Well DB pitched 3rd or 4th pitcher and Crockett went with their ace. Could have very easily upset Science Hill last night if it wasnt for Norris being so sick. Anyways when Crockett comes to J Fred its going to be a totally different game. Like i said a FLUKE blowout for the tribes first game this season.

im not exactly sure, but i heard u add 3 mph on the scoreboard at J Fred , and he hit 91 and 92 a couple times when he needed a big strikeout. By far the best pitcher in the conference, and the major league scouts will come callin soon. Dylan Harvey was also excellent 2night for DB. Great game though, i can tell DB has def. improved since last season and the Crockett game was just a fluke.

Mckinney pitching against the tribe tonight??? DB is starting 2nd best pitcher Dylan Harvey, good win by the tribe last night against a very solid pigeon forge team, that has an awesome outfield. Poor Jamie Crawford was robbed all night, including a go ahead homerun in the bottom of the sixth that the left fielder brought back in. Easily one of the best defensive plays ive ever seen at J. Fred.

Central has a good team dont get me wrong, but they will fade once they start playin conference teams. This is the best the big 9 has ever looked talent wise, and the pitching is very good, their are atleast 10 guys in the conference that throw high 80's.

Crawford is def. the best SS in the conference and is really the only SS that is gettin D1 looks at short. Hits for very high average, prob. the fastest player in the conference ( 6.6 ) 60, and has a strong arm, and looks to be signing with ETSU. He is the only SS in the conf. that has to go back and forth between turf and grass as well. This isnt bein a homer its just facts. Roberts is a very good player as well, and hits very good for average and homeruns but we all know he doesnt have the arm to play D1 short stop but 2nd base definately.

Same situation as Crawford had his junior year, Seabolt plays baseball and misses spring practice, so more than likely the senior Roop gets the nod. Playing 2 sports can come with some cost at DB, rather than a county school. Best athlete at that postion should play!

April 9th-12th Oak Ridge is hosting tourny, and DB will be participating in it. Dont know the other teams that will be in it, but it will be a good chance to see what some of the knoxville teams have. Wish Ritz would have gotten them in the SportsBelle this year, it is loaded with the best teams in the state including Science Hill, been a good chance to see some very good pitching early in the year, we need those bats to get warm quick because this first game is a very important one.

Thats the future indians, We're talking about this year, and this year the Indians will really surprise some people and carry over from a very good summer. Last year was a down year but everyone knew it was coming because the 08' class had very few athletes period. Your not going to win 30 games every year, and thats what DB fans had come accustomed 2 the past 5 or 6 years. Now that this team has had a full season of playing together, and only losing one starter, returns their best pitcher Gabe Overcast who was 1st team all conf. for some of u that say DB doesnt have an ace, and returning senior SS Crawford ( who ETSU is recruiting ), this team will def. make some noise this year and have something to prove.

Dont get me wrong SH will surely win the conference, but im not predicting a sweep or anything. They will have to fight for some games. Year in and year out SH has the best pitchers and best defensive teams in the conf. but their hitting is usually very inconsistent.

i Saw matt marsh pitch in the summer in Murfrees. and he is excellent, he must have struck out atleast 15 guys, prob. throws 88 with a very nice curve.

SH is def. the team to beat. Returnin the best pitcher in the area ( McKinney ) and should be very solid defensively, I think half the team has already signed somewhere. But with Mckinney and Norris the rest of the conference will be playin for 2nd place. I like Dobyns Bennett for 2nd place, they were young and inexperienced last year only returnin one starter from the year before ( Crawford ), but really seemed to gel later in the year, especially playin together in the summer i think will def. pay off. DB will have 4 quality pitchers that got alot of experience last year. 3rd place i like Crockett with Clint Freeman and Massey, and they also had a good team in the summer. Then Tn High, South, Central and so on.

You are forgetting possibly the best athlete on that list and in NE TN, and thats Dobyns-Bennett ss Jamie Crawford runs the 60 in 6.7, gettin looks from Austin Peay, David Lipscomp, but will more than likely sign with ETSU.

so, i know of atleast 5 DB players offered to go play in it,one of them being Jamie Crawford.

Oh please South has to play Greenville to get 2 the semis thats really soft, and they should have gotten beat last wk if ME doesnt have a total DobynsBennett meltdown in the 4th qt. Davenport is the most overrated player around here by far, has a really weak arm just throws prayers up to KK every time, Crawford was the best overall QB around here, he just never got to play Unicoi or Boone to pad his stats like Davenport. South is really weak against the run thats why i think Greenville might take them, and just wait till you see #32 next year runnin right down your cocky throats.

Chris has been a great RB at DB so far and will def. shatter all the rushing records, but he still has a ton of improvement to work on to be a highly touted prospect. If he wants to be great, this offseason he needs to work on his speed, right now hes prob. in the 4.7 or 4.8 range in the 40, also needs to watch some film from this past year and work on his vision and the ability to cutback and juke which is also missing from his game. With the new realignment i expect CS to rush over 5,000 yards for his career, look for mostly ACC schools to be interested.

I dont remember anyone saying he was offered by alabama, he's just a player alabama recruiters are keepin an eye on.

GC doesnt give the QB the option to audible, GC has to relay those goofy hand signals to change the play in which case would almost certainly cause a delay of game penalty. Best scenario if its a very important 3rd down and they throw something different at us CALL A TIMEOUT! Hope we are ready to play, because i really want to see us play faragut again or even SH for that matter.

take out #18 and replace him with #32 and that will eliminate some of those long sweeps we give up, im not tryin to knock on #18 im really not hes had his moments this year, but from the replay last night you can just tell he plays way to high, and he just doesnt have that physical aggresion to knock people on their butt, and shed blockers where we all know chris does. I will say #15 didnt look to bad and he should be at that pos. in passing downs. replace #1 or #22 with #10, and put him on the teams #2 WR, that way u can match up #3 with the other teams #1wr and shade #2 over that way. Thats just in cover 3 which DB runs alot of, but in cover 2 u put both #10 and #2 in there at safety and bring #22 back in at corner, and that will be very hard to pass on with both #10 and #2 on either side of the hash marks. Of course playin both ways, people will have to step up to spell these guys playing both ways. As ive said over and over again this year we have got to pass more on early downs to set up the run, because that makes the LB's and DB'S have to pause for just that much longer, which will almost guarantee atleast 5 yards on every run.

Its sad, but very true. If GC continues to coach not to lose instead of coaching to win his fate could be the same as fulmer's here in a year or so. Trust your players and especially this senior class to go out get the job done, and get this team far into the playoffs. If we're so good defensively why did time after time kinley ran around the left side getting first downs all night, and DB had no answer. And yes #18 has no business at LB, you cant lose outside contain like that all night, and i blame the coaches as well for letting that happen, We knew all wk exactly what SH would do, i mean come on they passed what 3 times??? I just thought we would be more prepared than that, stack the box and limit outside contain, but nothing changed, and DB was very very fortunate SH has a worse coach or they would have put up more than 6 on us. Lets stop this conservative crap please, if u really want a Championship on ur resume GC you have to go out and get it. For all the seniors this is it, i know its been a long season and the practices stink and all that, but for most of you this is it for football, so go out get prepared and focus this wk for a good mcminn county team. P.S.- we cant let south get ranked ahead of us in the NET standings, we know we're the best so lets act like it.

D. Steele saved the perfect regular season for DB last night no question about it. It was a hard night of football to watch for either side in this game as the coaching was horrible for both sides. I just dont know anymore what we're doing on offense. Way to many options and sweeps on a team that has way more team speed than DB. GC will never understand that throwin early in downs will make the iso plays with sensabough much for effective later in the game. Yes Ashlon was out, but that didnt mean we couldnt have more balance in the run and pass. Fake punt was imminent but #2 was still back 30 yards, db had #1 on the toppers #1 why? Kinley ran to his left the entire night and ate up the clock in the 2nd half, and DB had no answer for it defensively. But hey maybe we're still just not showing anything till the playoffs. I hope this wk in practice DB can work on some fundamental things, like tackling for one and start to get more focused.

maybe so, but im almost certain he will be back on the field this year, All DB has to do is key on #5, have a spy on him at all times, and put a taller corner or their 6'6 WR larry, rely on chris and jamie to make big plays and DB should win by 3 tds.

Talked to Ashlon last night, been to the doctor got his shots and everything, and boldly said im not missing the game friday night, so sounds like it will take more than mono to stop him from playin his former school. And yes Alabama likes what they see from the 6'6 receiver.

Im not sure tricitiessportsfan i didnt make the trip to CC, but from the radio i dont think Crawford saw any action on Defense nor did i hear anything about slyvester going into the game. But I will say a complete 180 in the playcalling GC good job keep it up and keep them guessing and this Offense will get rolling at the right time. But as Batman said im not sure if i would this game, but def. come playoffs, i would play #10 Crawford on defense and #32 sensabough on defense along with #2 slyvester, we need our best players on the field the whole game to compete with region 2, and thats a fact.
