He was a very good coach and he went through some changes in christianity and other things. He was always hard nosed and when this happened he had to coach differently and the players didn't respond to it well and i think they thought he was a push-over. They didn't respect the way he coached like no cussing on the field stuff like that and that led to the losing seasons which led to him resigning.

Well thats good news. Hopefully our d-line will step up and atleast plug up the center. Yes, I will agree jordan did have a good game he didn't get down like he did last year and i guess i am biased to the line we had last year. They still looked shabby for a first game.

The o-line should be pretty good i think they just needed a tune up they should be quick off the ball and open up holes. Hopefully we will see a few more runs to the outside where our backs can utilize there speed. Loved seeing jordan throw for almost 200yds too last game. If the d-line can get in the back field this should go our way I hope. Boone has been a setback for us the past few years. Does anyone know how there rb's are this year.

Wow barb i hope i wasn't this difficult last year. Ok so who cares who u are and where u go. Why does the city get better facilities then the county. First off b/c the city outperforms the county in anything except larry ricker's 2 state titles. Lets play football since 98' you could probably take N.G., C.D, and W.G. combine all there wins and greeneville would still be ahead. Now ask yourself why would anyone wanna contribute to these losing sports. Right now South and North Greene are getting new band rooms. Also how come u get on here and run your yapper about county schools not having this or that. The reason that GHS has this big new nice school is because a man around here wants Ghs to be the center of greeneville and for people moving in here what do they see when they get on tusculum blvd. Also the pay diff. of teachers is a good 10%. Ask yourself has the county asked for any upgrading of facilities. Don't even go talking about west greene all they need there is to build on not to build a new school. Chucky doak has a h.s. that is what going on 5 years now don't u think the investors had a hand in that. If the county schools want something alls they need to do is ask or start winning. Oh and u also mentioned something about county kids transferring. Well if i was a good athlete and had the option of going 1-9,2-8 ; i would definately go to a city school where i new i would pretty much be called a winner. Now ur sitting 4THANDGOAL with your head between your legs. Don't go trying to bring that trash back again

Jc i have a question for u those two first half personal fouls on us was that a bad call or a good one from the home side it looked horrible. Jeff. County played a great game and i think i was one of the only devil fans that had some fear about you all running all over us. Good job to the patriots

I think honestly all of us know we should be playing down but, with all the renovations to the stadium and the teams we would face that seems like a slap in the face to many people. I think we will move up and unless we start recruiting we will hardly ever see the playoffs past the first round.

This is true down in greeneville for years now we have been playing 4a going up against teams with twice as many kids as we have. We have done well and defended our own but many people are asking now that this reclassification is out what if were would have a 3a how many state titles could we have had. I don't remember who started this thread but u have a great point. Yeah volunteer did get lucky last year and beat THS but thats not a every year thing. It seems like the same teams are always fighting for top honors with SOUTH and THS in the MLC and GHS, WEST and EAST in the 5 rivers. The schedules are weaker up here a few years ago we had knox central and anderson county to start off the year. Hopefully they just put maryville in a league of there own but i think there big time streak is about up.

Yes Jordan did have his share of off the field problems but that was last year. Any one in that lockerroom will tell u he has came a mile and then some. 9-12 for 94 yds in the jamboree the other night is a start. He has become very good at reading the blitz and keeping his emotions inside of him and letting his arm and teammates do the talking for him. Why would the devils overlook jeff. Sure all they have is mcfall but there gonna play this game like any other one week at a time. As for the prediction of 35-21 jeff i'd like to know which magic jenie is telling u that one. If greeneville's defense can hold j.c. to 21 then the offense will have it in the bag

Well hopefully the block wall will be taken down and moved back and ive heard there is supposed to be more seating but yes it should happen once the season is over. I doubt the weight room would be built b/c of the addition of all new equipment last year but it would really help the field b/c right now the bleachers look really tacky next to the field.

Well mccurry is really hard on them. They do have a lot of holes to fill, but they are returning stewart at mlb and barner and hall should be at the corners. I would guess that quarles will be at safety again this year and he got better as the year went along. Ive heard that the d-line should have some speed and bj spradlin is at outside linebacker. Other then that i guess we'll have to wait and see against j.c.

Ive been good been on the field all summer working on the turf. I sure hope everyone likes it b/c it has been quite a pain. Tons of work.

Let me see if i can answer your ? Coach anderson went to carson newman where from what i hear he played football. So your answer is yes now we can stop this crap and move on. Wow it took alot to answer that one.

This should be a great game! Greeneville's O should be one of the best in this area. The way i see it the Off. is way ahead of the D. They are returning pretty much everyone except a few linemen. If they let jordan spread the o out this could be a great team to watch. I really think he has the possibility of a 2000yds through the air and atleast 500 on the ground. He has come along ways with his maturity and he has stepped up as a big time leader. The defense will grow as mccurry lights the fire underneath them. Jefferson county should have the edge on defense as of now but mcfall at qb,thats a toss-up. The field is about 95% completed just a few loose ends here and there.

I don't have any pics but i guess i should been out there all summer. For all of that have visited burley stadium the visitor side was always hard to get to now there is a sidewalk with 3 flights of steps. Brick columns and black iron fence surrounds the entire field. Yes the field house was painted and tried to match up to the brick color on the high school. There is only one scoreboard now its in between the fieldhouse. The landscaping is amazing all the rocks have been removed for the most part and replaced with various types of plants. At the back of the fieldhouse holly trees have been planted so in a few years its should look like a hedge. The field will have GREENE in the south endzone and DEVILS in the north. AT midfield is a GHS logo. That should cover it all without any pics.

I was reading the standard banner about the qb dilemma. I was wondering if u all could catch me up on a few things. Ok Mcfall has over 2500 rushing yds in his career at jchs. Why would u move him and put him at qb. This seems to be happening alot nowadays in hs football a kid that is a stand out is moved to qb and in most cases he is no where near as good as his original pos. Why not just give it to the darby kid, who seems to be the more trained qb and let him pitch it to mcfall.

Well after the rain we got today I hope there working 24hrs a day the next 4 days to get finished and ive heard he doesn't wanna ask frankie to play on there field and the indoor practice facility is probably out of the question too.

The turf is down. The problem is they shipped the wrong size for the greene devils that will go in the endzone. Its a slow process lol. Right now there trying to get half of the field ready to played on. The rubber still has to go into the turf and that looks to be about an 8 day process. So hopefully they will have half or maybe get lucky and it all be down by tuesday afternoon.

The field was moved down eight yards towards the old cemetary. The field has come a long ways since starting back around april. The turf is top of the line as pointed out earlier. Although the thing thats gonna hurt most is hitting the ground with all the rock thats underneath. I think when people see the end product they will be very pleased

That was a great game last nite until the refs butchered the spot on 4th down. But I only have one thing to say Curt is the man he is ur team take him out and u all might have been 6-4 this year. In basketball u always have one player that can dominate but i think this is one of the firsts for football. Wow like its been all year if u can't stop curt u can't win congrats south. Although with maryville they have an entire team of stars and who would've though that red bank a 12-0 team would have been slaughtered like that. But good luck next week south.

I have a brother that plays for Greeneville and i know alot of his friends thats why i am on here. But u man what are u 45 or there abouts geez man. You get on here and go blah blah blah and give us mature speeches of how we should be honored to be around tn high and all there greatness. Why don't u go cook ur turkey, ur black eyed peas and some of those chitlins and then friday nite u come to south and watch a great football game. No ur wrong there student section is what every team needs the players really get behind them. Back in 03 thats how our student section was very rowdy the principal was always threatening them but they always had our backs. Yeah our fans were off last week bustin out but i think it was b/c of how we started the game it was uncharacteristic of our gameplan all year. Let me tell u about there offense from my standpoint if u wanna come see another game this is the one. Ok yeah to be honest curt is all they have he usually accounts for more than 80% of there offense and I have been keying in on the fact that they have 6 guys going both ways.
