  1. What is Lavergne going to do? Score one field goal again and hope that the other team doesn't score 5 this time? Give me a break. There is NO WAY that Lavergne goes to the playoffs.
  2. Oh and by the way, I love your little Siegel rap song. It fits in nicely with the 85% Caucasian population of your school. Can you say wanabees?
  3. When the regular season ends and Smyrna and Riverdale are in the playoffs and the spoiled little rich school is sitting at home again, nobody will care about Friday's game. You can spend all of Daddy's money to make your school look good, but it WILL NOT buy you wins. And to reply to the other poster about bands, Smyrna performed their entire show compared to Siegel only doing the first bit. Siegel fell apart with their tempo's at the end and the band was "phasing" you better stick to being an average football observer and leave the Band to the experts.
  4. Smyrna is doing "Minimally Speaking" by Saucedo.
  5. O.K. Siegel won. The Smyrna Defense gave up only 3 of the 14 points. First field goal on a fumble recovery and a touch 6 TD after an interception. Smyrna has alot of work to do and I am not making excuses, but Smyrna's QB will be Joshua Woodall whenever his off season shoulder surgery is 100%. For those who don't know Woodall came in the game against Brentwood Academy last year after Sonny Gray got hurt and played the entire 2nd half and came within ONE yard of bringing the Dawgs back for the win. Smyrna's D is going to remain stout and the offense will begin to click better down the road. And as to all this Siegel Nation crap, why don't you actually make the playoffs for the first time let alone win two back to back gold balls before trying to act like you are the next great thing.
  6. Lincoln County will do their usual. They will play well enough to make the playoffs in their division then have to play a real team from region 4 and get destroyed in the playoffs. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. This kid isn't even the best Bulldog running back in the state. That would go to Bryson who plays for the real DAWGS.

    No sports

Marching bands have been used by the military for centuries before modern sports were even invented. Marching bands still exist long after the current sports are considered outdated.
  9. Did you bother to watch the Brentwood Academy game? Sonny goes down in the first half and Josh Woodall comes in and is a drop away at the buzzer to beat BA on the comeback. The Dawgs will be just fine. Jeremiah will be just fine behind that line and plenty of receivers will step up to catch the ball. I feel like the other poster....PLEASE think that the Smyrna game on your schedule is a gimme. Heck don't even practice or scheme the week before you play us. We will just cash in another gold ball.
  10. Jeremiah Bryson #22 is the kid from Smyrna. He is a phenomenal athlete. I remember watching him play at the middle school last year and it literally looked like he was playing at a completely different speed than everybody else. He hits the hole like a rocket, secures the ball well, and ALWAYS finds a way to fall forward thus gaining those few extra yards. He will be giving defensive coordinators nightmares for years.
  11. Apparently the band directors in the TSSAA state championship games this weekend will be given headsets provided by the TSSAA and told when they are allowed to play during the game. This is a direct result of all the babies crying about Smyrna's band playing all of the time. It takes away a great element of the game and the TSSAA should be ashamed of themselves.
  12. Bearden the better team? Not tonight. Who cares about the last 5 minutes? The game must be played for 48 minutes. If Smyrna hadn't decided to play ultra conservative they could have blown bearden out of the stadium. They had absolutely no answers for Rod Wilkes in the first half and what about that stud running back from bearden we heard about all week? Is he the one who did absolutely nothing? Against a prevent defense the worst passing teams can look good. Do you think that if Smyrna had pressed your line and brought a few blitzes that bearden would look that good during the LAST FIVE MINUTES? All that matters is when the clock said ZERO Smyrna had more points. Now go back to East Tenn. with all the other delusional people and enjoy what the SEC team wearing Purple and Gold do to the crappy VOLS. After this weekend people in Knoxville will be having Purple and Gold nightmares. Go Dawgs. Geaux Tigers.
  13. Come on. I am waiting for all of the haters to start talking about how Smyrna hasn't seen a team as physical (Cookville), as well coached (Lincoln Co.), as upstart (Wilson Central), or as tough (Bearden). Independence will probably be picked by everybody to win this game, but that is just fine with Smyrna. They take care of business on the field and luckily don't listen to all of the "experts" on this forum.
  14. Wow. First off go Smyrna! They tried their best to give this game away. Did coach Shadowens learn nothing from Bobby Johnson and Vanderbilt two weeks ago when they smashed UT in the mouth for 3 quarters before getting too conservative and blowing a 15 point lead? Smyrna had only ONE first down after the 7:00 mark in the SECOND quarter. Rod Wilkes could have taken a slant route to the house on numerous occasions, but NO they run the ball. To top it off, they decide to run the prevent defense at the end at it almost cost them dearly. When will coordinators realize that all the prevent defense does is prevent you from winning. In regards to the officiating, it was horrible on both sides. Bearden was clearly holding players on their two scoring drives including taking a few defensive linemen to the ground. On the second onsides kick, the smyrna player goes up for the high bouncing kick and snatches it out of midair. He comes down face first and the ground knocks the ball out. It was clear as day. The ground cannot cause a fumble. In response to duh! c, only losers whine about the officiating, winners find a way to overcome those calls and pull out a win. I am sure that a thread has already started about how Smyrna is no match for Independence, but I sure like their chances. GO DAWGS.
  15. Uh... Jeff Shipley plays "Happy Trails" at the end of every Smryna home game regardless of winning or losing. If you want to talk about class, how about the guy from W.C. who ran up to the refs after the game and was insulting them and shouting in their faces? Good teams find ways to overcome marginal penalties....losers just whine about them.
  16. O.K. Just like your huge running back ran all over them 3 weeks ago? Delusion is not a strong point.
  17. O.K. you guys need to learn how to read. Look at my screen name. It is Band DAWG. Duh I wasn't complaining about Smyrna's band, I was praising them. The Smyrna band was directly responsible for helping to lengthen that FG. I wanted to ask people from Lavergne why their band didn't play while SHS had the ball. Come on learn to read.
  18. For anyone who witnessed the game Friday between Smyrna and Lavergne, you must have noticed the difference in procedure between the two bands. When Lavergne had the ball, Smyrna's band played continually causing a distraction for the lavergne offense. In fact, on Lavergne's last drive, the Smyrna band was directly responsible for two penalties including a delay of game and an illegal procedure. This alone added TEN yards to the FG which was eventually missed. The Lavergne band on the other hand had ample opportunity throughout the game to distract Smyrna's offense, especially when the game was played on their end of the field, yet the were SILENT. This post is not meant to stir up debate on the better band, but rather to point out a good reason why Smyrna won.
  19. The Smyrna band directly caused TWO penalties on LaVergne's final drive adding TEN yards to the field goal attempt. Say what you want about the band, but don't get your panties all riled up because Smyrna's band actually plays in the stands instead of maybe banging on some drums.
  20. A huge factor that nobody seems to grasp regarding this game is the non-region schedules that each of these teams have played. While Lavergne was throttling cupcakes like Hillwood, Antioch, and McGavock, Smyrna was playing against Brentwood(who is down this year), Gallatin, and Brentwood Academy. Lavergne swept their three games and Smyrna lost one of theirs. Smyrna however is better off because of the challenges they faced. Battling for four quarters against a good team gives better preparation than putting in the backups because you are blowing out a weak opponent. Lavergne's lapse of focus cost them against siegel and will contribute to their downfall this Friday night.
  21. Forget Vols, Gators, and Blue Raiders.... Rod needs to be a Commodore!
