  1. Mr Ray Lewis 51, if you think Waverly took Camden to the wood shed then you have never been to the wood shed and have very little idea of which you speak my friend. Neither team was impressive and just as the announcers had said which ever team makes the least mistakes will win the gams and that was Waverly. The biggest mistake I saw Waverly make was a 50 yard loss on 4th down. Unless both teams make many improvements, neither team will win very many games.
  2. Yes, Both teams played hard as I am sure every team that played football did all over the state but let's be honest, neither team was that impressive. First game of the season, that is to be expected. Waverly has a couple of good running backs but Camden was in the backfield all night long, just couldn't wrap up. Had Camden wrapped up the Waverly runners there would have been a lot more 3 and out. Tackling by the line needs much improvement. Was impressed by the Camden linebackers. They played well, except for the pass completion that set up Waverly winning touchdown and frankly that play was there all night just was never completed. Camden QB was very good when he had time to pass and better when Brown was in the game than when he wasn't. Not because of Browns' blocking because he wasn't very good at that. Yes Brown is one of the best running backs in the state and if Camden ever learns to block for him he will do much better. Brown was hurt on the kickoff return when he ran into his on man and I believe if that hadn't happened he was on the verge of taking it to the house. The collision slowed him down enough to get tackled. He played hurt and limped the rest of the game. Waverly QB if he doesn't get hurt will be very impressive his Junior and Senior year. He is young, got some wheels, needs arm strength and better decision making. Fountain for Camden needs help in the decision making process. He just piddles around in the backfield looking for a hole instead of taking the opportunities he has and lowering his head and hitting the line. Both teams need a lot of improvement of their Offensive and Defensive likes. Don' know how Waverly schedule looks but if Camden is to beat Huntingdon next week they had better start tackling better. The runs Waverly made are nothing compared to what Huntingdon will do. Huntingdon would have beat both teams last night and left them laying in the shade. Huntingdon will wear a strong defensive line down. Camden defensive needs to tackle better and wrap up. Waverly offensive line needs to block better and Camden does also. Learn to block and Brown will go wild. Never mean to offend anyone, just my opinion and everyone knows how that goes.
  3. As usual I have made another mistake. As they say I have CRS really bad. the margin of points last year when Camden and Waverly met was only 3 points and I thought it was 6. Sorry about that.
  4. Love to read what everyone has to say. Haven't seen any scrimmages this year. Been down with pneumonia. Here is what I do Know. No one will stop Brown in this district. Camdens QB being compared to Hudson, more accurate and better decision making, if this is fact then anyone who plays Camden better bring their dinner cause it will be a long night. The only team on Camdens schedule that has a good chance of knocking them off is Fairview. Zimmerman was a beast last year and he played hurt most of the time. A healthy Zimmerman is a force to recon with and if he has half a team behind him they will be extremely difficult to handle. Don't know anything about Waverly. I do know they have an excellent coach and a good staff but a lot of good players were lost. I was not at the game last year but listened to it on the Internet from Florida. My opinion the game was lost just before halftime on a coaching error and everyone makes them. Had Camden continued to rum the ball there would not have been an interception and subsequent touchdown. What did Waverly win by. I believe it we 6 points. that play gave Waverly 7 points the would not have had. Oh yeah Waverly you didn't much more than slow Brown down. Now I have friends and family on both sides of the river and a friend that is a Waverly coach. I wish you guys all the luck in the world after this Friday Night and Fairview All the luck in the world until the last game of the regular season. I pray for an injury free season. all these young men are warriors and I pray none of them have any injuries. God Bless all
  5. Hay BIGPURPLEMACHINE could you tell me if the game is on the radio and if so how can I access it
  6. What I can say anout Hickman Co. They have the brothers #7 and #14, both fast but #7 can make you miss and #14 can throw the ball. They are not I repeat not one dimentional. With Camden if you key on Brown you will can stop Camden as Huntingdon did and Milan did completely in the 1st and 3rd quarter. With 4 or 5 different people running and a mix of passing thrown in, they wont be easy to beat. If they don't beat themselves with Fumbles and interceptions they will give Milan a game at the least. Milan and Hickman play a lot alike. I think Milan is a little stronger but not more athletic. Milams Defense stopped Brown because most of the time he got the ball and everyone on the field and in the stands knew it was going to happen. Camden passing has not been a strong consistant advantage for them but Camden moved the ball well when they did and mixed it up but fumbles and interceptions killed them in the 2nd half and especially the 4th quarter. Oh and by the way Hickman, Milan hits hard. Good luck to both teams and I pray for an injury free game.
  7. Everyone talks a little trash when they play each other and I do understand how that could irritate someone. Talking trash to each other while playing is understandable. Disrespecting a fallen player and the fans in the stands is something else all together. If Camden players disrespected hin then i'm sorry for that. You guys go and play a good game and represent Quad four. Hickman is playing much better in the playoffs than in regular season. Good luck and stay safe.
  8. Congrats Hickman. Great job tonight with the win. I definately knew you had it in you. Be prepared as Beagle says. Milan will bring the wood and are not afraid to use it. They had several unsportsman like. Most of theteam are OK but number 4 is that little round space on the south end of a northbound mule. Dancing around on the field when players were hurt and throwing hand jestures at the Camden fans. Not a very good kid. Good luck youll need it. Don't be afraid to work on slants and other pass plays. Run different plays often.
  9. Good Job Milan. Congrats. Way too many Fumbles and way too man interceptions. No way Camden could stay in the game with that happening. Would like to say that Most of the Milan team was very good sportsman with the exception of Number 4. He needs someone to take him out behind the woodshed and teach him a little respect. If my kid acted like him, a player down everyon taking a knee and this punk dancing around on the fiels and even making hand gesters to the Camden fans, he wouldn't be on the football field the next game and I might just pull him next year too. Very very rude and disrespctable kid. Everyone else was very respectfull. Again great gam and congrats to the Dogs.
  10. Camden I think, is better in 11AA than their record reflects. Huntingdon should never have beat them. If they were doing then what they are doing now I don't think Camden would have lost but we'll never know. One play and a couple of missed extra points and Waverly might have not beat them. We'll never know that either. We will see what if they can play with Milan tomorrow night. I hope Camden steps up and plays their best game this year because I think they will have to. I know those boys are capable and I look for a good ball game with Camden the winner 28-21. See you tomorrow night Milan
  11. I haven't seen Johnny Jones play. What I do know is that being coached by Ward and the yards he has put up so far this year, he has to be an awsome player. I was going somewhat off of something that was said by the Milan fans about the large line that is blocking for him. I think that Brown might be as good as Jones. If Camden opened lane for Brown like Jones line does for him who knows. I looked at yards per carry also and Brown is slightly ahead in that catigory. If Camden doesn't win this Friday night, I would really like to see Jones play. I will say this. Brown is fast, real fast, agile, can cut on a dime and elusive. He's strong and very hard to bring down and has a stiff arm that has left many defenders layin on the turf watching him score touchdowns. Next yesr, If he can put on ten pounds and not cost him any speed who knows. I know he is someone to be reconed with now. Really looking forward to this Friday night, cold or not. I pray that neither team suffers any serious injuries. God knows there have been enough already.
  12. I do really like to see good honest ribbing of each other. It's fun to read how each fan feels about their respective teams. Before I really get into the game Friday I would like to say a few things. First I don't think Caddis17 was talking about individual players. He said talented teams. As individual players I think Deshan Brown and Johnny Jones are in a class to themselves this year and Brown might be a little better. He doesn't have the monsters blocking for him that Jones does. Camden has a good solid offensive line but there are reall no outstanding lineman. Fairviews Zimmerman is a very very good player and I look for him to be great before his highschool years are finished. Hickman has two brothers that are awsome athletes and Waverly has three or four athletes themselves. I'll say this and I'll shut up. It doesn't matter how bad any one team beat another tean. What matters is matchups. I've said that several times this season. Milan is always tough and even tougher in the playoffs but if anyone out there thinks Camden is just going to lay down because they are playing Milan, well you best think again. Camden is going into this game to win and move on. If they don't it won't be because they didn't leave it all on the field. If Camden doesn't turn the ball over and they haven't alot this year and can play relitively penelty free ball, they have a very good chance at winning this game.
  13. Jacketman. Come on across the river to Camden-Milan game. Camdem plans on running that Brass Monkey all the way to the top of the tree this time. I think it will be a good game. You can always come see Waverly play if they win at Camden the next weekend. Milan has improved drastically since the season started. Even in a down year Milan is nobody to play with. Will be glad to have Milan at Camden next Friday.
  14. Thanks Beagle I knew it was 53 but sometimes I can't put the right names with the numbers. Memory not what it once was. Someone do in frount of me had said it was Jake Scott. I appreciate the correction. Will be praying for him.
  15. Good Job Waverly. Guess you will have a remach with Hickman Co next week. Good luck to both teams. Camden has Milan next week and will be playing without one of our Senior Starter Jake Scott. Broken leg. Was flown to Vanderbuilt.
  16. Good game dogs. I think you guys were the only ones that really had anyone to compete with. Sounds like Waverly blew Fairley away. Camden had Lewis down 41-0 with 2 minutes left in the secong quarter. 2nd team was in before the 1st half ended. Lost a senior starter tonight. Jake Scott, a broken Leg. He will be missed but hid replacement came in and made several tackles. I think the Hickman Bull Dogs won so it's Camden V Milan and Waverly V Hickman next Friday night. Good luck to all with no injuries to any of these fine young men, but just slightly more luck to Camden. Good Job Milan
  17. SO by your way of thinking, now follow me here, since you beat Camden by three. 2 missed extra points and one 2 point conversion that diden't happen, a bad play with about a half minute before half time, when most coaches would have been satasfied to end the half tied, to go up 14 to 7, you won the game even though Camden outscored you in the 2nd half. you beat Camden by 3, Lewis beat you by 5, Camden beat Lewis by 18, Fairview beat you by 14 and Camden beat Fairview by 15 you conclude Martin-Westview will beat Milan, I believe you said in an earlier post by as much as 14. I believe Milan wins this game. Camden has played Milan several times in the playoffs and I gurantee you might beat them in regular season but they are as tough as a 20 penny nail driven into a seasoned piece of Red Oak in the playoffs.
  18. It's a new season and a new dat. Everyone starts with the same record.I believe some of these games ar predictable but you never know. Have seen and heard of some mighty strange games this year. I will throw this in since this is a Milan Westview thread. This game will come down to two factors. Who makes the least mistakes and wan'ts it more. Milan is very resilant and always tough and so is Westview. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win. I pray for two things during the playoffs. No serious injuries and officials that call the game fairly (?).now my predictions for what they are worth. Camden at home against Lewis Co. Camden wins Westview at home against Milan ? a toss up Hickman at home against Manassas Hickman close game Waverly at home agaunst Fairley Waverly should win easily Will wait until we see how the first games play out Good luck to all
  19. Deshan Brown--Camden--Averageing over 200 yards pr game Johnny Jones--Crockett Co.--almost 200 pr game
  20. Thanks Still waiting on the two youngest boys to settle down, get married and have one or two themselves.
  21. Missed the Camden Waverly game, sure hated that but Family comes first. My 23re grandchild was born in Florida and had to be there. Listened to it on the Internet. Wished I hadn't. If I had waited til the next day I would have only been mad 15 minutes or so instead of 4 hours plus. Great game Waverly. You will need another one Friday night. I plan on being there to watch this one. Fairview will hit you in the breadbasket and then in the mouth just for good measure. Would not even venture a guess at the score. Oh, Waverly you have suprised the district and impressed a lot of people good job. Good luck tomorrow and the same to Fairview. Play hard, fair and I pray for no injuries.
  22. I would not venture to pick either way in this game. Either team has the potential for a win. I was , as well as most everyone else in the District, Skeptical about Waverly the team and their ability to have success in the top end of the district. They have proven so far that they can. They capitilized on the errors that Camden made. Camden did not on the errors Waverly made. Faiview beat Page and that is no little feat. Waverly, Fairview is no pushover and Zimmermzn is a monster. They have a good O line and good backs. THey have a better pass defense than Camden. Much better. Fairview, Waverly has an explosive offense and a pretty solid D. Waverly tends to have a lot of penelties. That could be their downfall. I am pulling for both teams to make a good showing and if it's played on Friday night I plan on being there. I prau for a good hard fought injury free game. Being a Camden fan I am hoping Fairview plays just a little better but whomever wins I will be happy for. I think Camden plays Thursday Night. Hoping for a win. The Red Hawks are playing better at the end of the season it seems.
  23. Sure doesn't have the intrest Camden Waverly had does it. Very true words CamdenBottoms. Maraman would do OK as Fullback. Could make some large holes also. Few years ago Bruceton had a running back with the most yards in the state, Chandler Jordon. Ran behind a fullback who was a defensive tight end and took the place of the Willis boy who dround. Alex Matlock, 6' 4 265 I believe at the time. Chandler once said anybody could run behind Bubba, made holes you could drive a truck through.
  24. Yes it means a lot to both teams plus Camden and Fairview. It means a lot to all the teams in District 11. One thing I have seen in this district is, you can't take winning for granted. Waverly did and lost to Lewis Co. Camden did and lost to Waverly. Lewis did and lost to Stewart. Every team in this district had better be on top of their game or you could end up on the losing end. Good luck to both teams. I pray for an injury free game. Play hard and play your game.
