am afraid my alma Mater is in a lot of trouble on this one. The mighty Trojans will have to really surprise some people to win this week. Dyer Co. looks to be clicking offensively, and I don't know if the Trojans can spell offense. What about Haywood? They looked terrible in the first look, but looked much better in the Jamboree. What is JCM like this year? Yanker, where ya at? What do people think about Haywood this year?

Anything in particular that makes you think that USC? I mean I hope that you are correct in your assessment but I don't see it. They were supposed to challenge for it last year with that class they had but barely made the playoffs. Now this year's senior class is less talented, or so I've heard and they're supposed to do better? It will be hard. Good luck Trojans! I think we'll need it!

I heard that one of our coaches from Obion has now been hired in the same capacity at Haywood. I know that coach P did a great job hear with these boys, and I can only imagine he'll do that down in Brownsville. Haywood may be tough now that he's there. Obion doesn't play them in the regular season, but it could easily be a playoff matchup. My beloved alma mater Dyersburg is gonna be mediocre at best I'm afraid. Our coach was decent at Haywood with all those athletes, but now is being exposed with lesser talent. Another season like last year and I'm afraid he'll be shown the door. And I would hope so. Good luck to the Rebels and Trojans this season, and the Tomcats except against those two.

So OCfan, Blake Walton not being able to throw the ball across the diamond from third doesn't have to do with arm problems? And he doesn't work out with football.

Hey justaocfan, what you're saying is a bunch of baloney! The word i get and from what I have seen with my own eyes OC's workouts are the best anywhere right now. The baseball players don't lift heavy or even at all on baseball game days. The reason they are having arm trouble and stuff is because in the fall when baseball had their own athletic block they didn't throw. They sat in the computer lab and played halo every day because the assistant coach is a lazy bum! They could have thrown for 30 minutes every day and then played halo in the lab for an hour. But no, they just played the whole time. They wait till February to start throwing, and so now in March they are having throwing problems. Yeah, thats the way it works. Don't blame football for doing their job to the fullest degree, blame baseball for being lazy. But hey, they got really good at halo.

Do they still have the same head coach? If so, I don't expect much out of them.

Any Ripley fans on the board? What are the thoughts on this game? I think Obion wins if they continue to run the ball and play good defense. I don't know much about Ripley however.

I just wanted everyone from D burg to see my post. This is how I feel and it hurts to see my beloved program fall in the toilet! Where do I start? As a former Dyersburg player and a current Obion Co. resident I cheer for both, unless they are playing each other then its all Dburg for me. We got out played, out coached, out everythinged. Anybody know how much it would cost to swap staffs with Obion Co.? What a job they have done! This game was lost for us and won by them on the line of scrimmage. Obion's offensive line plays in 2 point stances and they blocked well. I don't know how the line coach gets them to block in a 2 point stance but they are good at it. Obion's D line killed us too. They only had 3 d linemen in most the game and we still couldn't block em. Embarrassing!!! They're offense uses imagination and ours is stale! They're D was more physical than ours and it wasn't close. #7 is the best player I've seen all year. Nobody in North West Tennessee is better than him. Great Job Obion it was great to see how happy your players, coaches, and fans were after what you've been through. However, my Trojans have to step up. Players and especially coaches. We must do better or find someone who will!
