  1. PWII, I remember well how much different this group of kids would have responded a year ago. I was very proud and impressed by them. The atmosphere they were in Friday night could have easily made them pack up camp. BUT they have turned the corner. You guys have done a great Job with them. ITS AWESOME! I will be there come playoff time (ONCE our season ends) I cant wait to see them play. I am very proud of them! And of the job you guys are doing there. Huntingdon has a great community, school, kids, and coaching staff. Its a wonderful place to be.! I hope I can eventually get these kids to evolve to that attitude! We are working hard! Film study wasnt as fun this past weekend for me..Nor was the food as good! HAHA but I am working on that also.! TAKE CARE! GOOD LUCK against the Bulldogs! TAKE IT TO THEM!
  2. GOOD LUCK MUSTANGS!!!! I listen to the game from last week with Westview on the internet. AWESOME!!! I would have loved to have been there coaching the MUSTANGS!!! Huntingdon you have a great town, school, and support. It was truly an honor and privilege to coach there. WE are getting better down here in the south, and maybe possibly get this program back on track.! I do miss you all A TON and cant wait to come watch the MUSTANGS play football! Once again GOODLUCK and GO STANGS! Coach Wambles!
  3. I didnt mean in a disrespecting way that I was suprised to see Huntingdon there. I do know they have a had a very good team the last couple of years. I just had heard they didnt play well on Friday. So I didnt expect to see them come out and go through teams like they did. So if I sounded disrespectful I apologize. There were several excellent teams there this weekend and there was some very good ball played. Goodluck to the teams this year, and I hope to continue to see West TN success. Once again my apologies for sounded disrespectful.
  4. I attended the Sarah Beth Whitehead tourny yesterday and today. I am a big fan of TCA I was suprised that both teams made the championship being the small schools of the tourny. I figured TCA had a good chance, but was suprised by huntingdon. As a big TCA fan, I give my props to Huntingdon and have alot of respect for the program they have and what their coach seems to be all about. He really has that program going and seems to do a great job with the his team. I know we all at TCA think the coach, the players, and the parents are a class act and always enjoy playing them. Huntingdon be proud of what you accomplished, be proud of the team you have become, and be very proud you have a good coach who has yall in the right direction. We see lots of schools who dont have that at all. Its nice to see others be as lucky as we are to have the coach we have. GOOD LUCK on a good season, and our prayers go out to the young lady who was injured.
  5. Thats good to hear, I am guessing the talk worked. They beat Westview and West Carroll today. Good job Fillies. Where is district play, I am assuming Huntingdon is in First considering they have beaten most everyone they play.
  6. Way to go Huntingdon. I had heard they didnt play well earlier this week, and the coach had them practice til very late after the game. I dont agree with that, but its not my job either. From the records the ladies are playing good ball.So they are doing something right in Huntingdon. I would love to see some noise made for Carroll County. I did see where they reworked the cross county rivals in the second matchup after a close first game. Goodluck the rest of the way. I hope you dont have anymore late night practices.
  7. Was wondering if anyone knows the Huntingdon Westview score today. I know they played at Huntingdon. Who played well..Was it a double header or Varsity JV game?
  8. Sorry for the problem I caused with saying anything about softball in West Tn. I think there is great softball all over the state. Like Spojo said earlier, I do know Huntingdon and Lexington were in the commando classic, but were rained out. I also know that they dont mind traveling anywhere to play, they are just limited on where they can travel..Especially considering both those schools are football dominated..So its like pulling teeth for them to get things for other sports...I have more respect for the TCA program and its fans that most any other school simply for the fact they speak the truth..I am not a softball know it all by any means...I just was stating what i think and see here in West TN. I do think Camden has played for a few Championships, and I know TCA has won a few..And I am sure TCA might repeat. Yes the teams do play alot in West TN. But its not because they dont want to play..There are more places to have BIG TOURNAMENTS in Middle and East...Nashville, Franklin, Hendersonville, Shelbyville, THE BORO...etc...where would you like for WEST TN to have so many big tournaments..? Jackson yes...outside of that??????? True softball is more competitive in middle and east I agree...But there are a few teams over here that do not mind playing anyone..And if we take a beating...we will go home...Goodluck to all of TN softball teams....in district play this week..I hope to see some good matchups come that time...Once again sorry for the conflict I caused...
  9. After watching TCA play Huntingdon at the beginning of the year, and all the things I hear, I would never say TCA isnt a very good softball team. They are very very good. I believe they are among the top teams in West TN. I will say this much. Hunting went to St. Benedict on Thursday of last week, and beat them 2-0 and 6-3. Both were varsity games and were well played from everything i have gathered from coaches and fans..Should make for a good single A matchup down the road for TCA and Huntingdon again. People should realize that we play softball in west tn also..Its not just a middle TN sport....TCA can play!! So can Huntingdon Covington..and st. Benedict. also...among some of the teams...
  10. From what I hear in Milan and some people around the area. He has a pretty dang good staff still in tack at Huntingdon. Most of the coaches he has on staff are very qualified and have good coaching resumes to go along with it. So I am guessing he has a pretty strong staff. Which will probably keep Huntingdon going strong.
  11. Well I hear there was another big time matchup between Huntingdon and TCA again this past weekend. My friend from Jackson tells me, that it was really the best game at the tournament, but that is was a round or two early. Congrats again to TCA for winning the Tourny. That is a wonderful thing they have going on for the Sarah Beth. Nice to know people still have feelings. i do believe Huntingdon has 3 seniors instead of 1, but Thomas and company are juniors, and I did hear they had two up and coming freshman. One of them being a shortstop. Is it the same girl whom played against TCA the first time at Huntingdon, I was not as impressed, but I do realize people have bad games. Maybe those were just freshman mistakes. Goodluck the rest of the way to bioth teams!
  12. I dont know alot, but i think with any team if you take there best pitcher away it makes them average. So I am not sure what you are saying or why you would make such a comment. I am guessing if Tca didnt have there pitcher they wouldnt be as good either. Anyway, this was just a discussion I was having with a quality person and program. Wasnt saying anything about Huntingdon being any different than any other team..I do know this. They went undefeated in district play which must mean either the region is very weak or something. Once again, I didnt mean to state anything, and I still think Huntingdon has a good club behind them Thomas.
  13. Thanks for replying. I am guessing you are TCa fan. Once again another great show of a wonderful program. I dont much of softball. I just really enjoyed the game last night. I had heard the hype about TCa and Huntingdon supposively two good games the year before. Knowing Carroll Co. as a football driven area, its nice to see other sports getting some hype. I do believe the Huntingdon Coach is also a football coach there. But from what I understand that he is trying to get things going in the right direction. Onca again cant say enough about the TCA program. Thanks for the reply/ goodluck this weekend.
  14. I agree. I am just an avid sports fan from Carroll Co. I was at the game last night. TCA has an extraordinary team. Which is why you all have a couple of state champ. in the last couple of years. I really think Thomas is very good. From what I understand she can play other positions as well, but never gets to showcase that due to pitching. Huntingdon is still very young from what I understand. I am excited for a Carroll County team to be as good as I think they will be. As an experienced state tourny team fan, does Huntingdon have what it takes to make any noise at state? Just wondering your thoughts? Goodluck TCA I am now a fan of you all. Great players, and support. Top notch program. Which is what I believe the coaches at Huntingdon are working to get too. Goodluck!
  15. Milan 07, Im not a Huntingdon Fan, but you show your ignorance to the game by saying a guy that has rushed for almost 1800 yards on a team you say is weak anyway is stupid. According to the Jackson sun he is averaging 8.3 yards per touch. Maybe you havent watched him play. I watched him twice, and I am yet to see a back a quick and strong as he is. Take your stupid comments to somewhere they are wanted, just dont taint the message boards with your ignorance anymore! I am looking forward to a great matchup between two west tn powers Friday night.!
  16. In my opinion in Dresdaen the problem isnt Coach Knott. He doesnt have a very good cast under him. True you have to have players. But when a program is being known for having the worst coaching in West Tn for the past few years, and all you do is replace the head coach, and keep the other coaches who were on staff already. That doesnt help alot. There is talent in dresden, but if the bag is full of bad apples and you only replace one. The rest of the bag is still bad. I know that the assistant coaches are good guys, but not the best coaches in the world. Take a look at the big picture. To compete in 2a football you better have good players AND several good coaches..Just my two cents. Good luck Dresden and Coach Knott. By the way, he is a very good Coach. Give him time, and check under him instead of blaming him.
  17. Sorry guys that was just my opinions. I didnt mean they were the truth. You all base things on one game. And not on the season. Anyone can have a great game. As badly as I hate to say this. The best rb in my opinion in West TN isnt even mentioned by anyone. And its simply due to he is all they have and has no help. The Cunningham kid from Gibson County, is probably IN MY OPINION the best Rb period, and put him on any of the teams we have talked about and they automatically go up several spots. So lets think about what we are talking about here. The Gilbert kid is not close to Rod Smith. He is in a league of his own in Milan. There are some resemblences, but lets be real. He is not that great. Maybe one day. J.W. is small. So he doesnt have the total package. The question is who is the best. Not a playstation guy. So comeon guys.. Goodluck to all teams this week. By the way The weathers kid is small also. So I am not sure he is this category either. I still like the dyersburg guys. Super Fast, Strong, and good size
  18. From my understanding the weathers kid has 575 yards and 5 td in 3 games. I havent seen him, but I hear he can flat fly and will also run over you if he has too. I have seen the kid from Camden and the kid from Milan and they are not what I would call true tailbacks, although they are hard to handle. The kid from Northside is a playmaker. Dyersburg has a few guys who can run the rock. I wouldnt count Jordan out, but Matlock isnt even close to being a top 10 RB in west TN. Although he is a great fullback for blocking, He isnt a runner. Just my two cents
  19. Well it sounds if there is some hostility in this thread. It is very true there were two big O's dropped Friday night. Mckenzie took care of business and Huntingdon ran into what is a tough very big 3A opponent. The guys at Dyer from what I understand are very big and strong. That doesnt seem to help a back like Matt Weathers in the rain and mud. Bruceton, plainly and simple, was beaten by a better team Mckenzie, and by the way you do have a very good Single A football team. And as I said before, would be a solid 2A team. You just wouldnt have the depth to play 4 quarters every week in 2A. My understanding is Huntingdon isnt as good as they have been in the past. But before some of you people from Mckenzie begin your sessions be proud you have a good team, but PLEASE act like you have been there before. And since some of you cant do that! Still have some class..It just doesnt look good to outsiders looking in for you to making comments about a tear bowl and a Wade Comer Bobble Head. Those things make your whole town and program look bush-league. Duckman you seem to be a level headed guy and I enjoy reading your post. You should be proud of your teams success and you do a great job of supporting, but your partners are embarrising your program on every thread. just be happy you are good now. Because sooner or later it will run out, and then you will either be remembered for class or for being jerks. i think Bruceton, Mckenzie, and Huntingdon all have fine coaching staffs and I would enjoy my son playing for any of the 3. I just dont see the need in making a thread of making fun of the Tigers and Stangs. There was a time When Mckenzie was GOD awful. Would you like it if it were you on the other end of that stick. Like the old saying goes "What goes around comes around". Huntingdon, I think some of you are also getting a taste of what you dished out for years. You might could lend your buddies in Mckenzie some advice on this subject. Bruceton you should now realize you shouldnt run your mouth before you play. Friday night was a great example of that. You all enjoy football season it will be over before you know it.
  20. Goodluck this season to the rebels. i think you guys will run the table to a 10-0 season. Bruceton will be your only test in Single A. Until you get to MT. PLEASANT. There just isnt any quality teams in Single A. You guys would be a solid 2a team. So I think you guys have clear sailing until you get deep into the playoffs. If I were yall I would be upset over anything less than a trip to the boro.
  21. Ok. IMO! Mckenzie has a very good football team. They have a great chance to run the table and be 10-0 when the post season gets here. Now the thing with single A is there are not very many good football teams left in this classification. In my opinion, The rebels should be in the boro HANDS DOWN. They would be a good team in 2a. not a state contender but a solid team. I wish them the best. And you rebel fans should not accept anything less than a trip this year to the boro. I think it would be a sour taste if you fall short again. Especially now that JCS is 2a. Now lets just be honest. Dresden is as bad as they have been in a very long time. That happens to most schools when the talent pool runs dry. I can think of some other schools that are approaching that time also. Bruceton will not stay on the field with the rebels. That should be your only test of the year in Single A. Its just not very competitive until you get to Mt. Pleasant. GOOD LUCK THIS YEAR.
