  1. Well now there is only one undefeated team in the District, and two undefeated teams in District play. Am looking forward to seeing Waverly play this coming weekend since Camden is off. Going to try and make the Lewis-Waverly game. Will be in Florida for the Camden-Waverly game. Sure do hate that. I look for Camden to jump on Waverly early and often. Don't know if Camden can stop Wavelys passing game but Waverly sure won't run on Camden and Waverly can't stop Camdens running game. Could be a shoot out that night. Sure do hate to miss it.
  2. This topic will be hot for the next two weeks reguardless of who plays next week. I am going to try and go to the waverly game this coming weekend. Wont be able to be at the Camden Waverly game. Will be in Florida. Camden has to get after the QB all night long. Will post a little more after Lewis Waverly game when I see waverly play first hand.
  3. You are so right Beagle. Take away 30 holding penelties for Camden and one maybe two for Hickman and the score would have been worse. At the end of the 1st quarter I expected the score to be 48 or better to maybe 6. I think the techenical was a bunch of garbage but then you don.t know what was said to the Ref.
  4. When I arrived at Hickman Co stadium, there was standing room only on the Hickman side. By the end of the third Quarter, it looked like a Ghost town over there. It is really funny how the fans rally around a team that is undefeated then suddenly start jumping ship when the tide turns. Hickman fans, if you don't think that those kids on the field don't need your support when they are down and if you think they don't know that they were deserted after the first touchdown by Camden in the third quarter, you are very wrong. Those kids played their hearts out and most of you walked out on them. That's wrong, very wrong. Tto those who stayed, my hat is off to you. Way to go Camden but those reacord breaking stats for holding are not something to be proud of. It is funny though that the Hickman QB could do what he did and no one on Hickmans team ever held. Have good time off but remember Waverly is a passing team this year.
  5. You wish Huntingdon wasn't outplayed for three Quarters. If Camden had adapted like your coach did blitzing like Huntingdon did would have opened Camdens running and pass game up. and practically nullified Huntingdons defense. Your blitzers would have been useless. I do appreciate loyal fans and Huntingdon has them, some great people over there, and a darn fine coach. You have boys that give everything they have on that field. Please don't spoil everything for your great fans and great team by getting nasty. You have a wonderful and blessed day my friend. Go Camden and Go Huntingdon.
  6. Haven't seen Milan play this year but I have seen their fighting spirit and determination to win. I believe Milan wins but not by much. Could be wrong but I believe a couple of turnovers and milan could have a long night. Milan by 3 maybe 7.
  7. Camden-Hickman game should start at 7:30. Believe me, I am with Beagle. I think Will Blow is a fine coach and has done a great job with the young men on Camdens team. He has a fine staff and they are winners on and off the field. As has been said in other posts, you see things from the stands you can't see on the field and vice versa. I also agree with CamdenBottoms. I believe a Fullback set would give a little more versitility. If it works, use it. If not, Don't. Versitility can be very benificial at times.
  8. Never will I make excuses for this Camden team. Different story. The Coaching Staff didn't adapt to things that wern't working. Of course we aren't the coaches and I do believe Camden has a pretty good staff but adaptability is a must as well as the willingness to adapt when necessary. Short passes and running out of the I formation would have made a world of difference in the Huntingdon game. My belief only. Huntingdon got the count down and Camden did not adapt. Camden out played Huntingdon for 3 quarters only because the Defense worked well but by the time the 4th rolled around the defense had spent a lot more time on the field than the offense. No defense can play all night long when the offense is going and out. Adaptability. Huntingdon did it in the 2nd half and Camden didn't. No excuses. that game was lost by coaches unwilling to adapt.
  9. No matter where you go and how good or bad you are, everyone thinks they will blow the other team out. Now it all depends which Camden team shows up. If the one who played Fairview and Lewis Co shows up, Hickman will be the one that gets busted in the mouth. Camden as a whole is much improved over last year but that is irrelevent. Last year was 2013. This is 2014. This Camden team is better prepared than last years team more disiplined. The points Hickman put up on Lewis Co won't happen on Camden. By the way Camden plays all 4 quarters. Even wore out they are still fighters. We.ll see how Hickman plays all 4 quarters when the defense in on the field 3 out of 4 quarters. If Hickman wins it won't be because Camden get's outplayed. I won't elaberate on that till after the game. Don't know or care how fast #7 and his brother is. Irrelevent when a Camden player is in the backfield when the ball is handed off. Enjoy the talk for now. We'll see Friday Night. If potential is met, and I am not at all positove it will be, Hickman won't be in the game very much at all. Would love to see Hickman play Huntingdon. They are one fine football team and the coach is very good. Knows how to adjust. They only play their district and 3AA and 4 AA teams and lose to very few of them. Adjustments have to be made at Half time if something isn't working. It wasn't done last Friday night. Could have been but wasn't. Good luck to both teams. A little more luck to Camden. Hope for a good injury free contest. I hope Hickman is hitting on all cylinders so there will be no excuses either way.
  10. I think Waverly wins this week against MC. Could be a good game but you never know. Waverlys first real test I believe will come in two weeks, on the 10, at Lewis Co. Tough team and tougher at home. Camden has a open that date and God willing I plan to make the trip to watch this game. That is the game that will determine wherther or not Waverly is in the top 3. I pray for all the teams playing this week safe travel and a safe injury free game. Good luck to all.
  11. I think Waverly wins this fairly easily. The new coach has been able to get kids to play this year that the old coach couldn't. It has made all the differance in their performance. Lewis Co will give them a time and Hickman will also. Camden barring injuries will keep the QB on the move. Hold the ball over 3 seconds and someone will be in his face. The D line for Camden have almost taken the handoff from opposing QB. Waverly has some good tall recievers but it's hard to get the ball to them from your backside. Heard QB was a pretty good runner. I believe he will need to be. I wish them all the luck in the world as well as Lewis and Hickman. We'll see where we are all at when Camden and Waverly finish up on the 17th. Good luck to all. Safe travel and injury free games. Hope Faiview gets Z back soon. On to the next one. Camden has an always tough Huntingdon team coming up this weekend. Can't say too much. Not most but a few Mustang fans can't take much ribbing. Gets their panties in a wad.
  12. Tyler Warbritton was someone to be feared. Fast slippery and big enough to run over most linebackers. Great player
  13. Lewis Co will be hard to beat, I repeat hard to beat at home. I think Lewis has the edge in this one. another undefeated team goes down. Lewis 28 Hickman 13
  14. I think if Zimmerman doesn't play as Swarm says, East will outscore Fairview. Defense will tell.
  15. Crockett Co,s John Jones is a beast and Deshawn Brown is slippery as an eel and fast, If Henry is the best back in West Tn., and better than both of them, he maybe should forgo the rest of High school and for sure College and go on the the Prows. Some of them could sure use a super running back. UC QB may very well be better at running the read option and that's OK but UC QB being better than Camden won't help the Mustangs Friday Night. Lions 38 Mustangs 20
  16. Camden is playing some of the best Run Defense I have seen them play since I came back home. Huntingdon is always tough especially at home. Camden is fast on both Offense and defense. If I could wish for anything it would be a hitter like Brice Wheelbanks or Moose Horton. They made players not want the ball. that said I always enjoy this game. I think Camdens total package, offense and defense will win out even in the Mustangs home. I don't think it will be a blow out but I think Camden wins by 10 maybe 14. Good luck to both teams and I pray for an injury free contest. Go Lions
  17. Good win Camden. Contrary to this score Lewis Co has a desent Team. Not last years team but a solid team. My hat goes off especially to two players for Lewis Co I believe it was #64 or 74 not sure at the moment but he played with a lot of heart.. Limped throughout the whole game and never Quit. And Lewis Co # 5. He played hard and fought hard all night. For Camden Good defense. Got to watch those 4th and 9 passes to the corner. Never should have happened. A good bump at the line and that play would never have happened. A good bump throws off timing routs. Remember this Camden, Waverly is passing a lot. Hats off to Brown on his 4 touchdowns, Blow and the offensive Great job fellows and a special shout out to the whole defense. Good penetration. Great tackeling Riley. Now let's move on to the next game and stay consistant. Go Lions.
  18. Good luck to Hunter. He's a force right now and with a little more playing time will become a force to be reconed with. That young team Fairview has this year will be much tougher next year mark my word. We are all praying for this young man.
  19. I was away from Camden pretty much from 1978 until 2005. Have no ideah how the games between Camden and Waverly went during that time. 2006 to date Waverly hasen't won against Camden. Didn't show up in most games. They have fielded some good players at times but not a team. Haven't seen Waverly this year. Hear they have a new coach and a descent team. Time will tell. Can't predict what will happen in the upcoming game with Camden and Lewis Co. I am pulling for Camden and if the team that played Fairview and Montgomery Central shows up, Lewis Co in in for a long night. If the team that played East Hickman shows up, it could be a long night for Camden. They made more mistakes and mental errors in the first half of the EH game than all three of the other games combined. I really look for it to be a good game and I pray for no injuries on either side. On a side note, Waverly has proven nothing when it comes to fairview. Waverly hasn't played them yet. No matter what team you have each played you can't predict how you will play against each other until it's over. Camden was rolling with an udefeated season a few years ago and the last game of the season before playoffs was against a descent but not exceptional Red Hawk team who came in and played exceptionally well to defeat Camden. I think Swarm is right on so far. Waverly hasn't played the best of the district yet. So let's wait and see the outcome of the rest of the season. Good luck to all teams in the district and I pray for injury free fun games. Looking forward to Lewin Co. Friday night.
  20. Not much chatter on here about this game. Is it that not much is known about each others program or does everyone not want to talk about the game. I'll admit i know nothing about East Hickman. Didn't even know how to get there. Had to Google it. Strange because i've driven by it on nbumerous occasions. Looking forward to this game. First away game this season. I wasn't sure how Camden would look this year but I have to hand it to the coaching staff and the kids. They, so far, have cleaned upo their act quite a bit over last year. Very few mistakes made on offense and defense so far. Almost no fumbles or interceptions and a very very few penelties so far. I hope that this game as well as all games played this weekend has no injuries. Good luck to both teams but just a little bit better luck to the Camden Lions. THe defense is very tough and the offense is very fast. Looking forward to Friday night and a good hard fought injury free game.
  21. It all depends on which team shows up. The one with the strong Defense or the one that Holds every other down. If Camden contains like they did against Huntingdon on defense they should win but if they get into 3rd and 40 on offense like they have it could be a long night for Camden and the fans. I pray for a good hard hitting game with no injuries on either side. Go Lions.
  22. I believe this game between Lewis County and Fairview will be the game to decide who wins the District. I have seen both teams play. One on a nice night and one on a sloppy wet night. That being said you can correctly assume that I am a Camden fan and a follower of the team. LC is a tough team with several assets on offense. Fairview Has a very good defense and can throw the ball. This will be a very good game and anyone who thinks different is wrong. As they say though on any given night and any given game. LC does have the size and home field. Fairview is fast but so is LC. The one thing I can say is that Fairview controlled Webster, 22, and the Camden offense on a dry field as well as LC did on a wet field if that says anything. Of course when you offense coughs up the ball on their on 13, it's hard to keep any team from scoring and it is hard to score when you gain 6 yard and get penalized 10 or 15. That is a problem Camden has had. As for last year and the very fine CC team. The only reason CC beat Camden last year was the loss of Camden QB Tanner Hudson. Camden was up 19 to 7 when he got hurt. Vick the 2nd string QB was out with a concussion from the game before and Camden had to play a Sophmore QB. Camden still was ahead midway through the 4th. The defense was on the field just about the whole last half. That goes to show you that on any given day anybody can win or lose. Good luck to both teams. I am sure whomever wins will be deserving of first place in the District. I pray that no injuries occur and that it is a well fought clean game.
  23. You guys are really pulling out the vocabulary for this thread. I do so enjoy reading all the hype. It is good to know that each team is supported by their fans. I do enjoy High school Football. The effort and determination that those boys show is second to none. Not College or Prows. The last time Camden played Lewis CO., Lewis Co. was undefeated. They had one of the best Back in the state that was eating up some yards. They had a huge offensive line and very fine defense. Camden Came to Lewis Co. When the left Lewis co. had one loss and I believe that was the only loss in regular season. I cant remember exactly but I believe that running back had less than 50 yards. I could be wrong about that and probably am but I am not wrong about the score. Both defenses played a heck of a game. The final score was Camden 6 Lewis Co 3. The field goal kickers were the only ones to score that night. I look forward to the upcoming game. I pray for a good injury free hard fought game. Good luck o both teams but just a little bit more luck to Camden. Go Lion
  24. Camden has a very good run defense. Up the middle you are going nowhere. They have a very good run offense. They warm up with short passes but during the game they have only one pass play. Throw it as far as you can and hope someone runs under it. The best QB to come through Camden in resent memory was Tanner Hudson and he was hurt early in the CC game. Playing for Memphis now. Vick is a good run QB and has an arm. He could make 10, 20 yard over the middle passes well. Tanner could throw 50 yard passes accurately, Vick, Haven't seen it yet. Vick has an arm but in my thinking which doesn't mean much, needs short over the middle and screen passes worked in more than Camden does. That would open up the run that Camden has. In the past few years Camden has had playmakers who have stepped up when needed. Moose Horton, Jordon Murphy, and last year Chris Nazi. Didn't seen that playmaker, take charge leader on the field in their first game. Demo Nazi has the potential and the strength. There are other players who also have that potential. We will see as time goes by if that leader emerges. West Tennessee teams can compete with any teams in the state in the run offense and defense because that is just about all they see until they get deep in the play offs and run into a passing team. This is where they show their lack of skill in defense. Hope to see a win for Camden Friday night. Lord knows these boys need it and would love to see a definite leader emerge on both side of the ball. Go Lions
  25. It does seem that everytime Camden gets to Milan we have an injured QB. Tanner Hudson was injured in our game with Cheatham CO. He was puttig up so awsome numbers in passing yards and running yards. He had a CANNON. He also had a leg, although didn't attempt many fieldgoals, he could kick 35 to 40 yarders easily and in practice kicked 50 yarders. If necessary he would kick through the endzone on kickoff and could pin you very deep with the punt whici didn't happen often. He suffered a lacerated spleen against Cheatham County in the first quarter but already had camden up 12 to 0. Camden lost a very fine football asset and fine young man on it's football team in that game. Now Vick is good QB with a set of wheels and should do well in the upcoming game with Milan. Camden has a very fine defense. Please don't think that you will come to our house and destroy us. You won't. And don't think Camden will just lay down because you are Milan. I have all the respect for you program. Milan is consistant but have shown some weaknesses this year. Vick was thrown into a very difficult situation agains Huntingdon in his first game as starter and it dhowed. He has gotten consistantly better each game and will do fine against Milan. Heres hopeing that this will be a good injury free hard hitting game and may the best team win and be supported by the other throughout the rest of the playoffs. Go Lions.
