LC played much better this week vs. Clinton. I would not count them out vs. Halls. If LC can stop Halls running game, they could keep it close and pull out a win. Good balanced offense by LC might be the difference.

I have to agree for the most part that wins in Sept. and Oct. are based on what happens in Jan.-July. In addition, it takes getting talented players to come out and play football. At Lenoir City, we are the smallest school in Region 3-4A and do not have the talent to match up with the Powell's, Knox. West, Halls, and Maryville's in our Region. Winning breeds success and multiple losing seasons make it hard to attract kids to play (they would rather sit on their couch and talk about how bad the team is and they don't want to be part of it). In addition, I feel coaching is 75% of High School football. If you can find a coach that can relate to his players as well as motivate them and instill discipline, he should be able to come up with schemes to have a competitive team.

Agree, giving up big plays and too many turnovers on offense have been LC's achilles heel. In addition, lack of enough atheletes at LC to make big plays on offense hinder the LC Offense. Would be a huge upset if LC can somehow win this game.

Watch out because I hear LC may implement a whole new offense for this game.

LC had last week off which should help get some players healthy. I think West was off too. Hopefully this will be a good game by 2 teams that could use a win, LC more so than West. It's Homecoming at LC as well.

Kudos to the Coach for doing what was right, especially if the boys . When players put themselves above the "Team", you have big problems. If there is anything positive about this, these 3 boys learned a life lesson about leadership, attitude and quitting.

Our school, Lenoir City, had 3 players that told the team and coach they quit because other team members were not serious about playing football. The coach told them he does not like quitters and to clean out their lockers and leave and that they would not be allowed back. (BTW,2 of players are team Captains) . A day later, the coach tells the team that he may be letting the players come back on the team. Personally, I have always been taught, "Winners never quit, Quitters never win". If I was the coach and this happened I do not think I would allow them back on the team after they basically quit on their teammates. I don't think that sets a good example for other players on the team. Just curious what everyone else thinks about this????

LC Football, I could not agree more. You feel for these kids who have not had much success in the past several years. I would like to see the players get coached instead of put down.

Devils, not sure but I think Zeller is calling his own plays, both offensively and defensively. Obviously offensively, it's not working.

You were right Ethel, too many athletes by Central. Lenoir City continues to make too many mistakes inside the red zone. Not sure who is calling plays for LC but some adjustments sure need to be made. Outscored 71-0 the past 2 weeks might mean you need to shake things up a bit...

Good point Ft. City. I think any team would have struggled with that schedule. Lenoir City has suffered some key injuries as well and I'm sure most teams could say the same thing. Hopefully it will be a good game.

I think unless LC changes some things on offense, they are not going to win this game. Get the ball to the playmakers in space because the O-line cannot open the holes needed to run the ball up the middle. Starting Tailback, Cook, out with injury does not help things. Let QB ,Gentry, get the ball to playmakers ( Harvey, Pratt, Needham) using short to intermediate passes. Mix this with a running game and maybe Panthers can get another victory...

I do not think we have the O-line to line up and shove it down teams throats. I think the coaches need to adapt our offense to the talent we have. We returned every wide receiver from last year's team. I would use the passing game to open up the running game instead of visa versa. We have a big, tall, fast WR, #1 (Pratt) that had a good game vs. Loudon. Where has he been since? Let QB #10, Gentry, throw the ball with short and intermediate passes with a few passes down the field to Pratt, and the other WR's. Get the ball to Harvey and Needham out in space and let them run with it. I do not like the QB roll -out and scramble offense. Teams have caught on to that. If we can pass the ball, it would open up some running lanes for our RB's. It's time the coaches coach these guys up and adapt to the talent we have.

As an LC fan that saw LC defeat Karns and Powell defeat LC, I would predict Powell to win, however, Karns had 6 turnovers against LC that basically handed us the game. LC made alot of mistakes against Powell which contributed heavily to our loss. I say this will be a good game with Powell winning by a touchdown.

Nothing like a little dose of Lenoir City to make you feel better about yourself. Once again, LC is out coached and out played by a team with equal talent.

I guess Powell will find out if the CC game was a fluke or not for their defense because if LC scores more than 21 points on Karns Powell's "D" they are truly hurting.

What's up with Powell?? Is there defense really that bad (300 yards rushing vs. Campbell Co.)? If so, I see Lenoir City getting a victory this Friday in the Battle of the Panthers.

The Karns team that lost to LC had 6 turnovers. They will no beat anybody if they turn the ball over 6 times. I say Sevier Co. by 10 points..

So do you feel Coach Zeller helped develop good men while at Greenville?

So in other words he became more of a disciplinarian and that led to losing seasons or he became softer and that led to losing seasons?

How did the players and parents like Coach Zeller? Was he well respected and did he treat the players fairly?

Can any Greenville fans tell me what happened with Coach Zeller? Why did he leave Greenville a couple years ago?

I read where both teams QB's are going to be back from injuries. Should be a great game.
