I have always seen this in the KNS Prepxtra section and was curious as to what this is and what they do for the athletes that get this honor

From the Scott County faitful we thank Catholic for the incredible show of class last night. Our community has had a very hard week, and I know that football was the farthest thing from those kids minds. Bigbearsfan, you are absolutely right if we never compete against one another ever again we will always remember and be grateful for what Catholic did last night. Last night proves that there are still good people in the world and Catholic is full of them. Again, THANK YOU Catholic administrators, players, coaches, student body, and fans for your support and we are forever grateful to you. GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!

Turtle, honestly what is your opinion on last nights contest. I thought that Scott played a good game and yet you continue to show them little respect. I also understand that some of the Highlander fans in the past on this board were borderline obnoxious in there posts, which would give you reason to be this way. The last 2 games against AE, the Highlanders have really played well, in the end they just haven't been able to make the big plays that AE can. I fully believe that we played the best defense we will face, in you guys, until we play Kingston, AC, or Catholic. My expectations for a team are always what I think they are capable of, if I didn't think Scott could hang with Fulton I wouldn't say it, but I believe that they can. I believe we are better than we have ever been in recent memory.

Kaz im glad that got you going, good luck to your indians against Watertown. Im extremely proud of the highlanders, they showed incredible poise when they were down 19-6 they fought back and didn't lay down like teams of the past would have done. I really like there chances in 2 weeks against Fulton, they seem to be a very focused group of young men and I applaud Coach Gillum for what he has done with this program. Masterchief is right if you continue to work hard and listen to Coach Gillum & Co. you will have another shot at AE in November. GO HIGHLANDERS!!! Okay Big Red, this is your chance to shine. Be sure to remember when the AE players taunted you and everything you stand for. I remember these words as I stood on the fence line hearing the AE players say such phrases as "What a joke," "how lame," or even on this board as you were constantly targeted as the "hounds of heck," Go out tomorrow night and show them what all the traditions you have mean to you. For years, I have heard some SHS fans say we are never respected. A word of advice: TAKE IT!!!! Take your respect, show them that you are not the doormat of Region 2-3A. GO OUT AND HIT THEM RIGHT IN THE MOUTH DON'T LET THEM HIT YOU FIRST BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO FIGHT TAKE IT TO THEM FROM THE FIRST WHISTLE. To you seniors, you have one more shot at these guys go out and make it one of the most memorable moments of your high school careers. You guys have been hyped up to be the senior class that would help bring SHS football back to the forefront, tomorrow night is the perfect opportunity to get a head start on getting that done. Something that I have just now discovered is that there is now a Highlander football website. As far as I know it is run by students at SHS and I must say that they are doing a really fine job. The site has a video clip on it that has highlights of the first three games of the season that was shown at the 5th quarter at Trinity Baptist Church for the kids to enjoy. In some spots it is a little behind on the update process in terms of pictures and stats but it is still a very nice site. To the kids doing this keep up the good work. Very good post this off week will definitely help the Indians. It gives injured players time to heal and it gives you more time to prepare for Greenback. I am so glad to hear someone talk about going and supporting one another and not go cheer against them. When SHS was off the whole team basically was at OHS vs McCreary Central and were all supporting OHS. It is refreshing now to hear about the Indians supporting the Highlanders and vice versa. If you have been out town any at all you always see kids from Oneida and Scott High hanging out and there are no problems what so ever. I am a Highlander at heart but I support the Indians as well. Good luck to the Indians against Greenback and good luck in the playoffs and if I aint badly mistaken didnt you guys lock up a home 1st round playoff game when you beat Harriman? I hope to see some Indian players, coaches, and fans at Anderson County this week cheering on your fellow Scott Countians as they take the field against the Mavericks.

The Highlanders have had a real tough stretch here in the last 3 weeks. They havent really played a complete game since the AE game and it has shown with losses to Fulton by a final of 42-6 and to Kingston 34-0. Even though it is to late cause SHS is eliminated from the playoff race, this team is far better than there performances of late have indicated. IMO the problem has been the loss of Steven Kries. They have( not coaching wise but player wise) lost a ton of confidence with the loss of Steven, who was the heart and soul of that whole team without a shadow of a doubt. With this being said, I look for the Big Red to come out and have a motivated week of practice and put in a very good performance against AC. Final score Scott-28 the Mavs of AC-26. For you seniors you have two more to go and then some of you will never play this game again in your lives. You put in all the work, all the blood, sweat, and tears to come to this point you have already had a very good season compared to years past end this baby on a good note end your high school careers with one of the best seasons you young men have had in your careers in any sport at any level. Just because you guys have lost the playoff opportunity doesnt mean you have lost the support of your fans. I will most definitely be in attendance this Friday night to root you guys on just like I always have through thick and thin.

Even though this game is in two weeks it is a very important match up for both teams. In reply to Brumfield SHS has played pretty good on special teams and we have a very good OL that really played good against AE.

I have heard don't take my word for this that he may have a broken foot or ankle if that is true then somebody is gonna have to step up to fill that void. Chase brings a lot to the table he blocks downfield as proven at the Gibbs game when he was 40 yards downfield on one play and was called for a block in the back but you still have to applaud that effort. I certainly hope that this isn't true and like I stated in an earlier post I hope that he will just have to miss a few days of practice and be ready by the Fulton game.

I agree Old_Highlander_13 SHS really showed a tremendous amout of heart and emotion. Do you know the status of Chase's injury? He would be a HUGE loss for the OL if he proves to be out for a while which I hope is not the case. Hopefully he will just have to miss a few days of practice and be ready to go by Fulton.

First of all congratulations to Austin East on your victory tonight. But I gotta tell you Scott really showed a high amount of character. When AE got up 7-0 and then 15-0 in years past that would have made Scott quit. I was so proud to see this team fight until the final whistle blew. This team is certainly gonna be a special team that is gonna shock some people this year and I would imagine that it shocked AE to see Scott fighting the way they did. First of all Scott keep your heads up you still got 5 more to go. To AE congratulations on the victory and good luck with the rest of your season. Well SHS tonight is the biggest game of your careers. You need to come out and smack AE right in the mouth and let them know that they have come to Scott High School located in Huntsville, Tennessee and that you are out to prove that you are no longer the doormat for Region 2-3a. You have an excellent coaching staff that has you well prepared for this game and for every other game you play on your schedule. For you seniors, tonight is your chance to shine. TAKE IT!!! Take this opportunity by the throat and play your guts out. Like I have said before this is your chance to prove to everyone that you are here to stay and that HIGHLANDER FOOTBALL is officialy back on the map.
