If Fulton is getting kids from outside their zone, isn't that a Knox County Schools issue? And the question I'd follow up with is this: WHY, pray tell, would KCS make that exception for Fulton? Now, if it's allowed because kids are coming into the vocational system at Fulton, I don't see what the problem is.
The rumors and innuendo are nothing more than jealous fans who cannot grasp that this staff works really hard to develop the great athletes who come through the pipeline. And they come from fans who clearly don't understand the level of integrity that this staff possesses. These men are coaches, teachers, and most of all, mentors who demonstrate class and integrity to their players. As much as they want these young men to win State Championships, they want them to be good men.
And, for the record, it's my understanding that Quarles is the one who doesn't want the Fulton/Maryville matchup to happen. (And this is coming from someone who would know.) I don't bring that up to besmirch Quarles, as I believe that he and his staff are every bit the men of integrity that Fulton's staff is.
