  3. I don't remember who had talked about tackling but I had noticed that Brighton had some big gains. Those gains were caused due to hard fighting backs and a weak tackle. It was still a great looking first game. Riverdale has been weak in the pass game because they don't have to use it in seasons past. The receivers looked great on the passes that were thrown and blocking down field was superb. I think they might need to hit up the passes more so that they can stay balanced. And 2P, my girlfriend's sister is in the Warrior band so I went to see her. I'll be back at Oakland next week. I'll be snapping some pictures getting some practice in for MTSU games that are about to start up. I'm looking forward to seeing them in action.
  4. Great game last night for Riverdale. I'm still a biased Oakland fan, however the Warriors will definitely make it an interesting year. Special teams looked great. The kicker has got a leg on him for sure. Once they get the timing down I don't think there is a chance he'll get blocked. If Brighton would have gotten on their horses they had an opportunity to get a couple XP's. But I'm sure that will get addressed come Monday afternoon. Defensively I was impressed by the speed of the Warriors. They aren't overly big but I personally think that football is moving into a finesse stage of the game. Speed is a big strength for them. I would have to disagree with the tackling being the best I've seen. It was taking two and three defenders often to stop the Brighton backs. They were good backs, but there were several arm tackles that should have stopped some big gains. On offense, Riverdale again has a strong wing t back situation. With a power back and two speed backs, it'll be tough to hold the Warriors on long drives. The line was big and knew what to do, however I'm afraid that a more athletic front will really cause problems. Down side of being big, is often having some mobility issues. They really but it on the bigs of Brighton though and opened holes for those backs. QB has got some legs under him, which is always a strength for them. Passing looks the same to me. They use it only when they are in trouble which makes it hard to complete. However being the first game, it looked better than in the past. There are always a few wrinkles in the beginning but Riverdale will have a great run this season. They know how to get it done and this year will be no different. Good luck Warriors!
  5. I wish I could make the game, but the land of retail calls me. Don't you love Black Friday and Saturday /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I plan on finding a radio for work though and listening to the game on WGNS. I must commend the Patriots for the outstanding job they have done so far, but that the final two games will not be easy. The front seven will have their hands full with the Owls. Secondary has been far from tested, but they must step up this week if Ooltewah says they like run. Any Patriot players on the thread need to just listen to the coaching staff and forget anything else that comes out of here, the paper, or even your own parents. You listen to you FOOTBALL COACHES and you will win FOOTBALL GAMES. Good luck out there and stay warm this weekend
  6. Riverdale has twice I think.
  7. I participated in both programs and they are about the same. In reality Fergs teams were in better shape because we had to be. When you don't have subs, you are forced to. I see very winded linemen when they come off. The speed is noticeable because the current training is based on football actions rather focusing primarily on bench squat and clean. Everything is done not for overpowering strength but for a blend of the two.

  9. I agree that Coach Mac is doing fantastic at Oakland. Things might have been different in the past years if the turn out of players would have been as good. It looks great to see that many players on the sideline. Being able to roll players in and out when they get tired is such a blessing for the team, especially on the trenches.
  10. Good recap of what needs to happen for each team. As of right now, the Oakland-Siegel game is not just a highly heated and anticipated game, but also for who wins the region. If each team keeps playing the way they are now, you won't find a seat within the stadium unless you sleep on the sidewalks of Oakland.
  11. Oakland wins 16-10 is what I am told.
  12. I believe that this game is going to be a higher scoring game. Oakland's defensive has played impressively so far, however Coach Elrod and the Wildcats run a fast offense. Not just speed during the play, but speed between plays. Oakland will have their endurance tested.
  13. Riverdale- they still have pride in this match Oakland- hard to stop a rolling boulder Blackman- just not a fan of smyrna Lebanon- fields an underrated team White Station Dobyns-Bennett Clarksville @ Beech Brentwood Academy MTCS- just being wishful FRA- again with wishes
  14. I was at the game and really enjoyed it myself. I was a little disappointed with Oakland's execution the first half. Being a former O-lineman, I really watched how they played. They were getting mashed the first half by a larger FC D-line, but time wore on and Oakland got into gear. Just a side note to anybody in Oakland student section, GET LOUD! 8 guys were louder than the entire student body last night. It was good to see support by Alumni tonight.
