Oneida's 2nd team quarterback wasn't that bad, honestly. He was on target most of the night, we just had good coverage, and they thought the way to beat us was threw the air, like you said. Didn't work, but they tried. Now their not a passing team by no means, but they slung the rock more than most and we batted em down, it's a shame we didn't catch any. Unicoi tried to throw the ball on us as did HV and Johnson County. Scalper, I haven't posted on this thread since it opened, no need to, I knew it would be a good game. But FYI. The coaches message to the Hampton boys at the half was to run out the clock. That's the truth. Not even one forward pass in the second half from Hampton, everything was either up the gut or lateral. We had 4th and 1, 2 or 3 several times and he planned not to go for it all along, punt it away and play defense. Now I'm not saying Oneida played bad, because they definately came to play ball, and did a very good job on defense. We could not run up the gut on Oneida much, maybe a few yards here and there so hats off to your defense. Good game to Oneida. Dogs, get a good week of practice in, I've got a feeling we've got a tough one next week.

I heard the replacement scoreboard will be here Tuesday, hopefully they can get it up in one piece. Last year when we went down to coalfield I think we took the entire community, at least it seemed as though everyone in Hampton was there. It was standing room only on the visitors side and the fans were fired up. I hope Coalfield brings as many that are fired up to suport their team this Friday and we get to see a good game. I always liked playing coalfield, good kids and good fans. With that said, Coalfield may be banged up, and may not be as good as last year, but they'll come to play and we better come out ready to play ball too, we can't under estimate anyone in the post season.
