  1. Well i can honestly say that I played four years at CAMDEN central( all caps so there is no confusion on my hometown). Every week I'd check the coaches polls and AP polls, and every week CAMDEN would be over looked. Well did this prevent us from playing hard and winning games, obviously not or else we wouldn't be in this discussion. Lions4Ever dont let these people get at ya, like you said everyone on here, in AP polls, and in Coaches polls are gonne play to their Hometown no matter what they say. Next topic, I did place my picks and my selections weren't very different from what we have. My top 4 were as follows, I cant remember all of them. 1) Alcoa 2) Milan 3) Goodpasture 4) Lewis County I also had Boyb Buchanan, Camden, Westveiw, and Hickman County, and CPA in the Mix also(rounding out the bottom half). Not in that order necessarily though. Lastly, for all the hometown fans out there it doesnt matter where your team falls as long as they are within the top 20. If your team falls in this category then they have already given themselves a GREAT shot at getting a State Championship title bid.
  2. First off i realize this aint the topic, but can anyone give me some details on the game from last week? but i dont know much about the Choctaws other than last seasons great run. After hearin all the talk sounds like this should be a great game on both sides.
  3. I cant say who will win Milan, Alcoa, but I think both teams will walk awaay from a game like that havin learned somethin bout each other. All Alcoa fans say No One In 2a Can touch us, and to this point it has been true. All Milan says We Will Give You All You Want, and this will be true as well. These two teams need to play each other and see just how tough each team is. Alcoa is clearly tough from what we know in recent past, and everyone all across the state knows Milan's tradition. All I Can say is bring on the 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME YALL ITS GONNE BE ROUGH!!!!
  4. Well Its Unaminous Its Gotta Be Milan. Overall I agree 200%. But Huntingdon draws a close 2nd, and there are other good teams out there as well. However, Milan has state titles in two classifications, so they win the title town award of west tn.
  5. Well after three disappointing attempts to beat the Tornadoes of Alcoa perhaps it is time for GP to allow someone else a shot at immortality. Though the likelihood of anyone in 2a actually beating Alcoa is slim I will put all my money on THE MILAN BULLDOGS. Though the Bulldogs will more than likely be on the lighter side of major players, you better not ever count these boys out. They are coached by someone who can be(read the next word carefully) Considered as one of the greatest to coach Tennessee High school ball. I look for Alcoa and Milan to meet up in the 'Boro', and for the to be a tough one from teams points of veiw.
  6. thanks for all the news any idea how many will be in attendance
  7. Does anyone know what schools will be participating in this jamboree, and does anyone know what the team pairs are?
  8. Well so far it seems the talk of the thread is Camden, Huntingdon, and Cardinals. My picks: 1. Camden- Though we lost a great senior class last season, we should be able to return to our same level of play as recent years. I look forward to a bunch of boys steppin up & playin Camden smashmouth football. 2. Huntingdon- THis team can never be counted out. THey always find a way to make a good team out of whatever they have, and I look for the Regional Title bout to be between Camden and Huntingdon. As always this game will be a battle from startin horn to endin whistle. 3. Adamsville/ Stewart Co.- This game will more than likely decide the 3rd place team. It could go either way, but my Pick is Adamsville. 4. Waverly- Only question is can this team be able to rebound from all the injuries?
  9. The only i can naswer this is how did Humboldt's season go last year? Now how many Oustanding athletes do they have returning this season? I mean no disrespect to the Bolt, but thuis is just my opinion i could be eatin crow next friday night. So if anyone was offended my apoplogies.
  10. No Camden did not, but next friday Aug. 8 we scrimmage Humboldt. I realize this could be a mockery, but it is also a good chance for younger players to see some play time. Then the 23rd Camden will play Bruceton Tigers in the Jamboree at Huntington. The first game of regular will be a serious challange again this year, when we p[lay Trenton at Historic Wright Feild.
  11. Well after last years 2nd round appearance, and let down can the LIons rebound? We lost a lot of great young men with great abilities & talents, but will the new seniors & underclassmen rise to the challenge?
  12. LIke everone else on this thred i will play the game, but the outcome is INEVITABLE. 1. ALCOA- this team is loaded from coaches to players plain and simple people. 2. GP, Milan- Its a toss up two really good teams. 3.GP,Milan 4.CPA 5.Martin- Westveiw, Camden Reason for Choices: Alcoa- I think its clear why.(Playing for 5th consecutive title this season.) GP/Milan- GP has been dominated the past three (3) meetings between Alcoa, NO DISRESPECT MEANT only truth. Milan- Came up short against GP last season, and was within one game of facing the Tornadoes. CPA- A darn good team two years ago, and seems they are returning to that same level of play. MW- This is a good team, and they have proven themselves for the past two seasons. Camden- This school has finished 6th or betterfor the past 4 years losing in the play-offs to state-runner up GoodpastureState-Runner up Huntington, and once to CPA. This is a team who have been trying to cross the hump, and could do it this year.

first of all for u to talk about a team that has been there the last 8 years and won four times and runner up twice is rediculous. they are never on "cruise control" they just didnt play there best ball this week. and coach dyer would never do anything so rediculous as this. u should no what ure talking about before u speak. we love u coach dyer
  14. HOLY COW man you aint playin thats a rivalry. Though the rivalry and atmosphere is intense, Excited, and heated there is always an air of respect between these two teams. LC keep up the hard work and hopefully we'll get to see yall and your Panthers 2nd round or so /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />. Both of these teams seem to be contining their traditions this coming year. Best of luck to both Lions and Panthers alike ha ha
  15. Excellent post Washem! I graduated 2 years ago and I still hold every memory I ever made from football as the most endeared. I can say with all certainty IF a person truly loves this sport then those feelings will never go away. SO keep drillin this thought into the young men who are still playin high school ball.
  16. congrats this was huge. this game was really big yall should drum the number 2 seed from usj district which would be covington or ripley. this was big getting to stay away from gant and the bruins. once again good luck
  17. so it appears dyer county is going to win the district and do it the same way they did it last year
  18. this kid is easily outsmarted at the plate. he couldnt hit my brothers curve ball who doesnt even play baseball, he cant hit a fastball over 85 which means he cant hit in college. and check north sides schedule its not to great.
