  1. mjuhb-- Welcome back! Missed you during the girls' season. Let the controversies begin!
  2. Big G's right. In fact, here's the link to the file, I think. http://web.knoxnews.com/pdf/1224preppdf.pdf
  3. Very nice spread. This is something the kids can really be proud to add to their scrapbook.
  4. New to the board and not very knowledgeable, but curious. Why is the town split on Gaddis? Why does the current administration not like Gaddis?
  5. DonC must be in Tahiti, because he usually is right on top of the newspaper stuff. I agree, two very worthy awardees from among a bunch of excellent players and coaches.
  6. Wow! Congratulations to Lee University.

I've just always wanted to use emoticons in a message.
  8. That's a great picture!
  9. So much for believing what you read in the newspaper. That's why I qualified what I wrote with "if it's true".
  10. Here's a quote from the Knoxville News Sentinel: "The TSSAA??™s new district alignments apply to football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and soccer." If this is, in fact, true, then District 4 with Bearden, Farragut, Knox West, Catholic, Maryville, Lenoir City, Heritage and William Blount is a monster soccer district. It rivals District 11 on the girls side and maybe exceeds everyone on the boys side. One or more excellent team will not emerge from the District 4 tournament.
  11. DonC...I think your analysis is spot on. Another reason you can't leave the board!
  12. I agree that Siegel would be a lot better for the Western teams. C-town is about equadistant for Knox and Central. The Tri-Cities (D-B and others) have a somewhat longer hike. Siegel is really a great complex; I hope it doesn't get chewed up like Mike Rose. The C-town venues are great; I'm sure coaches are happy except for the long drive for West teams.
  13. Look forward to seeing her with her new team. Hope it's somewhere local. Bean made the point on another board. A lot of our local teams--Mville, C-N, Belmont (going to NCAA's, by the way), doing well. Maybe your daughter will add to that record.
  14. Hey Don, thanks for the parting thoughts. Only I hope you don't depart. You don't have to! In my opinion, you really added to this board. By the way, your daughter is a fabulous player. Is she going to play at the next level?

    FRA vs. ND

And thank you, Chasanooga, for your enlightening, fair minded match summaries.

    Doubling up

Brentwood wins in OT, 2-1 Father Ryan wins 2-1

    FRA vs. ND

Wow! What are the chances both ND and Baylor lose! My heart aches for the ND and Baylor girls. It must be a gray day in Chattanooga soccer circles.
  18. Yes, the picture really says it all.
  19. This wouldn't make a bad college squad! There are many, many excellent players in the Chattanooga area this year, as reflected in the accomplishments of Baylor, GPS, CCS, ND, Soddy Daisy, Cleveland and others. One player not on your list that I think is excellent is Cary Lieper from ND. She meets many of the criteria you write about.
  20. If my daughter were there I'd want her to squeeze at least a little book time to make up for the school she's missing!

    AAA Contest

Not going to make picks, but I have to say I'm very surprised more people aren't picking a Brentwood / Franklin final. For the most part, the only team that has beaten either one of these two schools is the other one! You'd have to favor these two.
  22. This a great win for DB, but I wanted to write this to recognize Bearden. [disclosure] In reading posts the last couple of months, Bearden fans never tooted their own horn, but they sure could have. Two consectutive AAA State championships in this era of increasing parity is a great achievement for Coach Turner and his troops. When you read accounts of Bearden games, the players and coaches always seem to be gracious. The Bearden parents and alumni have supported that program well with the excellent field and, now, field house. Best of luck to all Bearden seniors who were key to the two recent championships and for the excellent season this year. To all the undergraduates: we all know you'll be back next year right in the hunt for another championship.
  23. GREAT video. Cool music. Siege of Camylarde. ("O fortune, like the moon, you are changeable".) Something nice for the kids to remember.

    AAA Contest

You know, there is a lot of parody, or parity, or parroty in AAA this year. I still put Brentwood / Franklin a shade above the rest. It's very impressive to see so many teams, players, coaches, and fans compete so hard and well.
