  1. This is an interesting hire. Any word on where Coach Henrie is headed?
  2. It must have been the year before, but their varsity players were out there: Scott Pettigrew, Chris Darnell, etc.
  3. I know someone posting on here has some knowledge of how the team is looking in the weight room. I, and others, would greatly appreciate someone passing along that info. Thanks. And Indy beat Ensworth the year Indy opened. I don't know if you can constitute that as a varsity game but it was Indy's best vs Ensworths best-all assuming.
  4. Small correction: Lankford was a 3 year starter. Josh McMurray started at RB Lankford's freshman yr. Small correction: Lankford was a 3 year starter. Josh McMurray started at RB Lankford's freshman yr. And come to think of it, Neel was the only 4 yr starter this past season.
  5. I guess there are no weight lifting numbers?
  6. Competition was also down that season in the region. Which lead to an easy path through the playoffs, due to the fact the west side of the bracket is horrible outside of region 6 and the occasional Germantown.
  7. While the importance of the bench press and squat are extremely beneficial in off season weight lifting for football, some type of clean (power, hang, etc.) is just as vital if not more. That lift really teaches the youngsters explosiveness and power in the weight room that directly transpires on to the field in the fall. I hope the new Indy strength coach does not avoid this, sometimes unpopular, lift. It is surprising that there are not more OL or DL that bench 300 pds. To date there is 1. But these next few months are extremely important in reaching maximal gains during the off season.
  8. Very true, very true. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />
  9. What are those weight lifting numbers looking like over there at Indy?
  10. Indy went to the region tourney back in 2006.
  11. Any updates on the weight lifting numbers over at Indy.
  12. If you could post some of these results that would be great. Thanks.
  13. Smith left because he failed to make the playoffs (which would have been considered successful by the standards set) and from some internal pressure. If Smith made a run the year before they were runner-ups then you can bet he's still the Indy coach today.
  14. Not surprising that there's at least one OL that can bench 300. However bench is only one of the 3 crucial lifts for maximal off season gains in the weight room. The other two being squat and clean (power or hang). But this is not the first time Indy has had a QB at the front or towards the front of the team on the bench press-Emory Martin a few years back was a 300 pound bencher along with several other teammates at the time. I think I remember ole Smitty saying something to me about him having 5 or 6 300 pound benchers on the team back in 06.
  15. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Good point
  16. That says that the OL and DL need to hit the weights hard the rest of spring and summer.
  17. Very true, so very true. But I would still like to know if Indy is progressing in the weight room this off season, or if they have taken another approach to their off season plans. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  18. That's good to know they're hittin the weight room. It really does pay off come time fall. But the whole "bump" phrase just allows the topic to go back to the top of the list of topics in the thread, in other words the most recent topic someone has posted on. But it also years for more discussion about the topic at hand.
  19. Well INDYnation10 had so much input and enthusiasm there for a bit, but the mention of a weight room has vanished him from the boards. Would anyone care to enlighten us on how the team is looking in the weight room?
  20. Any word on where Henrie is going?
