Though we lost, that's a positive to look forward to. Seems we might have a "good" defense...something to build on. Offense???...well, that remains to be seen and developed. But, fright night is over and I look forward to our next match-up. We certainly had quite a few opportunities to win the ballgame...some miscues and missed opportunities led to a different outcome. Not bad for a squad that was pretty much totally depleted of all of their starters. I think it's possible we can get 3 or more wins out of our next 6. Not bad for rebuilding.

Seems like we're out with the old and in with the new. Why is everybody so down on Bryson? The kid is remarkable and will continue to grow and make plays...give it time. He can't be a one man team, that's way beyond anyone's expectations. Congrats again to the Siegel Nation!

Kudos to La Vergne for keeping Crocker in check or maybe I should send my kudos to Blackman coaches...anyhoo...the youngsters played tough and kept what was supposed to have been a blow-out, a close game. So, congrats to both teams and to Blackman for the "W". I don't believe there was any undue ugliness on any side in particular. It's high school football people!!! The way I see it, both teams were just trying to fire up the crowds...that's high school football. Though I have to comment on that pic the DNJ ran...Crocker throws like a girl...I can't stop laughing!!! It's all in good fun...that's why we all get excited when there's football under the Friday Night Lights!!!!

La Vergne's basically all new line-up is untested. Curious to see who will step-up in tonight's game...who will be the new playmakers for La Vergne? Grooms is a capable, young QB. I agree that next year they will be much better. But who knows, stranger things have happened. The one thing I do know is this will certainly be a "grudge" match when Crocker is in the game. Best thing that happened to La Vergne is NO MORE CROCKER DRAMA!!! Hopefully he has matured and is where he wants to be. Because sitting on the bench at La Vergne for your attitude did us no good!!! Should be a great game from La Vergne because of that. Now, can they step up to the challenge? We'll see. Good luck to all! Predicting a huge upset...GO RINES GO!!!!

I'm impressed with their coaches, their players and the students. If there is anyone out there this morning that doesn't think this is the best Region in the State....you have got to be kidding me!!!!! To bring those kids from last year to the record they have this year is a great coaching coup! I can't say it's really a lack of support...those are things you have to overcome to be a great football team. La Vergne's history has shown a lack of support unless it's a big rivalry game. But when your son comes home and says there were more kids at the premiere of SAW IV than the football game...it's disappointing to say the least. It seemed like La Vergne's defense got tired and sluggish in the 4th, Tillery not playing, not capitalizing on your drives...especially the last one....those are the biggest factors I think. Positives....Crocker continues to impress me under pressure, Chris Gray.....WOW...that boy has a nose for where to plant his feet.....sometimes his body looked like he was playing Twister and he still managed to catch the ball inbounds. I hear he's finally getting some looks from some big name schools....much deserved!!! No one can honestly say we can't play with the BIG boys this year! We just haven't won when we needed to. When you're consistently playing "Ketchup" (as I call it) going into the last minutes...it would be nice to have a fan base!!

I hope La Vergne brings a huge turn-out to rain on WC's parade! This is gonna be the best match-up outside of the county. Wilson County has the talent and the record to match. La Vergne should not be taken lightly and I think they have a little something...something to prove to the WC boys and to the other teams that squeaked by (ouch...that hurts to say!). La Vergne brings it...in true black-n-blue gritty fashion!!! Go Wolverines!!!
