  1. I have been away for many many years. Juat returned to Camden in 05. Been going to Camden games since then. While watching Camden and WV over the last 6 years I have seen one thing that is constant with WV. They play harder and better as the season progresses, always competative. However what WV did in 01 is no more relevant than what Camden did last year or the year before or the year before. What matters is this year and the playoffs. If Camden is to beat WV in the first round, Camden will have to play all 4 quarters. Camden is much improved right now than they were the first of the season. WV probabely is also. I look for a very hard fought game. I look for Camden to spread the field and complete a lot more passes than they did in their first meeting. I think Camden wins 31-24.
  2. No is an awful definate answer. If Camden gets by WV and I think they will. then Camsen will have to step up on Defense. Both Milan and Camden were beat by Huntingdon but played about the same game. Milan is predictable. They run the same offense they have always run. It worked for them in the past as well as this year so why should they change. Camden is a different offense this year with a QB with a better arm than any one in the past few years and runs a little more spread offense. If they should meet, Camden will have a good chance. Not saying they will win but they will have a fighting chance if they work on Milans predictable offense in defensive practice. The reason Milan got beat last year in the playoffs was their defense against the pass. Go Camden
  3. Harpeth has a solid team. Descent defense and a good offense. Their QB is tough and runs well. Their tight end is tall and will fool you with his speed and ability to get clear. They also have a very good running back. They play with a lot of heart. Camden had them down by 14 in the first quarter but they fought back and took a 21-21 tie into the locker room at halftime. They eventually lost the game but fought hard to the last buzzer. Don't think that Harpeth is a easy mark. If you do you will get wore out. they're a good team.
  4. I don't believe there is a revenge factor either. I do think Camden is a much improved and better ballenced team now than they were when they met Westview the first time. I haven't seen Westview since the first gane with Camden but I have seen Westview in a few playoff games against Camden in the past. One year, not too long ago, Camden beat Westview fairly easy the first game they played. WV came into the playoffs and almost beat Camden after Camdens QB was knocked out with a broken ankle. I dont look for Westview to play any less inspired football this year than they have in the past. OK, Camden is playing some very fine Offense right now and have put a little size on the line with the addition of Eaton #77. Dont know how much of a factor he will be yet but he has the size. Camden has improved on Defense also. Blackburn is hitting real hard and the whole defense is covering better and gang tackeling better. I think Camden wins this one. Camden 31 WV 24
  5. First off I would like to say that I should never have let things get out of hand between funtoplay and myself. the post are not the place to get irritated and vent especially on someone you dont know. Every highschool game I have seen every year, I see kids who play their hearts out and this year is no exception. I think that's why I enjoy it so much. I am sorry that I let it get out of hand. Very sorry to hear that Potts won't be playing. He is a heck of fine football player and I know the Cubs will miss him greatly. Good luck to both teams. Have a safe injury free game.
  6. Haven't seen Creekwood play but have heard they are better than their record reflects. Have seen Camden play and while they are a little light on the line, they adjust well with speed, desire and agility. Almost every team Camden has played this season has had a bigger line on both sides of the ball. Camden lost very little if any in the speed department this season with Capps and White in the backfield along with some very fine runs by Burns. Camden also gained a little power running in with Hassel and Blackburn and there is a lot of speed coming off the bench. Throw in Hudson at quarterback with the ability to throw 30 yard bullets and 50 to 60 yards at any given time and speedsters that can get under them. Hudson can also have other teams starting on their on 20 almost every kick off if the coaching staff chooses. He also has the ability to pin you deep on punts and is capable of kicking 30 to 50 yard field goals. Any team has a chance on any given night but tonight Camden wins.
  7. Camden has a better offense thats a lot more explosive. Cheatham have a bigger defensive line. Camden was able to get outside with their speed. Camden couldn't run up the middle. Cheatham Co got most of their yards up the middle. What I was talking about was the the line size advantage Cheatham had on both sides of the ball. I believe this game could go either way. If you look at howdoitknow2s post, both teams are simerly matched with points allowed going to Harpets and points scored going to cheatham. They are both worthy opponants and should be proud of their accomplishments so far this year. Have a good clean safe game.
  8. You are absolutely right, you don't get to 7-2 and not have a solid team. I think it will be a good game between Harpeth and Cheatham Co. Kyle is hard to cover. He's taller than most and from what i saw, has the ability to get open. Harpeth has a good team, no question. The quarterback is fast and has a good arm. Sorry that I let funtoplay get a little under my skin with the crying about stops and fumbles. Camden has a small frount line so they have to play extra hard, and do. Their defense is not the best. Cheatham has a large frount line and a good defense. Hope the game is fun and injury free.
  9. My posts, even though it might seem to be, was not about the kids but we seem to have brought them into it. I know we are proud of our boys as you are yours. I watched both teams play their hearts out at the Camden game. if you look at my first post you will see how i felt that both teams played a great game. I believe you kids as well as Camdens are all good kids who play hard and fair. My later post were posted at funtoplay after the crying started about a fumble or two. Harpeth played a heck of a game to be down by 14 in the first quarter. Not many teams can come back from that. Good luck Friday night. Cheatham has a very good defense. Lions by 21
  10. Harpeth has an average team with not enough defense to handle Cheatham Co. Harpeth has a a big tight end who slips out and makes some good plays. Cover him and stack the box Harpeth scores very little and Cheatham has the ability to do that. Cheatham has a better defense than Camden does. Camden beat Cheatham with offense and descent defense. Harpeth had OK defense and OK offense. Stop the tight end and you stop Harpeth.
  11. 12 points is 2 TDs and missed extra points. Of course I thimk it will be a lot worse than that. You're right abour Camdens D. It's not real good. Had it been last years defense you would have been shut out again completely like you were last year. You haven't improved any, other teams have just gotten worse.
  12. OK funtoplay. Come and watch the game and bring a banner that says creekwood by 10 so you can shamefully burn it in the parking lot after the game. Oh yeah bring a good notepad so you can write down all the excuses why Creekwood lost. You sure dont want to forget any when you start to post Friday night or Saturday. Sorry, you are a Harpeth fan. Well thats OK you can take your pad to Cheatham Co. You will need it there as well.Cheatham Co by 12. Camden by 17
  13. Just some more what ifs and might have been. Camden won by 14 and held Harpets scoreless in the second half. you lost so quit crying. Going 70 yards and not scoreing is absolutely nothing to brag about. Harpeth is definately not that good.
  14. The game between Camden and Harpeth really should have been a blowout. Up 14 to 0 in the first Quarter. Harpeth showed some heart to comeback from that and go into the half tied 21-21 but they could not play with Camden in the second half. Camden gets stronger as the game progresses. Their conditioning has won them more than one game this year. We can all find excuses for a loss. Harpeth got tired in the 4th. you could see them slow down a step and that gave Camden the edge they needed. Harpeth is a fine team this year, Quite a bit better than last year. Good luck with Cheatham Co. Go Lions
  15. This should be a very fine contest. Both teams have very good defenses but I believe Cheatham Co. had the best defense. Harpeth has the most explosive offense but Cheatham CO also has a good offense. This should be a really good game. We pray for a safe injury free contest. As for me I will be at the Camden Creek Wood game. Go Lions
  16. Yes, Camden could have lost a few more games. The line on both sides of the ball is undersized but they have played hard and have not given up. The offensive is explosive and that has kept Camden in the games. With the exception of Waverly, Camden has not played any game that was won in the first half. It has been 2nd half wins all season. Camden should have lost the MC game. The coach chose to go for the tie instead of the win. That lost him the game. MCs QB had been gaining 4 to 5 yards on every carry up the middle every time he carried the ball. Why try an extra point. Why not go for 2 and the win. As was said earlier, with the eaception of a few key plays Camden could be 2-6 instead of 6-2, true, but with the exception of a few key plays Camden coulf be 7-1 or even 8-0. I think the talent, the desire and the toughness is there. The major problem this year is the undersized line. Conditioning beat DL and the CC cubs and has been a major factor in the wins Camden does have. I for one am very proud of the way the team has performed this season. Go Lions.
  17. We do love our team in Camden. Sometimes, and I speak of past predictions, we love our team blindly. Camden should beat the Rebels and do so handily. That does not meen they will. I have no doubt that Camden is the better team but that doesn't meen that team will show up for this game. Look at the Bruceton game that we won 14 to 0. Look at the Westview game in which Camden didn't even attempt to play in until the 4th quarter. There was no reason to loose that game. Camden is a better team than Westview, but we lost. The talent is there for a big win but it was there in Bruceton and at Westview. It just didn't show up for those games. We had flashes of the talent Camden has in the Huntingdon game. Not the whole game but a lot of it. Take away the onside kick fiasco and the game would have been a lot closer at least and with a stop Camden might have even had a chance of winning. Huntingdon has a very fine team with a lot of talent this year. With all that being said and a wind bag I can be sometimes I believe Camden gets the win 35-14. Go Lions
  18. And I have 11 years on you and I heard and saw the same thing Matt saw and heard
  19. Mckenzie if you can throw the ball successfully 60% of the time and run a little you have a chance. If you can't, the night could be very long. You have to be able to stop Huntingdon from running the ball. Very difficult to do. Mckenzie you will have to out score Huntingdon and will only do that throwing the ball. Good luck to both teams. Have a safe and enjoyable evening.
  20. Guess it's a little early for the chatter on this game. Don't look like anyone is talking early. If Camden plays up to the talent that they have, a lot of points can be scored. The defense has to step up for this game if they want to win their division. This is the game that counts. Won't be an easy game and will be won or lost on defense. Go Lions
  21. It was senior night for MC and they played extra hard. Camden won, thats good but they didn't play that well. A couple of fumbles, another player hit by a punt and execution was a little sloppy. Big plays kept Camden in this game. If MC had ran the ball for a 2 point conversion instead of trying to kick the extra point after the last TD, the game would most likely have went to MC. Camden could not stop them on the ground. The QB sneak worked all night. MC just chose not to use it. Good for Camden bad for MC. Again we see that the officiating is poor very poor. If you were there you know what i'm talking about. It was bad, bad, but went against MC as well as Camden. I must say they were fair about their bad officiating. Good luck to the Lions, Win Out. And good luck to MC the rest of the Season. Now Camden get ready for Harpeth, work hard on Defense stay focused and win win win.
  22. I believe Camden wins this one if the team that playes DL,Cheatham CO and Waverly shows up. Coach Blow had a good game plan against Waverly and the kids executed well. If the team that played Westview shows up it could be a long night. I believe Camden wins this one by at least 14 possibaly 21.
