  1. Wow - you really know its not our night when the best kicker in Chattanooga can't make that FG.
  2. Well - now its over for sure. Who will Oakland play in the championship? Oakland should win just based on a great defense. Great season for the Owls though - can't get passed that stupid semi-final...
  3. Total self-destruction and lack of focus... now two turnovers on Ooltewah's side of the field. They had a good run - sad to see it end that way. You can't make those kind of mistakes when you're playing a team that is as good as you to begin with. Well Oakland didn't score off that - but Oakland is going to have to throw some INTs or fumble if they're to get back int this game.
  4. And there we go again - another Owl's mistake. Pathetic.
  5. Read my post. Wow. I didn't say the game SHOULD or COULD be 7-0. I said 14 points came from Ooltewah mistakes and the other 7 from horrible offensive play giving Oakland the ball on Ooltewah's side of the field (or really close - don't remember exactly). I was making the argument that it's not likely that either team scores much without mistakes. Ooltewah hasn't played horribly (yes - I realize what their offense is doing - but this is how bad their offense normally is sadly - except we normally run better).
  6. Doubt it will get ugly if Ooltewah comes out and plays smart the 2nd half. Both defenses are good. If Ooltewah can keep its defenses rested a bit (unlikely) - then neither team will be scoring much more. 14 of Oakland's have come off big mistakes - their one drive they scored on was from the 50.
  7. It will take big mistakes by Oakland (you know... something like a fumble on a screen and a huge punt return /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />) for Ooltewah to have a chance. Our offense won't score more than 10.
  8. Ooltewah is self-destructing on offense. Going to cost them the game. Sad to see. Now they're sucking it up on special teams. About to be 21-0. Game.
  9. Tough game. Amazing defense by Ooltewah. Ads ended up with negative rushing yards. John Long missed a chip shot FG. Was stunned - that never happens. Farragut played very good defense for most of the game but their D-line got worn down and the Ooltewah running game got going in the second half to close out the game.
  10. 7-7 beginning of 3rd. Farragut made a big mistake just like the Owls in the first half. Ooltewah recovered a fumble at the 5 or so but got a delay of game so started at the 10. 3 straight runs got them 7 yards. Went for it on 4th and scored just like Farragut - the ads had 12 men on the field during the 4th down play.
  11. still 7-0 Farragut at half - Ooltewah is in trouble.. can't run... Reed taking way too many sacks and passing game hasn't done anything because of the pressure... neither team may score again so whichever team makes less mistakes should win.
  12. Reed throws an INT and returned to like the 2... 3 straight QB sneaks and another sneak on 4th down finally got the Ads in.
  13. You're a Vols fan right? Well get some common sense because he is most likely going to Tennessee (said he was coming here - that was before Phil was let go - but I assume he'll still come). He's been in the recruits section in the green seats at Neyland atleast once... and has also been on trips to Bama and Ole Miss. The guy is atleast the top 2 in the state. Get a clue.
  14. Sawdy had about 300 yards passing but several costly turnovers. You're going to throw several interceptions as Parrot did though when you throw 40+ times against such an athletic defense (unless your a super star QB) so I don't think Soddy really shot themselves in the foot in that way. It was bound to happen just like last game. Soddy didn't run for hardly any though. They did have a costly fumble though that could have been prevented and Ooltewah did have an INT as well. Ooltewah only managed to score on big plays and couldn't sustain anything. Big runs by Polk gave them 10 and 7 more from a KO return for a TD beginning the 2nd half. Ooltewah once again didn't have a passing game and only a little over 100 rushing yards I think. Game was all about defense and Soddy did a lot better against the run. Ooltewah's D-line was very good again but quick passing neutralized the pass rush a bit.
  15. They're doing quite well because they're facing way less competition and play against crappy teams compared to Ooltewah. I'm not sure what your point is? Yes - there are some people who leave for other reasons than playing time - but I know MANY that have left because they weren't going to get to play much and were at best a backup and ending up starting at smaller schools.
  16. Sorry, thats not the case. I would hardly call that competition. I'll take Maplewood > McCallie. McCallie could barely stay on the field vs. Ensworth. If they were not in their own Division II league... then they'd be competing and hanging with 4A, not with 5A.
  17. Wow we gotta play Sawdy a second time in three weeks... I don't like that... hopefully we start working on defending the slant route ahead of time. I dunno if we'll be lucky enough to return two INTs to the house again.
  18. He hasn't shown much leadership to date getting in trouble a lot - and he's probably frustrated never getting the ball since he's a heck of a talent. This is just a few of many times... I don't think its that big of a blow till later in the playoffs when we're going to have to throw to win since we never throw at all anyway... even if we could throw. Goodluck to you Gino.
  19. Thanks for the laugh! Ooltewah has only had 9 games two years in a row and have had to play Nashville teams.
  20. Doesn't really matter - generally all of the good players are zoned Ooltewah that go to Hunter. Only about a few every year are really lost that would make a difference.
  21. Yes, everybody as in 3-4 grumpy old men. I'm sure if you were fortunate enough to make a big play like that you wouldn't of just walked back to the defensive huddle like nothing happened. Get real and stop calling him classless for getting excited. I would have a problem with it if he was taunting someone after it but he had no one near him and was facing the opposite direction of anyone on the field. I'm sure you are all pro NFL celebration penalties as well. Lets just take all the fun and excitement out of the game for these kids and call them classless when they celebrate. We're both entitled to our own opinion but I think some of you have ridiculous views on it - and if the coaches were that upset he would of been on the bench for awhile but he definitely stayed in there.
  22. Yeah it is. But that doesn't make celebrating a good play classless. Seriously.
  23. Not really. It happens at every level of the game. Players don't get booed for it in college and pro for doing it. It's not like he was doing the Sean Merriman dance and taunt routine. Robert Ayers for UT does it a lot and even Jacquez does it - never seen anyone boo people for pounding his chest twice. Happens in basketball as well. I can't count how many times I saw Chris Lofton do it in a big game situation where he made a clutch 3.
  24. Whatever. That is far from immature and classless. I'm not sure how you could think that unless you're 70ish and one of the pro-no celebrations in the NFL. Kid was just excited. He didn't taunt anybody. He wasn't even facing anybody. Its not different than throwing up your arms in celebration after making a good play. And I wouldn't called it concerned. I asked myself 'what just happened'? But if you were sitting around me then you'd know I wasn't worried about the second half. Sawdy was full of big plays from ST and busted coverages so I knew it wasn't going to continue. It was only a matter of time.
