  1. I belive the deciding factor will be in the second half. Tyner battled tough in the second half against Fullton a three a power house. South Pitt on the other hand has played maybe one quarter of a second half an that was in the third against Marion. Tyner wins this one in the second half by two touchdowns.
  2. You better be ready for that speech at twelve thirty tomorow. I told you you can never tell who might show up. But id like to know what you think about Whitwells marquis. Whitwell vs Jasper i belive is what it reads. Now aint that just a smack in the face. Well Friday night is gonna be great!!! These MARION COUNTY boys will be ready to roll.. An one more time.. MARION- 28+ WHITWELL- 0 We Are.......Marion County!!!!!!!
  3. /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> Quiet literally over my head Bill. But are you certain on that 1987 game?
  4. You never know who might show up at 12:30 Thursday so tommorow you might want to practice instead of lecturing on supply and demand or whatever it is you are teaching those kids these day. We Are........Marion County!!!!
  5. Sorry Bill, i missunderstood your post but i totaly agree that the atmosphere is pretty intense on either field when these two teams meet. It will be a hard fought game till the half. But the start of the second half will be all Marion. Marion simply has more play makers. An yes the line has been suspect at times so far this season but I belive they got it in them to have a good practice an come out strong this week. They may need one of those pep talks they use to get on the Thursday of Whitwell week.
  6. I could'nt help my self. I have to mention Joe Muir from Marion County. His hit at the Grundy game absolutely turned the poor yellow jacket a flip two feet in the air. It was a spectacular hit! Reminded me of a helicopter!!!! We Are.........Marion County!!!!!
  7. Yes it is an i was told that they were so praised for winning that the school got out the following Monday thats a rumor now you know how that goes. The last time they defeated Marion prior to 2003 had to be after the 84 season but before 90. I was told that it was the 87 season but I wanted to be sure. We Are..........Marion County!!!
  8. Mr.Legend would you or anyone else know when the last time Whitwell has defeated Marion besides 2003. I think im close but i want to be 100% correct. We Are........Marion County!!!!
  9. Bill i totally agree that its always a tough, phisical game. Last season the "You Got Nailed" award went to a couple of Warrior boys in this game. Thats how physical it is. However the upper hand the past two years has by far went to the men dressed in purple and white. I totally agree with you Bill about the toughness of this game however i firmly disagree with this history lesson you speak of. The Warriors have fallen one time since the eighty's (87 I belive correct me if im wrong) to the Tigers. So if anyone in Whitwell is going to be giving a history lesson this week you will see it at school not at Tiger Stadium Friday night. And dont get me wrong im not refering to Friday nights game and who is going to win im just refering to the history of the two teams. Good luck to the Warriors and the Tigers in this one it should be a great night for Tennesse High School Football. Marion- 28+ Whitwell- 0 We Are..........Marion County!!!!!!
  10. Marion vs Whitwell has always been a great rivalry in the valley, the schools are so close together both teams practicaly know one another by their first name. But great rivalrys dont always mean the teams have to match up very well. If im correct i dont believe this senior bunch from Marion has ever been beatin by the Tigers from little league up. There was one nail biter two seasons ago but the Warriors had a great goal line stand to win late in the fourth. Look for Marion to have a big night from skill positions on offense an the line to step up BIG TIME!! Marions defense should handel the Tigers O very well up front an force them to put the ball in the air. Good luck to both teams but Marion seems to have a major advantage on both sides of the ball an on special teams (two blocked punts one for a td, an a kick off returned back to the six last week). Its early in the week but im confident with my prediction Marion 28+ Whitwell 0 We are.......Marion County!!
  11. The loss of Tyler Kelly not only as a OL starter but as kicker has had an effect. The Warriors punter, who has averged in some great punts so far this season, has stepped up to the kicker position. The OL position Mr.Kelly occupied has been filled by a good ball player as well. Hopefully Mr.Kelly will be returning in a couple of weeks. Tommorow nights game should be a great one. Good luck to both teams. My prediction is that Marion will pull out the upset in a fourth quarter thriller an break the dreaded eleven year streak. Marion 28 Tyner 21 We are.....Marion County!!!!
  12. Marion did play a great game Friday against Grundy and hopefully it got them back on track an ready for there second region game. In the past the warriors seem to be very intimidated by Tyners speed. I belive if they look at them as who they are (just another high school team) an focus for Friday they have a great chance in this one. They need to remember that on any given Friday night any team can be beat nothing is impossible thats why they line it up an play the game. Good luck to both teams it will be a great night. Go Big Purple!!!!
